@nakapi: Aggregate reviews placed it in the 7s, too.
Interestingly, there are multiple backgrounds covered in this game. Bullying itself is the main topic. And the protagonists hate bullies who make fun of people who are different.
@Regent192: He probably didn't even play the game, just some insecure dude trying to whine that other people are mucking up the scenery in his "testosterone filled games." He's probably 5'8, 150 pounds.
@bullsharktestosterone: That sounds like a reverse woke whine-fest. Equally off-putting.
Your rebuttal addressed nothing about the things covered in the review. The review aligns mostly with aggregate views on Metacritic. 7.1 here, 7.7 there. And not one of those reviews suddenly starts talking about bizarre topics like LGBT issues.
@boodger: It's definitely up for debate. Despite a few extremely frustrating parts of the game, I actually enjoyed the remake, too, but I wouldn't call it essential, mainly because it doesn't improve on the original.
From a graphics standpoint, though, yes, anyone who love RE4 would want to play it if they can pick it up. That's one reason I played it. How could I not? I loved that damn game, still do.
And in terms of other games on the PS5, you're right. You won't find a better game out right now than the RE4 remake. I'd just advise buyers not to go into it expecting the exact quality of the original. There will be frustrating parts, and it doesn't flow like the original, but compared to most of the slop out this year, it's classic.
This game is universally loathed by almost everyone who played it.
Just buy a better version. Gran Turismo is a good game... years ago. Buy the version that has the most value as an actual game. There's no reason to bother with this release, and it looks like the majority of people didn't.
@lamprey263: Thank God aggregate gamer scores can usually out the bad games almost instantly. When you see critic scores in the 90s and gamer scores in the 2s, you know something is not worth buying.
They can lie to gamers, but there's always a way for the truth to come out before a game. I don't buy a game anymore unless I watch actual gameplay first and read gamer reviews. It cuts out most of the garbage. And unfortunately, it looks like most "next-gen" games are garbage.
@noodles227: Actually, it does. Because there's nothing new in here to justify "upgrading." If it's not an upgrade, you don't buy an upgrade. In that way, it is bad. There's nothing to justify even buying it. If there are better versions (there are), buy them instead.
You can tell Capcom really had to flood the web with paid reviews to sell this one.
It's the worst version of Street Fighter you'll ever play and is so banal it should have never even been released. If this had been the original Street Fighter, there would have been only one ever released, and no one would know its name.
You can tell someone paid reviewers on this one. Its critical score across the web is over 90. Its actual user scores - by the people who suffered through it - hover in the 5s. And that's exactly what it is. A joke of a game that's nowhere near "next-gen" or even a good game.
