Ya, you should note down what moniter you have and what your other system specs are.

Try "Googling" some benchmark reviews for both graphics card to see which one suits you the best.

Personally, I would pick up the 8800 Ultra out of the two. But, if you can try and consider the 9800GTX+.

Mac Books are horriblefor gaming. If your brother suggested it, there is something wrong with him. Mac books are only for those people you are lazy, don't want to learn, and have parents with deep pockets.

This is a personal bias, becuase I have a vendetta againt Apple.

The biggest concerns I would have with an XPS is the battery life, cooling ability, and networking. I was thinking about taking an XPS to my university studies.

Do you think the XPS is viable compared to the other "study laptops"?

9500GT 512MB for $45.00. This will be a decent improvement on your 8400.

3Gb of RAM seems to be more than enough if you are not a major gamer.

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8GHz for $120.

Hope this helps. :)

Give us your price cap.

In terms of basicgaming, a AMD 4400 may suffice. But to tell you the truth, if you don't want to buy another CPU in a couple of years you should look into a 5000 or 5600, since those will last you for some time (in terms of basic gaming).

I was looking online to see a good laptop for college (and some gaming on the side), and I have seen some people (and some girls) with an XPS laptop. SO I got interested.

Than, I saw the price?

So considering the price range of an XPS ($800-$2,000), is it really worth the investment?

Ya, this game is great for when you have to download a patch for another game, or you have to buffer a video on Hulu. A great game to spend some waiting time on.

What is the point of saying the game works fine on your computer if your rig contains one of the later models of video cards, processors, and RAM??? You people just come off as snobs.

I played the game, and it would get choppy on the fighting sequences. But, I have heard that the consoles have the same problem. My FRAPS stayed around 25-30 when just running around, but it would get down to 10-15 as soon as the action was going on.

I was suprised, because I could run Crysis perfectly fine despite epic battles. :!:
