Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Graphics Comparison

Uhhhhhh, was this game ran on a toaster? It looks FAR superior to this on my PC.

Tried em all first hand thanks to my console peasent friends.

Doesnt matter if you install HD Pack or not. Even with a DECENT PC , it crushes the console easily.

There is no comparison.

@Dizoja86 I can assure you, that is not the case, at least for me. I have R9 290 - 4GB VRAM and use the ultra texture pack, I hardly see any drop in FPS or it is in the margin of error which is 2-3 fps.

@Lord_Sesshy What do you mean out of the box? PC Games are always downloaded in the first place and this texture pack is an official download.

How many times do i have to tell you GS, 1080P on a PC was like 5 years ago. Do you know what 1440 P is? How about 4K? Keep it simple and just compare those boxes under the tv. Just leave the PC out. Its like comparing the combat arsenal of the US vs ISIS.

The only reason a comparison makes sense if the video is 50mbps without the compression of a webplayer. Seriously, why does GameSpot do like this? You will never see a difference this way.

Either somebody mistakenly set the PC settings to Low, or PC gamers really got screwed with this game. The graphics problems for the PC version comparison shots go far beyond texture detail. It's missing shading and atmospheric effects as well.

@Lord_Sesshy @Poison-tooth It's not adding anything. The textures were already a part of the game, but it's up to people to decide whether their computers are capable enough to make the extra install size worthwhile. It'll suck up 3.5gb of VRAM at 1440p, so only the current highest end cards will be able to run it at those settings. This is probably an area where consoles will actually have a single advantage over PC's for the next year or so due to their unified memory architecture, at least until 6-8gb graphics cards work their way into the mainstream. Luckily it probably won't be much of an issue, as most XONE and PS4 games won't be making use of anywhere near that much memory due to processing limitations.

Until CD Projekt or Dice release a new game, these comparisons are pointless.

This has to be some sort of a joke! There's no way you can accurately portray the graphics quality of the PC version in this video when the PC version runs at 60 frames per second to 100 frames per second. And you can't see the detail of the HD pack. I have the Ps4 version and the PC version and the differences are enormous! When you compare the two, the Ps4 version looks like it could be the PS3 version by comparison! Not to say that the PS4 version looks bad, but it is that dramatic a difference when it's compared to the PC version of this game. It's sad, because the PC version is what next-generation should look like on the consoles and everyone is slowly being brainwashed to get used to the subpar graphics and frame rate that these new consoles are putting out.

No point in including PC version. Not only are high-end PCs untouchable in terms of GFX quality, but the variability in quality depending on hardware specs and software tweaking is ginormous.

It does look like the PS4 was the best...glad I didn't buy it on Steam.

I've seen some gameplay of this; it's essentially assassins creed but with worse graphics. Glad I didn't pick this up. Maybe someday when it's in the bargain bin -or free on games w/ gold.

I hate being picky because they all look exactly the same 99% through, but it's a little unfair that they clearly didn't calibrate the monitor correctly before recording on PC so it's extremely washed out, which is deceitful since it actually looks much more rich when playing it. And if I have to be "that guy" the wagon at 1:26 looked *slightly* higher resolution on PS4 than even on PC. Maybe just better lighting effects. Interesting stuff!

They all look pretty damn similar and great!

They all look good, but Who ever recorded off the PC Needs to turn the Gamma / Brightness down.

I hate to judge on these videos because I'm gonna be playing the game on a 50 inch TV or a large computer screen depending. PS4 looks pretty good, and I'd like to use a controller for this type of game so PS4 it is.

The differences are so tiny I cant see them.

I'm not seeing anything that pushes one over the other. They need to turn down the brightness on the pc but otherwise, they're all pretty much identical.

Let this be one of the games that puts the ridiculous 1080p debate to rest. PS4 and XB1 are both great. There, I said it.

Huh, I don't see much of a difference between xbox one and ps4. What do you guys think?
