The new art released for Far Cry 5 is upsetting people, because it takes place in America and you're fighting crazy rednecks, which of course means it's pandering to liberals and therefore is anti-white, anti-Christian, and anti-American propaganda.
I only went because my friends wanted to go. Deep down I didn't really give a shit, I just wanted to hang out with them, even if that meant I had to be surrounded by creepy cosplayers.
Most "gamer" thing I ever witnessed? That's a tough one.
To give a broad example, there's a local game store in my town that I go to and I'm friends with all the staff and even the owner, and they get all sorts of characters that come through the door. Disgusting rednecks who bring in games and consoles covered in dirt and grime. People who are mentally handicapped and don't know any better. Reclusive, obsessive-compulsive, and socially awkward people. There's much more, but I think you get the idea.
Plus, I would have to add my experiences at the few gaming conventions I've been to. Those kind of events are just too much for me, and I don't really like being surrounded by people who treat video games as a way of life rather than just a hobby.
