Meh, it's got all the technical bells and whistles but I can't say I thought much of the art style. More importantly. I don't actually find it fun to play.

Anyone have any idea how much money they're making per console? This is true of both systems (I own both, I want them both to succeed), but if they're selling at close to a loss (and at one point the estimate was something like $15 bucks profit a console), then 10 million 15 million whatever isn't going to net them a lot of profit.

Considering how many of Sony's businesses are in the tank right now, I'd hate to see them win mindshare and numbers and find themselves in a position they can't sustain. I prefer more companies in the console wars than less.

I've got to wonder if Sony isn't kicking themselves over not charging more for the PS4. It's true that the price difference is a chunk of why it's selling so well, but in a two man console war, even without price Sony scored all the early PR wins, they're ahead on specs, and MS has been fighting for and losing mindshare on multiple fronts since long before the XB1 was ever released.

My point is that even if they had both been priced at 499, the PS4 would very likely STILL be ahead in sales and public opinion. That's just where things are at right now.

But, instead they're selling PS4 at or close to margins (maybe less after marketing budgets, I don't know) and, if the suggested margins (which were estimated at less than $20bucks profit per console, just based on hardware cost alone) are correct they're not making a hell of a lot of money at a time when the company is hurting really badly.

Bump up the price 50 or 100 and I'm wondering if an extra 350-700 million would have staved off any of the losses they're managing (like the Square-Enix sale)...

I still want it, but all these SS have Witcher 3 looking a lot like modded Skyrim. Then again, if it'll play decently on modern hardware modded skyrim level graphics are just fine with me.

It's a very different design, but from the talk it's not going to be mind-blowingly faster than the top of the line now. They're pushing down power consumption and trying to get higher end power into lower end parts. Oh, and 20nm is seriously delayed...

Shrug. Played it last night on a 55" screen. Can't say I spent even half a second thinking to myself what a sub-par experience I was having. While I appreciate improved graphics (I've been playing with modding Skyrim for the past two weeks trying to up the amount of pretty), but anyone who's going to pixel-peep in Titanfall is cannon fodder.

And, yes, I have a PS4, XB1, and a gaming PC. They all have their places. But Titanfall is just fine on the Xbox 1. (Well, so far, if it ends up having framerate issues as I get further into it THAT will be a big deal)..

I bought it at Xbox live web page from work. It was downloaded by the time I got home.

Then had to install it. That was bad, but not surprising. It's unpacking and setting up a 16gig install file and the install file and game files are both on the same drive (which means the hard drive has to jump back and forth between reading the install and writing the results which kills HD performance)... Waiting for that to finish was pretty bad, but not surprising. Games are getting too damned large...

The Xbox One is a heaping pile of...potential. It's designed from the ground up to do a lot of things that would be really cool if MS follows through. That said, MS is in the middle of a massive re-org right now and needs to get its act together on a multitude of fronts, so I'm worried that the Xbox lags where it needs to lead.

I prefer the controller to the PS4. The differences aren't big, but the XB1 wins in comfort and I like the rumble feature (which, is currently underutilized like everything else).

Graphics wise? I have both consoles. I play them on a low latency 55inch gaming TV (after replacing my previous that had motion-smearing issues in games). I can see the difference and for the most part it IS considerably less than is getting hyped by cows and the news media. I'm not saying it isn't there. It is, but if you stop listening to the hype (which has gone nuts at this point) and actually compare the two. The differences are really small and often not noticeable. (Once again NOT minimizing Xbox One's issues. Just pointing out that the hype is WAY out of proportion with the truth.)

The worst thing about the Xbox is the insurmountable wall of hype against it. The hate is strong this generation and MS can do no right in that regard.

I want to argue with you, but I can't even figure out what you're saying.

XB1 digital most likely. I have a high end PC hooked up to the same tv and it works great, BUT.... Giving up the desk for the couch pretty much means giving up the keyboard mouse for gaming and moving to a controller. In MP games if everyone's using a controller no problem. But if everyone else is mouse/kb and you're the one guy on a controller... You might as well name yourself RespawningPlzWt....
