Why I'm Not Excited for Forza Motorsport 6

Opinions are opinions so I can't say your wrong, but I feel that way. It seems this should be titled, "Why I love Horizon 2".

So I'm just going to knock Horizon. None of the Horizon demos got me interested in buying. While some people may call them fun simulators, it's just empty to me. I loved the idea of an open word, but it was a shame that the cars didn't feel as good as they do in the legit Forza games. It was like Forza with a safety helmet. And worse, there's this strange idea that the car/fun enthusiast loves music festivals. I can't begin to understand that, yet it's central to the games. I'd play Midtown Madness (1 & 2) over Horizon any day.

Forza 6 looks to be a good game and I'm excited for it. It's just a shame that DLC has become central to the series. Do we really need a Standard, Limited and Deluxe version or whatever they're called? Just put out a solid game without having to buy half of the content after release.

Forza 3 and 4 still do me fine. I still play the heck out of them, and make tons of cars. 5 sucked, and FH 2 looks good, but wears thin after a while. We need MOTORSTORM for PS4!!! Something to compete, i'll take it any day over this.

I love that Horizon has been added to the Forza lineup, and I'm looking forward to the inevitable Horizon 3 more than Forza 6. They don't need to be the same thing, but still neither product really delivers.

Horizon should have persistent online instead of drivatars.

Forza should have rally tracks in addition to asphalt.

Both still feel like incomplete products. Which is sad, because Forza is the only reason to own an X1.

Is manipulative when companies announce games that are less then 65% on there way to store shelfs.

It might be the next E3 and a game still haven't release. On the other hand Microsoft announced games that will deliver this year!! I don't know where Sony would have been if Microsoft haven't screwed up at launch. If there wasn't a slight deference in graphics. My GOD I think we would have been looking at communist state run by Microsft lol. Microsoft delivery is unmatch in the industry. The Ps4 hasn't screwed up at all and the race is so tight. The way Microsoft scewed up at the beginning was enough for it to be a Sony dominated industry. What's keeping Sony from outpacing and destroying Microsoft. Give that some thought please?? Microsoft delivery is unmatch giving gamers what they want listening to what gamers want. Have ya seen the Xbox controller elite?? Is controller heaven a modern marvel. I have been waiting for grand turismo to come out to give Ps4 a spin still Sony hasn't delivery on what should have been a launch title while Microsoft has deliver on forza 5 horizon 2 and now forza 6 and still no grandturismo sony should be ashamed. With all Xbox inclusive contract with car manufacturers I doubt that grand turismo will ever be what it once was. it just might be why they taking so long to deliver

So, you like arcade racers. Forza Motorsport is about technical driving prowess, not open world flying around. They are two different things entirely. You don't have to love track racing, but many others do.

Idk, i'm way more excited for Gran Turismo 7, not only will it have 1000 fully customizable premium cars, but it will also have an in depth track editor/creator,Car Audio lead engineer from Turn 10/sms/simbin and bizare creations sound engineers, a confirmed in depth livery editor, real time day and night/ weather all ALL tracks, completely redone physics engine, all the forms of racing under the sun from rally to GT, i gotta say, the return of the king with GT7 on PS4 is looking real.

Forza 5 sucks the assists that you can't turn off speed sensitive steering, car only having 540 degree of wheel rotation even when you set it to 900 plus turn 10 telling you to use 360 degree wheel rotation. The physics are ok but the itre models is off tires should have more grip. The lack of tracks is what really killed it for me the career gets very boring racing the same track over and over again. No market place to buy used cars or sell, auction. Turn 10 really need to step it up this time sure they where rushed with forza 5 to make it a launch title but now the competition is on another level. Make forza 6 for the hardcore forza players not for beginners nobody buys racing games that hasn't played on before pure sim is was I want.

Forza games are just like most modern games, a dying or dead money cow being milked to the last drop, I doubt people haven't even notice how often these things come out... it's at the same number as Gran Turismo... but Gran Turismo's been around since the ps1 days, pathetic naive b^astards, wake up.

I like both genres.. smashing into constant obstacles gets a bit much sometimes.. so back to the track :)

Great video, I love Horizon for the same reasons, but I need my track fix every now and again. I'm definitely looking forward to FM6 and what Project CARS have to offer.

Great article. I agree 100%. It was Paradise and Horizon 1 that put the final nails in the coffin of track only racing games for me. It's gonna take something blind blowing out of the typical rinse and repeat defining box for that genre to get me to pick up one of those track only based games again.

I also would like to see drivers who just play to run into everybody get a penalty for doing so. It can really ruin the multiplayer experience. I have had to block sooo many jerks who will follow you from race to race.

I my opinion both are great series. I like the every other year release schedule. If you don't like track racing just play Horizon. I like both but prefer track racing. Storm Island DLC is excellent, great rally racing. I think Forza 6 will be great, hopefully with all the tracks from Forza 4 this time and weather effects.

...What else can you expect from a review by a guy who's not into track racing?

I'm really dissapointed of what T10 did with FM5. It lacks of everything. After long time, there's still no bug fixes and no new content.

Turn 10 sees that their game wouldn't be the only "console sim" anymore. P.Cars is on it's way so I hope that this time they will give us what we really want.

