Screw Force Unleashed... I prefer Knights of the Old Republic

The more I play Star Wars : Knights of the Old Republic , the more I feel that the rest of the Star War games are but pathetic excuses of a game.

Essentially , you take control of a custom-made character ( Whose background is a secret due to spoiler reasons =w= ) and you are a Republic soldier onboard a fleet under assault from the Sith.
Note that this event took place way before the time of Starkiller and even Anakin himself , as the words "Old Republic" suggests.

Soon enough , you've realised that the raiders have taken hold of Bastila , a Jedi skilled in the ways of Battle Mediation and thus , you found yourself thrusted into the task to save her.

After saving her ( and after a dozen events and side-quests and what not... ) , you find yourself trained by the Jedi Council ( Because the Force is strong in you , a typical setting , really :P ) and soon enough , you became a Padawan given the task to find the "Star Forge" , along with Bastila , in order to stop Lord Malak from achieving whatever he intends to achieve.

Interestingly , the main character , despite being a "Custom Made" character , plays a very important role in the storyline unlike other RPGs which features a similar system. For once , I feel as though my "Custom Character" is REALLY there , not like other RPGs like Phantasy Star Portable and God Eater Burst of which I feel that my character is somewhat translucent in the plotline.

What's more , you can choose to be good , or to be evil. Well , I admit , I've tried to be evil at first but my conscience starts to throb pretty badly and all so I ended up being good :o
Naturally , your alignment will also affect your Jedi powers.

Anyways , I've never expected a Star Wars RPG to work out so well , sure , the game does look pretty mechanic in nature , but for an RPG , I daresay they did good.
... Though since it's developed by Bioware as well , I'm kinda hoping that they'd put abit more effort into the swordfights like they did with The Witcher.

Anyways , May the Force Be With You , my Sith Apprentices >:D

Is terrorism being dealt with properly?

This is more of a personal view...

Well , many countries detain , prevent and stop possible terrorist activites across the globe , but the thing is , these are little more than short-term measures.

Even if we cut off their heads ( Their leaders ) , even if we place their organisation in shambles , we seem to have forgotten that what keeps these people together is the idea in itself.

These people would always be there as long as the idea itself exists. An idea that converts the views of the people. The true enemy isn't these known leaders of the terrorist in question , the true enemy is the idea itself.
Terrorism will continue if the "idea" was passed on , to put it simply , the idea is what these people worships and the people are the agents to act out it's will for they believe in it.

If we can not stem the flow of this "belief" that they burn deep in their hearts , we can not permanently end terrorism , we can stall it , we can keep the people safe from it , but we can not it away since it is something that is passed on from people to people.
So , how exactly do we end this War in question if we do not even have the means to defeat this enemy in question?

It is like fighting against a hydra , when one head is destroyed , another takes it's place , the only means to end it is to stem it from the root.

Started playing Amnesia - A horror , but in it's own way

Well , the atmosphere of the game is superb and all but...
I won't really call it the "horror" one would expect from the word itself.

The monsters that chases you about isn't that scary in terms of their appearances , but the fear incurred in this game is how you slowly lose your sanity due to the protaginist's weak mind , the dark atmosphere surrounding the game , some of the surprise factors , the dark in-depth storyline , the first-person view and the will to survive.

It is not without a point when they say that you do not win in this game - you survive.

There is no means in granting permanent victory against these horrors , all you can do in this game is use your wits and fear to survive. The suspense and horror comes not from shock factors , but it comes from the atmosphere and the instinct to survive.

When you start off playing the game , you would stop thinking that it is a game. The realistic controls , the heavy atmosphere , the helplessness instilled into the player and the fear incurred upon sight of a beast you have no means to defend yourself against.

It's not the most graphically impressive game nor does it have the most awesome controls , but sometimes , simplicity itself can incur the greatest fear within us , by playing with our wills to live.

To put it simply , horror in this game does not come from shock factors , the phenomenal beings , the fear of the unknown , but it comes from our most basic and primal instinct , the desire to live.
This game toys with survival , you fear not because of the monster's apperance , you fear because you fear death itself.

