[QUOTE="Paul_Phoenicks"][QUOTE="PhoebusFlows"]I am aware some quotes are misused, but this one is especially bad.

Just looking at the pics you can tell Eidos was trying to make it look like those were reviews.
Roger Ebert, the movie critic, got ticked off when he saw a few of his quotes misused. Studios made it sound like he was praising a movie he outright hated, but they honed in on the one positive line. It doesn't happen anymore because he put a stop to that. And so, while this stuff happens, it's not right, and I bet if Gamespy really cared enough they could make Eidos take off the quote or at least attach the proper source and review score.
And about the Big Rigs example you gave. I dont think any DVD box or video game poster or site has ever made up a score like that. They can take words but they can't make up numbers or final scores. I've never seen that before and if you have real examples of that I'd like to see it. (and that's why we're kind of attacking Eidos because it really looks like they are trying to position Kane & lynch as 5-star games)

But, they're not making up a score. Nowhere - at all - on the site does it say those are reviews. Oh, and: Pluto Nash: garbage movie, but they grasped on a quote about Eddie Murphy. Or, how about this one for Alone in the Dark: Why are you even trying to stick up for them? Are there no other threads that interest you right now and you just wanna argue something?
They are obviously using slimey rotten tactics. To argue about the "degree of sliminess" which they are using is immaterial. It's wrong regardless.
honestly i dont know y he would stick up for them aswell
and 1 thing that annoys me is when ppl say well some other company does it or media outlet does it too, last i checked 2 wrongs dont make a right, just cause hollywood does it doesnt mean its ok.
obviously it was very misleading, u can use the quotes but assigning stars? since when does a preview have stars, very misleading to say the least and i dunno y anyone would defend them.
