No. I have a choice. I always have a choice. I have both systems and use them regularly. When I want to go online, I choose Xbox Live Gold even though it's free on my PS3.

Nothing's stopping me from cancelling or letting my subscription just run out. I just like the features, services and conveniences that Xbox Live Gold offers. If you want specifics, you'll have to check my posting history. I've repeated myself in at least a dozen threads like this, two of them in the past day or so.

VoodooHak

Logic FAIL.

You dont have a choice. You JUST stated that you like certain features in XBL. In order to access those features you HAVE NO CHOICE but to pay for said features. When there's no need. ALl other systems are free. That should have been the end of the discussion right there. ALl the otehr systems are free, XBL live is a rip off. Just because you are willing to pay for it doesn't make that untrue. Then they go and say that you HAVE to pay them more money because of their exclusives? LMFAO, what exclusives? They dont have Halo anymore which leaves 360 owners with Forza and Gears as exclusive titles. That does NOT justify a $10 a year price hike.

It's still a choice. If the price outweighed the features, I wouldn't pay for it. But the price is reasonable for reasons I stated just a couple posts up.

There is always a choice.

*sight* Here's another one thinking that his word is unrefutable truth that no one's allowed to disagree with.

If you don't like it, that's fine. Xbox Live isn't the right fit for you. I get that. But it IS the right fit for me. And there you have it. We've both made our decisions for our own reasons, neither of which are right or wrong.

Not a logic fail on my part, just a maturity fail on yours.

How was I immature? I stated simple facts. Yes all of those were FACTS and you call me immature? Someones getting a little upset much?

You said you always have a choice. But on the 360 you dont. It's either pay and play online, getting the most out of your games and money or you refuse to pay for live and only play single player. That doesn't seem like much of a choice to me. Sure, YOU have both XBL and PSN so you can choose which system to play. Sadly that's not the same as whether or not you have the choice to pay for XBL because you simply dont have a choice. 90% of games these days are based around their multiplayer component, without live you're SOL.

I also said that just beacuse you are willing to pay for a service doesn't make it a rip off. How many people here pay for cable, then complain about the cable bill every month? Same deal with XBL. Get over it, You were proven wrong.

[QUOTE="Brownesque"][QUOTE="timmy00"]Honestly Treyarch is doing their best to make this the best COD game they ever made and people are still hating on it. The pretty much fixed all the problem MW2 had. No commando, OMA, and commando! They also nerfed scavenger. If you don't like the core gameplay of COD well then cool opinion bro. Though you should really keep it to yourself. :)

HAZE-Unit

Srsly? Look at the series' history. COD2 was not highly marked upon for the success of its multiplayer, largely because the gameplay mechanics were weak and uninteresting. COD3, likewise. Nobody even plays that game online. But then they add a stupid perk/leveling mechanic that people got addicted to and it became a multiplayer blockbuster overnight. If I were to suggest that Call of Duty remove perks and levelups, people would QQ until this forum was flooded with tears, because they don't even enjoy the core gameplay behind the franchise. It's not just my opinion, it's their whole game design philosophy.

are you really serious? the core gunplay mechanics of COD ( COD4 and on ) are amongst the best of the best that's why it's addicting, put level up and perk system in other shooters and see if people can hold on to that game longer than COD lol.

recent examples, Medal of honor and Killzone 2.

putting new features for games was never the most important factor for great games, it's the core gameplay mechanics that lasts.

Killzone 2 lost it's crowd because it's not a n00b friendly game. There's very little aim assist and it makes it quite difficult to get a kill if you dont adjust your play s.tyle. Nobody can claim that COD isn't n00b friendly. It is. But so what? The gameplay is fun, perks add a fun element and killstreaks reward you for doing good.

Please kill the Call of Duty hype train with fire, oh lord.

Brownesque

lol why? this is like one of the best games coming this year.

Just stop, I'm already in a deep pit of misery. Best game coming this year? Why? Because there's a zombie mode? Because there's a gun game? Because they learned how to copy the most popular Counter Strike mods? Because they're fixing some of the more glaring issues with MW2 that lit up the IW forums for 3 weeks with troll threads? Call of Duty's core gameplay was always weak, they're still not fixing the core gameplay issues introduced in Call of Duty 4, and their actual creative contributions to the series remain limited. This is just another me-too experience.

Then why come into this thread to hate on it? Obviously you dont care about COD at all. Less trolling please.