Indeed , this is one of the few survival horror games of it's time, it truly brings back the true meaning of "survival horror" , something Resident Evil would never comprehend.

I'm kinda worried about the PSN breach

Meh , I havea feeling that Sony have been delivered a blow strong enough to see Odin flying through his throne in Asgard , their literally plaqued with negative publicity , the loss of faith infans and followers, panic amongst PSN users , a lawsuit and their literally cornered from where I can see it.

Even FBI is on the case now , though I wonder if they could manage to track whoever was behind this down. If this guy managed to cleanly cut his or her way through the security measures of the PSN , I won't be surprised if they can manage to cover their tracks as cleanly as they breached through the security measures of the servers.

Hackers are getting more frightening by the day , no? =.=

Revolutions... Protests... Weddings... Disasters... This world is going nuts

Well , this world is probably going in a downwards spiral.

We have revolutions , protests , recessions , economic inflations, global crisis , international crisis , security threats , terrorists , increase in military potential in China , the flipping of the world's dominant economic powers , political issues , large-scale disasters , man-made disasters , oil spills , radioactive waves and admist it all , a Japanesepolitician losing his composure as heyells at the inefficiency ofnational authorities in saving the people ofhisareaand admist it all ,people are going nuts about Prince William's wedding.

On the long-run , we have global warming , the ozone layer getting ripped into half , rise in crime rates ( Makes me wish Yagami Light exists ) , shifts in the global temperature , rise in water levels , the melting of the ice caps , extensive deforestation , pollution , nuclear power , depleting resources and the rising population of humans in the world.

We even had a meteorite missing Earth's gravitational field by a bit a few years ago.

The more I look at it , the more screwed up we seem to be. =.=

Why PC gaming ain't dead yet.

Just a little rant of mine...

Positive Factors

I. Custom Control Mapping
Left-handed , right-handed , when your playing on PC , matters like this hardly matters.
If you don't like the controls , you can map it anyway you want - for most games.
Ease of controls , that's what make PC gaming flow.

II. Mods
Modification of game data is the easiest on the PC. It's certainly possible on the PSP , Xbox360 , the PS series and various other consoles , but a modder's favourite is still the PC.
Mods can be pretty important in bolstering the fun factor of a game as well , for one thing , Oblivion would've bored my pants out ifnot for the mods available out there.

III. More In-Depth Multiplayer content
Sure , the PS3 , Wii and Xbox360 features online play , but the PC is still a personal favourite.
For one , you can chat with ease in the game and chatting amongst a sea of crossfire is what makes a multiplayer game a multiplayer game.

IV. The starting grounds for Indie Games
PC is the homeground for potential indie games and I must say , some of them are actually pretty good.
Certainly , most of them are old-school , but there are some 3D ones and their not even half-bad.
What's more , indie and doujin games comes at a cheaper price compared to official games , so if your looking for something more simplistic for a change , there's always and alternative.

V. Visual Novels
Eh , this is something more personal but most Visual Novels start off on the PC.

Drawbacks of PC Gaming

I. Expensive to Maintain
A computer is expensive to maintain , to be specific , a gaming computer.
You need to make sure it's up to date , the graphics card is good , the processor is good and sometimes , the network adaptor have to be godly as well.

II. Some awesome games aren't on PC
Like Metal Gear Solid , Persona and the Tales series.
Some games just don't make it to the PC.

III. More easily subjected to "cheating"
Games like , for example , Crysis Ihad some pretty bad Multiplayer experience solely caused by "hackers" who made use of the loop in the game data to cause some serious disruption in the online experience.
Still , I guess I'm grateful for the booting system.

IV. Can't enjoy a "full experience"
If your PC's specs is average , or below average , you'd have a very tough time in playing high-spec games like Grand Theft Auto.
Turning everything to low ain't gonna make a game pretty either.

