I love sarcasm. ;)
..... Unless you weren't being sarcastic. In which case, um... :|
(Edit: Oh, you were making fun of another thread. Somehow I'm less amused than I was 2 minutes ago.)

I swear, gamers these days are spoiled.
There used to be such a thing as wanting to beat a game because the act of beating it was its own reward. Those were in the days before save points and backtracking. Losing your last life on the last boss and having to start all over again... I miss 80s gaming sometimes.
Seriously,people... Leave your negativity at the door, will ya?
A Demo Channel would be a great addition. All it would take is some sort of system update for the Wii to handle 8GB SD cards, which are going for less than $70 these days, and there you have it, lots more storage. It would be even more awesome if a future system update would allow forexternal hard drive usage, and Nintendo IS partnering with a third party that specializes on drivers, more or less, for USB/Flash memory storage options.
As for games, I'm happy enough with what we already know is coming. Any new games, be they the next iteration of an already popular franchise or something new entirely, will be gravy on the KFC biscuit. In other words, tasty eats. ;)
In any case, what's true and what isn't will be revealed in a few short weeks, ne? Still, it's fun to speculate. :)

Yeah they lied about so much stuff you can't tell anymore.
Let's see... Does VASTLY overstating the real-world performance of the PS2 count?
Well, I guess a $500-plus price tag doesn't seem so bad compared to 700 large. Yipes. The difference between Panasonic and Sony is immense, though. Panasonic had how many consoles before the 3D0? Sony has had two highly successful consoles. I don't think their third is going in the crapper just yet. This bad boy has many GOOD years left on it.Peace.

The funny thing is that the 3D0 was introduced a full 2 years (in NA) BEFORE Sony even got into the console market, and it's not like Panasonic was an unknown brand at the time. Way back then, it was the most technologically advanced console, but was marketed more as a high-end multimedia device for the living room, which was how they thought they could justify the cost. To me, that just sounds eerily familiar.
As for the PS3, it does have the Playstation legacy which will ensure that the console will still sell, but the high cost of ownership isn't helping. History has show time and time again that no matter the features, video game consoles don't sell well when priced over $300. Note I didn't say they don't sell. Every console this generation is selling, but only the Wii is sellingnear the levels of the PS2 during the height of its popularity, which didn't occur until its price was dropped to $199.
[QUOTE="rudols"]I am not sure why people are complaining about the PS3 price. I for one have a 360 and a PS3 and I can tell you in terms of features and quality PS3 beats the 360 hands down. Now that Blu Ray is taking off it makes it even easier to justify the 600$ tag. The Blu Ray movies look fantastic. If you really do a side by side comparison of the PS3 and 360 features you will clearly see the PS3 is worth the extra $$$ in my opinion.
Even though I have a Wii, 360, and PS3 I find myself using the PS3 more than the Wii and 360.
HD DVD is dead! It is a fact after the Blockbuster annoucement. So if you buy a 360 + a Blu Ray player you are going to pay a way more than 600$. If your just buying it for games than I can see why 600$ might be too much but if you look at the total package it 's a great deal hands down.
TheGrossPervert
It's still the most expensive console ever. Thank God that a price drop is in the works.
No... The honor of being the most expensive console goes to the 3D0, which started at a staggering $699 in 1993. We all know happened to that console, right? ;)
*points to the quote in her sig*
I thought that was pretty stupid....
[QUOTE="Link5687"]With all these "intellectual debates" that take place on System Wars...I am wondering what the average age of or forum posters is. Please vote so the results are easily viewed.shoeman12
wheres the under 8 option? (not how old i am, how old i think lots of other posters are)
That was pretty amusing. ;) You know, I've kinda been wondering if this place has a large population of diaper-wearing toddlers myself...
As for me, I be not long into 30.. I'm probably getting too old for this place, not to mention the minority gender.
It's about time...
The Sonic universe would make for great role playing. I just hope there's more action and less "pick spell and pray you cast it first otherwise you're dead" or "random moster battle every 20 pixels." (FFIII is really annoying me at the moment, so you must excuse me.)
So what do you all think about this Mortal Kombat? I don't think I've ever played a game that has as much blood. I've heard rumors that Nintendo is censoring the gore... I'm smelling lawsuits. I've even heard that because of this game, the fedsthink video games should be rated just like movies.
How absurd...
