How does that think handle crysis?

Crypt_mx
Haven't installed it yet, but I'm working on it. SSD's install kinda slow, but read fast as hell. That's the most noticeable upgrade of everything I put in.

Did you spend 3200 american? if so that's freaking expensive

AzNs3nSaT1On
Yes, that's American. But to be honest it really was about average for everything I put in. And yes, I could have OCed a lower chip, but I felt like going all out. /Shrug.

You're right, I did.

But it wasn't that much actually, it was only like $3,200 with shipping.
Same setup for a prebuilt VelocityMicro or Falcon Northwest was like 5-7k, so it could have been worse, hah.

I haven't doen a *ton* of price comparison and shopping, but I used package deals I got on NewEgg and built the system in my signature below for only $3200ish, which was far less than if I bought a prebuilt with the same specs.

Ok so I wanna gloat. I can't help it.

I've built my own machines before and always kinda settled for what I could afford. was maybe a generation or so behind the latest and greatest. But I finally threw enough aside and went all out. What do you think of my new gaming rig? It's in the sig below.

Well, I should say, what bit Vista are you using? 32 or 64?

A 32-bit OS will only recognize 3.5 gig of your RAM and I see you put in 4. To fully utilize it, I'd suggest you use 64-bit.

What OS are you using though?

I've noticed something.

I've noticed that once people grow up past the early-to-mid teenage years, actually get a job other than cutting the lawn every week and getting $10 from dad to do so, and can guy a PS3 and an Xbox360, they realize that blatent, blinded, downright moronic console hatred fades away and you can learn to enjoy a game regardless of what console it came out on.

Try it, you'll like it.

vegas 2 came out a year and a half later.

gears of war rocks!!

TokayTactics

Typical Gears of War player. You missed the point.

If you're really going to argue that "Ohh Gears of War was the first game to offer it!" Might I suggest you think before you speak and take a look at oh, I dunno, Kill.switch? Or Splinter Cell? Or Metal Gear Sold 2? Or Metal Gear Solid 3? Or Siphon Filter? All these games predate Gears of War and include a cover mechanic.

My point wasn't that they were the first to offer a "take cover" mechanic because they wern't. My point was they took an old idea and said "Hey look kids! Its new!" and everyone bought it. Thanks for helping me prove my point.

Gears of War. What a piece of trash.

No, I'm not trying to troll, that game blew hard.

Edit: So when all the dumb-ass fanboys of Gears try and formulate an argument against me, I figure I should at least explain why I think it blows so hard. The entire sales pitch of the game was "Duck and cover LOL!" and "Graphixxx!" Seriously? That's a selling point? Vegas 2 had a cover mechanic, and they didn't seem to think their game was so lacking otherwise that they needed to trump a silly mechanic to the point where the game sold. And graphics? Wow it has the Unreal 3 engine. So do how many other games? The game was nothing more than "mash new technology onto a game CD and market it as fun!" Unless you're going to tell me how you were riveted by the what, 10 hours of game-play till you beat it? Or its awesome "aliens, oh noes!" storyline? Or "but you can hide behind a pillar, and then run out and hide behind a block but do it all over again on XBOX LIVE!"

Seriously, that game blows.

Neither. Don't get shot.

Tom Clancy games get it right. (And no, not the arcade console version.)
