The latest Dragon Age is turning out to be my biggest disappointment this year. The trailers show epic dragon fights and action, but 5 hours in and I've seen one dragon - and he flew off and I couldn't fight him!?! There's also too much story and incredibly dull quests.

@Sevenizz Funny thing... the actual fights with dragons do actually feel epic. The thing about something being epic is... it needs a few things, suspense, preparation etc. If you switch on the console and are battling dragons straight away, where's there to work towards? what's there to look forward to?


I spent 55 minutes fighting a dragon the other day... then I died. Was it epic? you bet.

I shouldn't have to suffer a boring story I can't skip with the gameplay being lackluster till I get there.

The tedium is a major letdown in a videogame. I don't recall anything of the sort in early gaming.

Again, the narrative is ruining gaming.

@Sevenizz there are a total of 11 dragons (more then any past DA game ) to fight and if you tried to fight it 5 hours in it would kill you

I feel the exact opposite. Taking over 5 hours to get the first word of the game's title is a major problem. I feel like I was had by the epic scale of the trailers only to be stuck spending the majority of my time running around killing random rams for literal scraps.

In Titanfall, I was in a Titan 2 minutes after training and the gameplay is phenomenal. If I want a good story, I'll watch a movie.

The narrative is ruining gaming.

To me, this whole year was full of disappointing games. I can't seem to think of any games that i really liked. Yes there were some fine games but nothing truly exceptional...


Oh well, next year seems the total opposite of that though, so hopefully that'll make up for this dull year.

@4kgamer_lmxxx Not a surprise. Infamous Second Son, Dragon Age, Shadow of Mordor, great games, but agree with you, NO WOW factor in them. IT HAPPENS EVERY 1ST YEAR OF A NEW CONSOLE. Gamecube, PS2, 3DS, PS3, etc, much have nothing "exceptional" on year 1. Announcement of Batman AK and PS4 at higher price (in Canada) made me buy it, but right now, its a disappointment as well. Cant believe so much PS3 can do that PS4 cant do (ex: put a wallpaper, organise your way, create profiles for your games, etc).

@Charlie_1979 @4kgamer_lmxxx I thought Shadows of Mordor was a great game that had a wow factor. Probably because I really didn't expect it to be as good as it was. The nemesis system was fun. The game's combat and skill system was well done.

Only thing lacking was multiplayer :p

Destiny - great graphics and gunplay, gets repetitive real quick, non-existent story, RNGeezus, withheld content purposely to nickel and dime, shame on Bungie and Activision.

AC:Unity - broken mess, not worth playing. All gamers should boycott Ubisoft, seriously

Watch Dogs - decent gameplay, buggy, shallow, crap characters, Oh, right...Ubisoft...

ESO - horrible MMO, clear cash grab trying to ride the success of the awesomeness of Oblivion and Skyrim, Zenimax should be ashamed dragging a great franchise like TES through the mud like that. Hopefully they learned, and TES VI will be amazing... in like 6 years. -_-


All in all, it's been a crap year. Shadow of Mordor was good and Dragon Age too (despite it's weak, LGBT sponsored characters and average story). We got the same CoD and sports games. The exclusives on both next gens sucked, unless you like Forza. In fact it's kinda sad I had more fun with free PS+ games and Tales of Xillia 2 on PS3 than any new release.

Good show guys, but umm, bring Lucy next time. :)

Watch Dogs. Ugh, I was soooo looking forward to that game too. Glad I waited for the reviews! I smelled a cynical money grab from the first whiff of Elder Scrolls Online though. I hope Mr. Zenimax (Altman) learned something from that one.
