I just got a new mid-grade gaming PC to update my 5 year old system. While I didn't get it strictly for gaming, I can see I'll be getting more and more PC games for the next couple years as the current gen consoles begin showing their age. The Xbox 360 is 4 years old and the PS3 is 3. Dragon Age: Origins and Batman: Arkham Asylum just look so much better on a decent PC and they're cheaper games to boot.

I buy consoles to play games. Actually, and I know I'm in the vast majority here, I watch very, very few movies.

Nice. I just got an Xbox 360 and redeemed my free month of Gold. Now, it's all buggy for half a week. Thanks for the free headache Microsoft! I guess I'd really be PO'd if I paid $50 for this crappy service. I thought Live was the best thing going in online gaming. It's not getting a very good first impression from me. If the servers are overloaded, they have $50 per year x number of members worth of money to upgrade them.

I got $50 in-store credit for buying an Xbox 360 Arcade system. The Wal-Mart I bought it at only had 6 Xboxes total and only two were Arcade systems. I used it to buy Halo 3 for $13.84. Oh yeah, I had to get up at 4:15 AM to get it. They sold out in minutes. It was a pretty good deal. It was for my girlfriend's son. We'll have to get him a 20GB hard drive for his birthday, but this is a start. It was either the Arcade system or nothing since we have to match whatever we spend on him with his sister.

I bought an XBox360 Arcade system for my girlfriend's boy today and it has the zephyr motherboard. I can see the heatpipe and the 3 rings lying down flat. Maybe some of them have the falcon but not all do.

This topic is pretty much moot considering you're not likely to find a Wii on a retail shelf this holiday season. Seriously, can anyone believe they still can't meet demand for this system? They've put production into overdrive and still can't meet demand. I'd say they're on to something.
