Am I the only one who can't figure out why everyone keeps calling this a 'new' design? To me, this is just a slightly altered version of how they looked in the 90's films.
I was never very big on Darkstalkers, if at all, so I picked this up when it released as the reviews were good.. I've had a lot of fun with it personally. Unfortunately, the online mode is sort of dead in most cases, which is not at all a good sign when the game's barely been out a month. But in this day and age, if it's on console and it's not a modern military shooter, a lot of deserving games completely crash and burn. :/
What's truly worrying me about Durango is the Perma-DRM and built-in Kinect, and the fact that Microsoft is either saying absolutely nothing, or they have PR reps saying vague things like "Well I don't see the problem", only further hinting at its possible existence. If this truly is the case, how can they expect to compete with the PlayStation? Now Sony can just come out and say "We already have free online capabilities, and thanks to Microsoft attempting to change the standard, we now provide free ACCESS to your console, without needing to connect to some server somewhere."
I don't know if Microsoft's thinking that since they dominated this console cycle they'll definitely dominate the next one, but something has got their thought process seriously screwed if they think people are willing to pay the money this thing is going to cost, plus be denied the ability to even USE the goddamn thing if they happen to lose their internet connection. It was absolutely ridiculous when developers started applying these sort of draconian laws into their games, but this is an entire CONSOLE we're talking about. It's completely unbelievable to even EXPECT people to want such a shoddy piece of hardware.
@Keitha313 @VGjunkie87 PC developers are always pushing the potentials of what computers can do, with the new hardware that comes out, sooo.. you're wrong.
Well, it's certainly nice to confirm that Microsoft has GameStop in their back pocket. This is obviously PR damage control after their little 'Twitter debacle' this weekend. "Hey guys, we're enforcing more control over what you can and can't do, but we don't really see the problem with that!" Meanwhile, the internet rages with hate and disgust. Then, a few days later, here comes GameStop to say 'Oh yeah, the new Xbox is going to be great.. never mind the Perma-DRM and the fact that Microsoft wants to spy on you in your living room.. this device is very hot, and compelling. Look, attractive words, you consumers love that kind of crap, right?"
I really don't want to sound like 'that fanboy' that insists on hating one console over another, but seriously, the new Xbox is looking like something I want nothing to do with. If Big Brother was ever a thing, then the Xbox 720 is how it'll start.
I say 'Good'. Maybe it's just me, but Notch has always rubbed me the wrong way. I feel like yes, he knows the massive popularity for his game was something of a freak occurrence, but it doesn't change the fact that the success has given him a bit of an ego. Since then, I've simply heard him say some very, very stupid things, in fields and discussions he has no right to speak in.
Quite frankly, I'm surprised we haven't seen a game like this on consoles yet, be it from the OG devs at DayZ or some half-assed rip-off. It could be great if done properly.
I mean, does Hammerpoint believe that all press is good press? Because in War Z's case, it's not. At all. This game is a disaster, and a joke, and everyone knows it. It will never recover, it is done. Next?
Ah, War Z.. you beautiful, beautiful nightmare. First, they steal concepts off other developers, and almost the goddamn TITLE (no big deal, amirite?). Then, they steal concept art from other zombie-oriented media. THEN, they release the game early at full price, with almost all of the supposed 'big features' stripped out completely, and try to call it a full product. Now, they're telling what little is left of their fanbase that they got hacked because of the users inability to create a strong password? Jesus...
Eh, am I the only one who doesn't really care, and actually embraces a change? Maybe it's just me, but I haven't really enjoyed David Hayter's vocal talents for a really long time, especially in MGS4 and PW.. blugh.
Besides, Big Boss has had different voice actors in other games (MGS4, anyway), and since we're dealing with Big Boss here.. well...
Or maybe Hayter's in on it and Kojima just likes to stir up the pot.
