I played Doom 2 before the original and Diablo 2 before the original. Usually the expansion or sequel is a refined experience so it would be the better buy.

I am a hermit :P. I just happen to have very picky tastes and have gotten burned to many times with games that look good but are complete crap (oblivion and fear come to mind). As far as crysis goes, don't worry I will get it but I would most likely get Warhead first since that happens to be cheaper and is longer than the original. Whiteblade999

I played the demo but wasn't overly impressed. I will get it when the price is lower but not worth it for $40. Graphics are the last thing I look at, they are ok but I play a game to play it and not look at it. If all I wanted was eyecandy I would go watch a movie.

It ran on high on my system just fine; I just wasn't overly impressed with the gameplay even though the nanosuit was a good touch. As far as the demo goes I use that as a major decision on buying a game; back in the day when we had shareware (lol I'm 17 and I sound old) you would get a good amount of the game and it was eaiser to make the decision of whether to buy it or not. Had the demo been longer I would have maybe changed my mind.

It is true that graphics can add to gameplay a whole lot, and immerse you in another world (like oblivion) or in a more realistic setting (like COD4)
