Yes, Wii Sports is sooooooo stupid it got all these awards:

  • At E³ 2006, the game won the Game Critics Award for Best Sports Game.
  • Winner of X-Play's Best Puzzle/Party Game of 2006.
  • IGN: Best sports game of 2006.
  • Winner of The New York Times' 2006 Game of the Year.
  • Made the #1 spot of TIME Magazine's top 10 video games of 2006.
  • 2007 Interactive Achievement Awards: Outstanding Achievement in Game Play Engineering, Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, and Outstanding Innovation in Gaming.
  • 2007 Game Developers Choice Awards: Innovation Award and Best Game Design.

Seriously, if you don't like the game, who's fault is that? YOURS! Suffice it to say there are millions of people who disagree with you.

Ugh.. I get so sick of the "overclocked gamecube" comments.

WE DON'T KNOW HOW FAST THE WII IS!!! 729MHz is not a number that has been proven correct, and even if it is, it's PowerPC-based, so it's actually quite a robust lil' processor. In any case, the biggest mystery, the Wii's CPU, has some interesting things going on:

The Broadway uses a 90nm manufacturing process, while the Gekko used 180nm. Why is this important to know? Well, when you take the heat spreader off the Broadway, you find that the die is physically larger than the Gekko's. Why all the extra space? Hint: It's not for redundancy. If it were a matter of simple overclocking, there would be no need to increase the die size.

I'm not going to say anymore. Read this if you really care, but I know it falls on deaf ears (or blind eyes):

Friggin' language barrier...

In any case, they aren't old (to me at least), and are very delicious looking. I am so looking forward to NiGHTS!

I don't like the shine on the uniforms (seems unnatural/out of place) though the lighting and particle effects look quite delicious on the whole.

But did you take a look at the flying Jeep in the last picture? Since when are tires octagons?

4D could be:

1) Time

2) A physical axis

Want an interesting read on 4D without all the math? Try this: http://eusebeia.dyndns.org/4d/vis/vis.html

If the 4th dimension really is time, then 4D gaming has been around a while.

Reading stuff like this drills it into me just how atypical I am for a girl. Though I have my girly side, the side that's obsessed with lipgloss and glitter, the other side, which is into pretty much anything related to technology, is much more dominant. To be honest, I find myself relating to men more than women these days.

As a side note, geeky guys rule. Pretty much all my guy friends are just as nerdy as I am, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Number 2 for me. I like the bass, so being able to play bass lines in multiplayer was awesome.

YYZ has a wicked bass line. God, I love Rush.

About 26 years now.

I started in 1981 on the Odyssey2. First game I played was K.C. Munchkin.

Games were fun before HD. and a good movie is still a good movie, regardless whether it's on VHS, DVD, or Blu-Ray. Better resolution can't save a movie from a horrible plot and bad acting, just as HD can't make a game with redundant gameplay and little to no plot worth playing.
