@zzamaro Uhm think about your comment of "steal all their ideas" before you post it. Wii sensor comes out sony makes the same basic thing afterward. MS Kinect sensor sony reveals their kinect sensor. Who's stealing who?
I personally cant see why people would think MS would be pissed about Sony revealing their stuff first. Honestly wouldn't it be advantageous for a company to be last with a reveal. Having your competitor show their cards first seems like a benefit. Either way I hope sony does better financially this year than all the previous years. Sadly I think the rumors of the prices of the next gen consoles is correct and frankly that worries my wallet. I am an xbox player but im not a fanboy I play what I like and don't ever recall marrying a company.
@AirForce190B I dare to disagree. I loved the AC series but honestly hated Connor with a passion. He was ,in my opinion, the worst assassin out of all of them. Altair was cold and meticulous, Ezio (in later years) had the job of assassin refined to an art but was caring, Connor was brash and nieve. In my book Ezio would kick any of the other assassins asses in a heart beat. I cant comment on the Vita game since I haven't played it. I honestly wish I hadn't been so excited about AC3. Thats my opinion yours may be different.
I love when a big developer who can't even predict their own recent mistakes in games is predicting how us consumers view games. Give me a physical copy anyday. If I didn't own phsical copies then how would I play my GC Resident Evil 0?
Not to beat a dead horse but isn't EA the same company that shockingly thought ending Mass effect by not using any of your choices in the series and basically asking which color you like better was a great way to do it?
it still amazes me that when people mention MS everyone always thinks about the xbox. MS is still a software company and very well could make wow for the computer as well. Aside from that I agree that this would be a huge mistake for anyone to purchase.
As a husband of a gaming wife and father of 2 teenage daughters I understand some of her points. It is so hard for my wife to find games that have at least the option to create a female protagonist. Outside of ME, Fable, Dragon Age, and Elder Scrolls her gaming selections are slim and it's frustrating to me that more games aren't made that cater to me being a male as well as her being a woman.
My problem with half of the games that are being lambasted as "fighting **** toysis that many were and still are made in japan. I have nothing against any culture but the serious problem doesn't come from the US or UK but from the japanese view of women. Every anime cartoon there is the women have breasts that would put dolly parton to shame. There is the problem.
As far as equality in the gaming work place, great strides have been made in that realm but you also got to think that just because a female is in charge doesn't mean the quality will change. Perfect example is that one of Hugh Hephners daughters is (or was) the president of playboy magazine and still nothing changed...if anything it went from semi descreet to full frontal.
My view is simple, make games of real looking people (both men and women) and make it so you can play as a male or female protagonist. I have nothing wrong with them making characters look sexy but just not centerfold styled. The perfect fit is the new Lara Croft she is sexy but not looking like she is going to her pictoral shoot after her adventure."
After talking to a buddy of mine at Gamestop two things became evident about banning pre-owned games. A: Developers forget about how they get free advertising from such stores and B: Gamestop has taken the stance that if pre-owned gets blocked then they will no longer carry the product. While B may sound foolish due to it basically meaning the death of stores like GS it also points out it is harder to sell your new game when Video Game focused stores won't carry it.
@cheamo I agree with you completely....due to a family issue I haven't been on GS for about a month and I come on today and see at least 3 articles that make me wonder what direction GS is going in. I have been a member of GS for 10 years now and today I am just dissapointed in their brand of "professional journalism".
Hey gamespot I am really confused lately with your articles. Maybe so many people preordered AC3 cause they like the AC series (as myself) maybe I like the metal case but that isn't what swayed me to pre-order. I loved the AC series from the word go and on't be hard pressed to plunk down money to continue my game. What puzzles me is how you can write articles blasting preowned sales but then turn around and lambaste gamers who preorder a BRAND NEW game. Now as far as dlc I'm one of the few who see it as a good thing. I buy a game for $60 play it, beat it, but after a few play throughs it is shelved in lieu of a new game since my enjoyment with the original game is done. So with dlc now this game that would be shelved has something new I can download and play. With money being tighter for everyone rather than shelving a $60 game and buying a new $60 game I can pay for my $12-$15 dlc and keep my game going longer.
