The new wii-bash topic of the month is "teh mini-games"?

By cows' standards every game ever made must be a minigame...

Eh.. cows... i've actually started feeling sorry for them.... PS3 is getting owned, they know it.... I can feel the frustration in their posts....

sad little things they are.

The greatest thing in the world would be if Nintento cut the price of the Wii before the other two consoles drop. That would be so brutal.WiiForAll

I'm sure they've secretly been discussing it to combat the holiday season, but then again, why drop the price when you still can't find them on the shelves? and still making a profit?

[QUOTE="Firelore29"]You can't even comprehend how much ba%$s it took to make the Wii. Nintendo could have done exactly what Microsoft and Sony did and would have guaranteed themselves some profit. Instead they basically got their system in line and walked off a plank not knowing what lie beneath. The Wii could have cost the company a small fortune in losses and company image. Instead it's earned them a boatload of cash and they should be respected for their inovation. PhoebusFlows

That's not entirely true. One could say that Nintendo had no other choice. After Gamecube, they were #3 and had the worst third-party relationships out of the three companies. I will give them praise for coming up with a new idea for the controller, but I dont paint Nintendo as heroic or anything. They, by default, needed to do something different from PS3 and Xbox 360 because they knew they would lose when it came to game support. (and despite high system sales, they are still losing when it comes to game support. Sony and Microsoft each respectively have way more games now and announced well into 2008)

Nintendo wasn't doing to well financially, and they knew outright that they weren't going to be able to afford to compete against the 2 giants in the hardware arena... so they got creative and did what they could with what they had...... now the outcome speaks for itself, how was that bad on Nintendo's part?

the price cut will happen, they are already considering the 80GB for america after they said it wouldnt come at all.Mandingo101

How is that possible when they are already losing somwhere in the ballpark of $200 per unit and billions in debt?

Not our fault, some of us saw this comming and waited for pricedrops or a brighter future before droping a ton of cash.

Firelore29

It's not really so much about the price. That was just emphasis.

It's more to do with the fact they've managed to sneak back into this with such minimalist effort, and they're stealing developers from better platforms. And from the looks of it, 90% of the games will most likely be casual pieces of trash.

GREAT!

Exaclty, Nintendo took a huge risk doing what they did, for all they knew the industry might have laughed them out the door................does everyone remember all the negative things everyone was saying when they announced their controller setup.... ???? well now they dominating and the bitter haters are still hating.

Square Enix has to be sweating at this point, they love to bring their games to the console with the big userbases. FF or DQ would never be a lanch game since there would never be the installed base to support SE's budget. The PS3 is showing no signs of stopping the Wii from expanding the great divide between them. This could get ugly...fast.Majatt

I agree, Square has always been a bandwagon whore.. I dont' think it will be Financially sound of Square-Enix to keep FFXIII exclusive if sales of the PS3 continue to be this bad. They would take a huge loss and never make their money back on their flagship game.

We believe that Nintendo may be near its targeted monthly Wii production of approximately 1.5 million units per month, based on comments made by Nintendo, as well as retailers such as GameStop.Based on our retail channel checks, demand still appears to exceed supply, and we believe that shortages could persist through the remainder of the year, including the key holiday period........

Reports from Asia also suggest that Sony has reduced production of PS3s, at least temporarily, which may suggest that a price cut is less likely this year...........

the Wii already has some great third-party support, and the more the Wii continues to sell, the better that support will become.

Medjai

Here is the JUNK you asked for.

GAS, do I really need to prove this, eh.. I'll just pick a random article, there are so many,

May 16 2007

http://money.cnn.com/2007/05/16/news/economy/record_gas_prices/index.htm?postversion=2007051612

Gasoline prices hit a record high for the fourth straight day Wednesday, according to AAA, and more records could be on the way.

Economists say consumers shouldn't expect price increases to stop. The government is warning of the highest rate of food inflation since 1990.

The number of homes sold last month plunged at the fastest rate in nearly 20 years.

It was the largest one-month decline since January 1989, during the last housing recession.

Was that enough ownage, or would you like some more?

Oh about the Polar ice caps melting..

http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20070515/sc_livescience/californiasizedareaoficemeltsinantarctica

Warm temperatures melted an area of western Antarctica that adds up to the size of California in January 2005, scientists report.

[QUOTE="x037leox"]

People said the same about the PS1 and PS2......................and they made out good....................

But then again, they didn't cost $599 at a time when gas prices are nearing $4 a gallon, the housing market wasn't crashing, the cost of food, (and nearly all commodities) wasn't rising at an alarming rate, and the U.S economy wasn't quagmired in an ultra-expensive war.

So the success of a $599 game console, at a time of an economic slump, whose "console saving" (as refered to by cows) games won't be out for another year is looking bleak....

and I love it.

Such an ignorant fanboy.

Care to disprove any false statements in my post that you don't agree with, rather than flaming?

Or is that all you got?