If you're going to rag on the game at least go into more detail then just saying "hurr, durr, it sucks" in order to try to start a flame war.

If the 360 is technically better then where is it's Bluray drive and 3D gaming capabilities?!

MFDOOM1983

Black ops and crysis 2 are 3d enabled on 360 and blu-ray holds little weight over dvd to be considered better this gen.

Obviously you've never watched the same movie on DVD then on blu-ray on the same tv. The visual difference is astonishing. DVD looks very washed out and pixely on an HD-TV.

Not saying that makes the PS3 any better but the difference is there. And The 360 got is 3D update with this new dashboard, did it not?

Yeah I know. If you are getting it for PC, buy it from D2D (direct to drive). Unlike steam which has regional pricing (so for us it's 89.99USD, which is around 120NZD), d2d just has the same list price of 59.99 USD or around 80NZD. That's where I'm getting it from (though I'm having problems with my credit card  ).

BTW OP you forgot Dead Ops mode, though I guess it hasn't been actually confirmed yet.

It has been confirmed. At the main menu screen you mash L2 and R2. When you get up you go to a computer and type DOA. It'll start another zombie game. Top down camera view. Something like Zombie apocolypse.

If MW2 with all it's issues can pull a 9.0. Then BO will EASILY score a 9.5. I voted AAA for sure. But with how much customization, the incerdible lengths they went to balance, 2 co-op modes, and much more I could see this getting a 10. The whole game just seems to have a coat of polish that MW2 was, sadly, lacking.

LMAO, just imagine a COD scoring a 10. COD haters would explode.

Sigh there goes another one. Deus ex 3, crysis 2 and Killzone 3. All dumbed down. I think the new Red Orchestra will have to be the multiplayer game I play next year.screamingdoom
You could set your ensitivity like that in KZ2. What makes COD so easy is the crazy aim assist. If KZ3 has KZ2's aim assist, playing with uber sensitivity like this will make you suck.

[QUOTE="pengo93"]

I beg to differ on the story, they have the same general outline.

pengo93

Yes but you could say that about any games of the same genre. Most War based FPS games have some invading faction that must be desroyed, most Western RPG's have good vs evil with dragons and castles lol, you could apply the "same general outline" theory to every genre.

I may not have worded it correctly, but the Final Fantasy plots are so similar it is astounding. And I did mention CoD games which represent a lot of FPS's. Besides the real question is, why don't games like this get scored down for it?

FF7-A near god like human find out he was injected with alien DNA before he was born and that why he's so strong. He goes ape**** and tries to find a Holy Land using the wisdom of a now extinct race. Main protagonist is a failed experiment to duplicate the success that was sephiorth. Materia system uses exp to level up. Timed Battle system.

FF8-A witch from the future come back and raises all sorts of hell. Draw system. Magics could be equiped to stats for boosts. All levels take the same exp to level up. Timed Battle system.

FF9-I can't even remember it's been so long. All I really remember is kicking the snot out of Kuja:P I think it was a pretty straight forward good vs bad. Job system is employed where each character can do certain things. same basic level up scheme as FF7. Timed battle system(If I remember right)

FF10-Main character is a dream of the faith, who also allow for summons to happen. His father is Sin, seemingly the main villian. Til you find out what's his face wants to become Sin the same way Tidus's dad did. Sphere grid controlled all attributes, abilites, stats, etc. job system seemed employed at first, in the end all characters could learn almost everything. No real level up system. Turn based battle system.

So yes, all of them are your basic Good vs Evil story line. But what game isn't? Sure some games blur the line between who you feel is good and who is evil. MGS 4 for instance. But in their most basic form ALL stories can be told like this. Good vs Evil. As you can see above each of those 4 FF are their own games all with different stories, ways of telling the story, levelling system, ability system, battle system and so much more different.

Find me one series that changes this much between sequals that isn't an RPG and I'll give you a cookie.

Considering how many people have been lacking JRPG's I'm a little surprised I havent seen more people saying Legend of Dragoon. It was a really awesome game from the PS1 era. Definitely worth a play through. Every time I hear about some secrect unannounced games I hope LoD 2 will be springing up.

As for games I wish I had played...Bioshock, I tried the demo and just didn't enjoy the gameplay. But I hear the story is fantastic. God of War 3. Not may others usually if I want a game I get it:P
