I'm a sucker for From Software's brand of melee combat, and prefer the Souls/Elden Ring style to what they did with Sekiro and Bloodborne.

I'm probably in the minority in thinking that Dark Souls 3 is still their best work so i'll go with that one. i'll admit it started feeling a bit stale in Elden Ring though.

Also shoutout to the swordplay in Chivalry 2. You can play it in third person, but I much prefer the first-person view. that might be my favourite melee combat system around since its so organic and intuitive, and has an incredible sense of weight/impact.

generally not an fan of games where you need to hit a bunch of buttons to perform a specific move/combo. i'd rather be more reactionary than memorizing button combos and trying to execute them. I guess I got into Monster Hunter World, that'd be the exception.

so it sounds like it will be pretty similar to the OG games in a lot of ways, just with modernized graphics etc.

I'm ok with that honestly. there is still nothing else quite like those first few games. the AI stuff sounds interesting, curious to see how that will translate to gameplay

be away until Saturday evening but i'll continue on with Jedi Survivor when I get back. think I'm nearing the end...

after that I am going to start Baldurs Gate 3. so many games from last year to get through, not to mention all the Sony "exclusives" that have come/are coming to PC this year. not sure when (or if) i'll get to them.

I guess i'm turning into one of those people that doesn't have enough time to play everything they want to. bummer.

I played half a dozen stages or so

cool premise and style but I found it too easy so far. like you barely need the villagers. I hope it gets tougher as I can see it being pretty fun if they actually overwhelm you with enough enemies to make the villager placement matter

I think if you accept that the AC games have always been terrible stealth games and the best ones are the more action-oriented ones, there is fun to be had with them.

I think its been a pretty inconsistent series for its duration though. I think AC4 and Valhalla are the ones I enjoyed most.

I got some enjoyment out of Brotherhood and Origins. I guess the parkour in the original AC was novel for a short time, but honestly it was a pretty terrible game.

the rest I have not liked much at all, or didn't play. I didn't play Unity or Syndicate which some people seem to think are the best ones so IDK.

I also have never actually finished an AC game. I think I got pretty close with Black Flag and Brotherhood. most of them I don't even get close to finishing.

The whole point of these games is the numbers must keep going up! all the numbers!

anything less is a failure in the eyes of the greedy.

thats bad, but still only enough to pay what, 20-25 employees for a year? Maybe a few more depending on their role? obviously a bad look but wouldn't have made a truly meaningful difference to their financial situation with a company of that size.

Love spicy food, but increasingly my body rebels if I overdo it. My mouth has a higher tolerance that my digestive system evidently.

My favourite spice hit lately are Buldok noodles. Great flavour and enough spice to have a good punch.

I had hopes this would turn out to be at least decent since I like Massive Entertainment but the more I hear, the more it sounds like a generic Ubisoft game with a Star Wars skin.

ah well. I've been playing Jedi Survivor and i'm not sure I will need another big SW game so soon anyways

damn, so many haters in here. I liked Borderlands 3 despite the annoying villains. it still had great areas and missions and the gameplay I thought was pretty fun. Play through it with friends and just don't pay attention to the shit dialogue and you'll have a good time.

still the best looter-shooter series IMO, only real competition is The Division games but the loot in them kinda stinks. The fully randomized guns are still done best in the Borderlands series, instead of just the handful of preset guns with randomized stats you get elsewhere.

I did feel like there were diminishing returns with Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, though the writing in it was not quite as bad as BL3. A lot of the optional side dungeons were especially repetitive and dull and the weird fantasy guns were kinda dumb, even by BL standards.
