Sony said something incredibly similar when the overpriced PS3 was launching. But guess what? People don't care if the box has OVER $500 worth of hardware and software, just that it's $500 and no one wants to pay that, especially for this piece of crap.
@thenephariouson @gilldominic Visually it looked great, but the X1 is supposed to be running a graphics card similar to the Radeon 7790, and the PC's they demo'd the X1 games on at E3 had a GeForce GTX 780, which is a much, much better card. So don't take the visuals to heart too much.
@Slade968 Yes, they're attempting to reach the non-gaming consumer, much like the Wii. But the major difference in the Wii and the X1 is the price tag, which is what made the Wii sell so well in the first place.
@max-hit @Leivve @NuclearFlower The entire game isn't even QTE's, you're judging the game based on what little information you know about it, and the developers previous work. Don't be an idiot.
@Tychobrahi I get what you're saying, I'm sick of QTE's in general. But Heavy Rain is one of the only games I've ever played that prominently featured QTE's, and I was completely and totally fine with it. Quantic Dream knows how to incorporate them properly, and as long as that's the case, there's no problem. Beyond seems to be like Heavy Rain, just with more gameplay mixed in with story moments involving QTE's.
@blue_shift_91 @yearssomuch But it is being marketed as 'their innovation'. The whole point of the 24-hour check-in is to integrate cloud computing.. according to Microsoft, anyway.
The way I see it, it's simple. Always-online requirement coupled with a constantly running built-in Kinect camera turns me off of the console entirely, regardless of whatever crap excuses they come up with to convince you otherwise. The X1 is every Big Brother conspiracy theory I've ever read just waiting to happen, and anyone who aptly defends it has been brainwashed into thinking it's a good thing.