A person, who is excited for just another boring (pseudo-)realistic Car-Game, can't be sane anyway.

I just hope Forza 6 won't be dumbed down like 5 was. The car selection wasn't anything to skype home about (because who writes anymore, right?), I can't sell cars that I don't want and end up cluddering my garage and the customizing options were pretty lacking compared to the older games. The AI adapting other players driving style was a bit of a nice touch though.

Is just a guy opinion, does not change any of the felling that we have for racing in race tracks! I'll bet that it will be great and he will be the designated one for the review and will swallow his anticipated opinion... By the way Drive Club it is a great serious game, don't give a damn for this guy opinion.

I'm excited.this should be VR compatible.since microsofts VR headset should be coming out soon

Never liked the Forza series personally. Cars feel way too floaty, the driving line is annoying, and mainly, the games just lack the personality and fun factor of the Dirt series, Blur, etc.

Gamespot be reporters. Why must your opinion of a game before the game comes out be so negative. Your feelings is yours. Forza is still the best racer ever. And by the way if any other racing game is announced you should also release how unhappy you are. If the best game announces another game how can you not be stoked. This is a pony article. You can say that about all sequels being release on the new systems. The GT series is dead so try again...You pony!! Forza is the only true racer available and you trippin.

Why I think Andy Bauman's point is ,...pointless!

1. The Forza Motorsport 6 announcement was meant to announce a partnership between Ford and Turn 10 for the next Forza.

2. Turn 10 has always indicated a will to build a solid following for Forza among real car enthusiasts.

3. Where better to do that than at the Detriot motorshow.

4. Gamers have E3 this year to look forward to the first game footage of the upcoming Forza and I am sure there will be enough information to tickle your fancy Andy..

Keep in mind that this is the same guy who was a part of that "Xbox One is NOT worth buying" video. Afterwards, the console turned out to be the best selling for November and December. This guy's Fake, Pretentious opinions really don't mean shaaaat!!! Really, if you thought that Horizon 2 was so epic, why didn't you guys give it a 9.0 score ? hmmm ?

All that talk about great driving games reminds me how good Forza Horizon (the first one) was.. best game on my xbox360.. maybe togehter with Forza4 and Alan Wake... from the exclusives at least.. sadly i sold the 360. But i am now happy with GT6 and the Driving Force GT... a driving wheel really shows you how the developers meant those games to feel... your mileage of course may vary..

The thing is GT6 still blows my mind.. i cant even imagine how GT7 will feel and look like.. so sadly yes.. i am not excited either for Forza6, but i really hope its good..

Forza has always had a decent addition to the game, regardless of how good the prior one was. Forza was a HUGE improvement to Forza 4, though it lacked, and still lacks, the content in Forza 4.

Forza 6 already will have at least 95% of the cars in Forza 5, and likely ALL of the new cars from Forza Horizon 2. They have finished Nurburgring, and can be guessed to ship with the game, so with 50% of my gripe already shuttered, they just need to make good on the other 50% of the details still missing from Forza.

-Improve Photomode immensely... This was a huge disappointment in FM5... the game is a graphical masterpiece, and we get 2.1 megapixel photos... sad.

-Improve the Field of View settings... The old games had a multi-monitor mode, that allowed you to move the camera backwards... not everyone is 5'4" and wears thick glasses to see the road.

-Personalized drivers... How awkward is it that everyone is the same exact guy behind the wheel? almost as awkward as having a word with 2 "w's" separated by a "K".

-Tires and wheels... cool we can change the wheels... where is the offset? Why can we not have 33" tires on 15" rims? The game is built around the use of data captured from the tires... Let's Go Forza, this is a no brainer. Hummers with 2" thick tires sitting on 28" rims... for shame.

-Sound... Everyone praises the games for their accurate sound... I fail to feel authenticity, due to the complete lack of sound in the 120Hz-20Hz range. These are cars... they produce bass that is not even audible... it is ok to stop at 20-40Hz... but 120Hz, c'mon now, Talk to Dr. Dre and get this sorted.

-Escher... having solar flaring when you look at the sun? Nobody drives their car looking through an 18-element telephoto lens, why anyone should have to deal with lens flare outside of replays or photomode, is simply a bad decision.

-Wasting the budget on voice talent... At least it is the Top Gear folks, that I can listen to bantering on about their love/hate for a specific car manufacturer, or their slight against American motorists, I get the fun aspect, but this is a Video Game. I don't put the game into my console thinking about what Hammond is going to say about the Zonda that is in Forza, The man owns one. Let me open the hood and the doors that you painstakingly modeled, and hush.

Obviously there is much more that can be improved, but these are my gripes.

I hope Forza 6 actually feels like a new game rather than a small iteration like all the other entries in the series after the first one. FM2 was basically FM1 with in HD but with some features missing. FM3 added some content and FM4 added cockpits. FM5 had prettier graphics and some tweaks to gameplay but lost a lot of content.

I wish FM6 went more in the direction of real sims but with all the cars (love being able to drive cars I could actually own IRL) but I'm pretty sure it will just be FM5 with more content and possibly weather/time of day if we're lucky.

Still won't be able to use my Fanatec Porsche Wheel with the XONE so that still sucks...
