@shingui5 @Stringerboy No, they screwed Mass Effect with the second iteration when they turned the series into a generic, watered down, action-oriented third-person shooter, and only made it worse with ME3.
@WingChopMasta @gamingnerd121 Yeah, EA has already confirmed that they intend to include microtransactions in ALL of their games, from now into the future. ME3 had it for it's completely pointless multiplayer, but it was 'Spectre Packs' that would give you a random assortment of equipment, the condition of the equipment being better the more you pay.
'A switch from weapon-specific ammo to generic ammo was also done to facilitate the game's contentious addition of microtransactions, the source says. Visceral was also allegedly told to reign in the horror aspects and follow an action-focused approach similar to Mass Effect'
Ugh. Just another prime example of EA taking in a developer, allowing them to create an amazing universe, and then taking a giant crap on all of it. Destroy and de-emphasize what the series is known for, and add microtransactions. It's almost like EA alienated their fanbase, and didn't give them the respect they deserve.. oh, wait.
After all, the action-oriented gameplay, emphasis on co-op, and microtransactions are the top 3 reasons I'm in no rush to touch this game, despite buying the first two as soon as I could get my hands on them and replaying them even to this day. It's literally Mass Effect all over again, a fantastic series that had so much potential, only to turn into a dumbed-down TPS.
To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised EA didn't tell Visceral to make the game more like Battlefield.
You can't take a game that was released in 2008, developed on the other side of the PLANET, and then use it to instigate homophobia.. in 2013. It doesn't work that way. Besides that, I've seen many games give the player the ability to instigate some sort of homosexual relationship, but nah, let's keep the focus on the JRPG from 5 years ago because of a few sequences that don't entirely fit OUR culture.
I'm fine with homosexuality, but when people like Carolyn are trying to get people up-in-arms over homophobia with half-assed examples like this, it's just sad.
Maybe saying the game is 'Too Hard' hits peoples ego's, so that they're like "It's not too hard.. FOR ME!". Or maybe in this case, "My game's so controversial I probably won't even be allowed to sell it.. you know you want it. ;)"
It's amazing that he talks down on the competitions reveal into next-gen territory when Microsoft has been shit at reveals for the last 4 years. You're right Nelson, I can't wait to see all of the non-gaming oriented entertainment media integration garbage that Microsoft is going to shove down our throats THIS year. But hey, maybe they'll at least show us what the actual console is going to look like, right? BROWNIE POINTS 4 GAMERZ LOL. This guy is an idiot, no one takes him seriously and still he somehow manages to weasel himself into the gaming community, when no one wants him there.
From what I've heard about Durango, I don't even think I want it, especially if the Required Kinect Integration is true.. It's 'Big Brother' at the highest level, in your living rooms. Screw that.
