Updated: see first post for latest videos and preview from IGN :)

You'll really want to check out the videos, fast arcadey action, bloomy but nice looking. No music yet though. There is a video on the controls and HOLY HELL is the turning fast when the sensitivity is maxed out. :) The preview is quite positive too. I'm sensing at least an 8.0 and up on this one.

I just checked out the video on the controls. The video shows the controls set with the minimum dead zone box, yet the cursor still flies all over the screen. This "dead zone" only defines the area where you can aim without changing view, but it doesn't constrain the cursor at all. Why is that no one wants to lock the cursor to center on these Wii shooters? ARGH!!!

I think video games are the BEST way to tell a story...well, not all stories of course... ( Of Mice And Men: The Game? )

I think this because you're actually experiencing everything with the main character ( Protagonist? )

The best example I can think of is the Metal Gear Solid series...

I don't think MGS would work as well as a book or a movie...it's gotta be a game...

majinstrings

So videogames are the best way to tell a story ... so long as that story is about a guy who needs to proceed through a multitude of environments, killing a multitude of people along the way to achieve his ultimate objective. This format works all the way from medieval knights to zombies to space aliens. There is such a wide range of possibilities... and all portrayed with top notch acting that doesn't interfere at all with the person who wants to PLAY the game. :|

How does the videogame context work for a story about two friends who drift apart during their college years... or the family who is struggling with a child with lukemia ... or the story of a guy who is having second thoughts about marrying the girl he loves... orthe story ofthe 40 year old guy who has never got laid? It doesn't.

The original poster is bang on!

That's pretty much how I feel about it. I have bought so many games that I havent finished... the reason is, if I don't buy it now, I might forget to buy it. So I buy it and it sits on my shelf for a long time... and I keep telling myself "I need to play it"! I still havent played ninja gaiden sigma, metroid prime 3, or given any real time for halo 3... and I really want to focus on guitar hero the next few days. And then theres mass effect...

JustPlainLucas

Yeah, this is a main reason why I buy more than I can play. I'd rather have the game right away, just to not worry about either remembering to get it, or having to try to find it. Case in point: Disgaea 2. It's still sitting in my stack, unopened. I knew I wouldn't get to it right away, but I still bought it, since I remembered how hard it was to find a copy of the original after it came out.

And to bugsonglass, the Orange Box I'm playing is on the 360, although I don't sell my games anyway. :P

If you forget to buy a game and never get around to playing it, is it really that tragic? Why do you feel that you must play so many games? Is it because you really enjoy them so much, or is it for your status in these forums, or is it for some other reason? Unless it's the first one, I'd suggest dropping the whole thing and looking for some new hobbies.

This game (and Mario) could convince me to buy a Wii. If Timesplitters 4 ends up on the Wii, that will seal the deal.

I want the final fight to be as challenging as it possibly can be.foxhound_fox
I'm glad to see that some people still want to PLAY games ... not just "experience" them.

I may sound as if I am contradicting myself here, but I do not agree with censorship. If they show somebody die, so be it. But if you have somebody ruthlessly killing another person with a crowbar taking out their organs, that is going too far. When they add unnecessary violence, that is when I start shaking my head.I think ESRB is doing the right thing by at least banning the AO version of this game. Violence is okay. Decapitations, amputation, and suffocating is when I think the line should be drawn. I am currently writing a few papers about censorship (both for and against), so think twice before you label me as Jack Thompson who just wants to get rid of violence in video games. I actually think animated violence is actually helpful in society to show us what could happen, but this took it too far and I am not going to support it. I know just one missed sell is not going to change anything, but I hope that a few other people go in my direction and not support such abysmal games.

These statements are not contradictory, but this one is.

Underrating a game is far more damaging than overrating a game. There might be someone that is not to bright with gaming that for whatever reason only uses this site to check for reviews, and desides to pass on this game cause of it, that is a huge shame. dvader654
Yes, the kids should be playing more games and getting out less.

This is where you and I differ most. I think the vast majority of games are derivative and borderline crap. I think the average review score should be less than 5. The fact that the average game is reviewed as "good" or "very good" is just self-serving on the part of these review sites. They promote the industry even though most games are not worth playing (imo).

Assuming the reviewer is accurate in his comments, I'm glad to see short easy games take criticism. Games that only deserve a rental don't deserve 8+ scores imo.

The game is not on the short side. It ranges from 10-15 hours depending on your pace and skill. I am basing my opinion on all that I have read and I am pretty sure so are you. So I seriously do not where are you coming from. Why does it deserve only a rental? Please do tell us.

Well, I like value. If I buy a game for $50, play it for15 hours, and then it gathers dust, then I don't consider that good value. However if the game is considerably more fun and challenging on the higher difficulties, then that's a different thing. I guess I'd rent the game first to see if the higher difficulty settings add anything new. (I'd be renting a PS3 too though, 'cause buying that doesn't seem like good value to me yet either ;) )

Do you know what would be cool "Jesus vs. Satan" and its a beat-em-up and you have to fight satan and a bunch of demons as jesus his special attack could be hands of the holy where you shoot wight beams from your hands! that would be so awsome!ps3wii22
Isn't Jesus' "special attack" (and btw, his only attack) to turn the other cheek? How fun is that?