Short updates

Just some heads-up once in a while lest I become a particle in your memories :P

Gaming Updates :

Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim
I've enjoyed Oblivion... well , technically speaking if you don't count the fact that it feels pretty lonely in the game , but otherwise yes , I'd look forward to buying this game.
According to the modders , I've heard that Skyrim is running on a different engine , so I suppose the modders are going to have it tough.

The Witcher : Assassin of the Kings
Generally speaking , I'm appalled by what they had done to the gameplay. Then again , I was watching the console version of the trailer.
I'd prefer the Point-and-Click version of this game.
Then again , the stuffy graphics and physics in this game kinda put me off , hopefully they'd managed to fix this in time =.=

Grand Theft Auto IV
I'm not too "in" into the GTA series but still , I guess I got the game one way or the other.
GTA IV proves to make it's mark from the previous installments with slightly more interesting missions ( Well , there's still the typical "bring a truck with all the bombs in it to a certain area" ) and some elements of the game is improved.
Still , this game still isn't kind on non-racer gamers like me.

God Eater : Burst
God Eater Burst proves to be fairly interesting for it seems to be a hybrid of Persona ( Artwork and Design ) , Monster Hunter ( General Gameplay ) and Phantasy Star Portable ( General Gameplay )
Still , the gameplay does need some brushing up , it lacks diversity compared to Monster Hunter and the storyline needs improvements.
... I'm still wondering whether there is a Dating SIM feature in this game though , the protaginist is oddly close to Alisa :o

Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy
I am fairly disappointed if I must say so myself.
Dissidia Duodecim is just Dissidia with a prequel and some bonus content.
Sure , the new characters are great , the new maps are cool , the storyline is touching and the bonus plotlines are interesting , but the original cast are boring now.
For one thing , the original characters aren't majorly improved nor have their movesets been widely expanded.
Still , the general gameplay is fixed to such a state that Dissidia is more challenging and have lengthier battles compared to before.

Dead or Alive : Paradise
I don't know what went over my head , but I've decided to try this game out.
I always have this urge to try out a game if the rating is bad :P
Still , I must say that this game isn't... all too bad at all. Well , the volleyball side of things is actually pretty fun and trying to grab all the costumes ( Or rather , swimsuits ) by earning as much as you can kinda drives my RPG instincts.
... Though you can't deny that this game is impossibly perverted in it's other fields.

Last Rebellion
A horrid game indeed...
The gameplay is too overly complex with a system of a typical Turn Based RPG , the graphics are below average and the physics of the characters is just bad.
The storyline's pretty interesting and all but it's kinda of a drag to play through this in the first place.

Atelier Rorona
Compared to the other Atelier series , this one seems to be more focused on younger female audiences.
For one thing , it features more alchemy than fighting , the battle system isn't as in-depth for one thing.
I find myself in a hustle and a bustle as I try to make the items in time for my assignments and requests , it may look cute and innocent but the gameplay can be unforgivingly savage at times... in terms of handing in your assignment in time.

Hyperdimension Neptunia
The more I play it , the less I like it.
Well , this is more or less a "below-average" game if I must say so myself , with all that moe and whatnot.
It features a trashy plotline , though it doesn't hold as much humor as in Disgaea( NEED. MOAR. EPIC. RANDOMNESS!! ) and the gameplay itself is kinda unique but badly developed.
Generally speaking , this game have it's potential but it's kinda messed up.

Agarest : Generations of War
I'm replaying it again since I wanna unlock all possibilities within the storyline.
The gameplay itself is very old-school , but I guess it's decent for a SRPG , though since it's on console , it should brush up a little and start to mimic games like Final Fantasy Tactics or something.
Though the defining trait of this game is the unique storyline system of which the storyline doesn't conclude with the initial protaginist as it continues on for five generations.

Another Century Episode R
Sheesh , I've encountered another bad Mecha game.
I guess I should've known since Gundam was affliated with it , but my impression of Gundam games have improved a lot since Gundam vs Gundam and Gundam : Assault Survive.
The game feels a bit stiff and limited , not to mention somewhat repetitive.
What's more , I'm horrified that they've included those SEED pilots and NOT Gundam Wing and G Gundam pilots.
THIS IS AN INSULT!!

