@whocaresrly game length is really relative to how you want to play it. there is a ton of content if you a re interested in this type of game. like i said, it's only 1-2 hours if you play it that way. you don't have to rush through everything, and the game is far more rewarding to saver the moment and fully engulf yourself in the experience.
it's only short if you want it to be. to explore the whole thing, taking my time, trying to be totally stealthy (and still failing at it!), it took my around three to four hours to do the main story. it took me less time to do a side mission, but i can't wait to try both again and do better and better. if this is any indication, The Phantom Pain is worth the wait.
@fanirama so why are you posting here about this? it's insane to keep hearing the exact same things come from people posting over and over again on Gamespot. if you feel slighted by their opinions, by all means, look somewhere else for an opinion that more closely adheres to your ideas about something. just because i reviewer doesn't get crazy hype about something doesn't mean they didn't like it, and objectively, one has to put a game in it's place within the world around it. is the Avengers a good movie? not really, but it was fun for a lot of people to watch; is Citizen Kane a good movie? absolutely, but it's not really very fun.
@Swan_Ronson8475 @stan_boyd yeah, c'mon. there is a pretty simple disclaimer in there. it's like you can't publicly dislike anything or ask for change to the formula without being called a hater or without being berated for it. there's no flame war here, just some comments told in an intelligible fashion.
i try not to bring this stuff up, but please, Gamespot, can we get another ad, please? i can't tell you how many videos i have just turned off as soon as i hear that "kssshhh... this is spartan Sara Palmer" line. i have sat through that maybe 200 times already and honestly can't handle anymore of it.
