I hate to retread back to Alien, but there's something I've been wondering.
Remember a few years ago when Aliens: Colonial Marines came out, everyone was so excited because it looked authentic to the movie and it was being made Gearbox? Yet, in the end it turned out to be a surprisingly bad game?
I'm bringing this up because I've honestly have pondered for quite some time on giving that game a shot, just to see if people were exaggerating. That, and has anyone here played it and can vouch on whether or not the reviews were accurate?
I'll just say for me personally the movie is within tolerance, but at the same time the whole mystique behind the Alien creature itself is shattered.
I don't know, I hoping it would tie in and connect with the original Alien, but instead it leaves you on a loose end.
Still better than Prometheus, though that's not saying much.
Allegedly, Ridley Scott has at least two more Alien movies planned before it leads into the original Alien film, so it should lead into it eventually.
I read about that too.
I also remember a few years ago that Neil Blomkamp (the directer of District 9) was in line to make a sequel to Aliens and start an alternate timeline where Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection didn't happen. Unfortunately, that film is no longer happening.
From what I could find on what's next for the franchise, the next film is supposedly going to be called Alien: Awakening, and it's going to take place between Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. An interquel in other words.