Catherine
I'm sure you guys know about the English version and all...
Hopefully they won't cut out any of the decent stuff of the game for all it's dark morality and what not , I want it freshly baked from the oven with translation as the side-dish.

Visual Novel Updates

Lightning Warrior Raidy II
...... Man , this game is just perverted :o
Still , it's in my blood to complete and Visual Novel no matter how bad it is , then again , for a perverted Visual Novel , it's actually pretty good in terms of it's storyline , at least it isn't as sick as some other VNs I've encountered.

Waiting for some Visual Novel and their translations...
Currently , I'm praying that there would be a translation of White Album on the PS3 , not to mention Rewrite and Tsukihime's prequel which features Aoko as the heroine...

Clannad ( PS3 )
Mmm... I'm tracking the PS3 version of Clannad for sometime now , though I've already played the PC version.
Oh well , maybe I should reconsider.

Rune Lord
I got interested ever since I've noticed a banner of this amongst a user in another site so I've started diggin' around for it and found out it's name and the official site and....
.... I wasn't expecting a Mecha-related plotline.

Anime and Manga updates

Fate/Zero
The one Anime I'm looking forward to.
THE PREQUEL OF FATE/STAY NIGHT!!

Freezing ( Manga )
Screw 'da Anime , it's an insult to the Manga!
READ IT!!

The World God Only Knows ( Anime and Manga )
I've been a fan of the Manga series so I'm thorougly pleased by how loyal the Anime is to the Manga , though the intro part is a bit hasty and all.

Gosick
I haven't actually went around to watch it yet , I'm not too keen in watching any Anime from the recent listing since their either boring or perverted but well , a detective loli isn't something you see everyday.

Net Stories

I'm still continuing my net story crap onBlogspot , PM me if you want the link or something.
I think I wanna restructure the story I'm working on now though :X

Just some parting words...

God... the title makes me sound like a dying man XD

Well , I thought it would be appropriate if I... err... have some "parting words" when I leave Gamespot ( Though I may make review and poke you guys once in a while.... I'm not gonna be active around here if I can help it )

Well , whose first...

EGOE :
Seems like your up first :P
Well , here it goes...
A man's love for his country is a rare sight , but a blind devotion is not wise.
For the benefit of his country , one must always listen , determine , embrace and accept the faults of his own country and fellow people.
No country is perfect , no human is perfect , by embracing and changing it , then can you change your country for the better.

Hanzoadam :
My words are less sophisticated and much more simple for you...
Cut the slack on the Anime load and go out with your girlfriend more

Marmotas :
Just wondering , how many Selveria figurines are you intending to buy? :o

Goeniko :
Try not to be so critical most of the times :X

BlazikenTails64 :
Dude... or rather , lass , it's been a great time commenting on your blogs , since I find it particularly challenging to post on something I have no knowledge of Austrailian stuff nor do I watch the same things as you do :o

Kruiz_Bathory :
... Well , your gonna see me in FB anyways so there's no point XD

wensea :
Still a fan of Bruce Lee? :P

As for the rest of you... I can't think of anything to write :o
Well , either way , stay tight , stay firm , stay upright. That's all I can say :3

Sayonara

I reckon I'd leave Gamespot completely now :X

Well , I may return once in a while to poke at you guys for the fun of it , but overall , I won't be hanging around here anymore :3

Radioactive substances seeping into the soil....

If your following the Japan Earthquake news , officials are sending helicopters to pour water over radioactive reactors that had blown up because of a threat it poses - contamination of the world's water table.

A water table is essentially... Well , groundwater basically and groundwater is actually one of the few things humans can expect to find clean water of.
Basically , the high temperatures and what not of the blown reactors and the radioactive substances are seeping into the soil so... Well , now you at least have an idea of the situation.

This doesn't solely concern Japan anymore , this will seriously affect the Earth's water supply to a certain extent :X
Things are starting to sound just a bit grim....
