@Plo_Koon_basic: Yeah it's embarrassing that Richard Burns' Rally is still by far the best rally game and it came out over 10 years ago. Still it's real good with that Oculus Rift mod let me tell you! =)

I feel bored with racing games. I would like to play a racing game where one cannot win driving bumper car style, where crashs really affect performance and even eliminate one from the race, like real races. It would be much more challenging.

@andrelias: That will never happen. Developers think players hate losing, so they make their games so casual.

Forza H 2 was really a terrific game, too bad it got overlooked from even being nominated from nearly all the places with 2014 GOTY awards(like here). Maybe sports/racing titles get the snub usually for some reason? A bit too soon for Forza 6 if it's this year, 2016 would be best.

That is why these both games FH and FM cater to different audiences.

I am more into serious racing than arcade/offroad/luck races.

I kinda agree? I mean I can only use GTA V as an example but some of those 'open' races across fields and such was sooo much fun and ANYTHING 30 man and confined was a hoot for the sheer chaos point of view!

Horizon 2 is a letdown for me, as is Forza 5. Too much pop up in Horizon with cars popping up out of nowhere. And adding the option of mechanical damage is a bit silly if many races allow you to go offroad and use supercars off road. You have to turn off damage if you are racing one on one against drivatars who just cut across every field. Some ideas were just not fleshed out well. Its still the best console racer this gen but overall an 8. Could be much better. Forza 5 is a letdown from the brilliance of 4. It just looks prettier.

For those of you complaining about the heading of this video..I'm guessing you didn't watch.

He blasted Driveclub and mostly every other racing game outside of Forza Horizon 2...all he was saying is that he loves the experience Horizon 2 offers, and feels like he may be disappointed when he is restricted to a course again.

He mentioned that Forza Motorsport 6 will have to work extremely hard to impress him this time around, simply because of how much fun he has had with Horizon 2 and given the fact that there are a few racing sims launching in the near future, that may give FH6 some decent competition.

Now personally, I can't say I disagree with him, because I feel that FH2 has earned its rightful place right next to the FM franchise. Both of these games have their respected place in the racing world...in the meantime...I'll be looking forward to a Gran Turismo game (or any racing game that raises the bar) that can give me at least half of the entertainment that I have received from the Forza games.

@Nightrunner0007: Driveclub is garbage, only People who have to justify their PS4 purchase think its great. Not garbage really but average in every respect. I'm not impressed with the graphics if they can only manage 30 fps with such boring track designs and monotonous scenery. Forza5 does 60 fps with real tracks at least.

@Horndawgie@Nightrunner0007: I've played a ton of FH2 and Forza 5, i wouldn't say Drive Club is garbage (maybe it was at launch but i didn't have it then). It's just sort of average, nothing really bad about it just sort of flat. Some events are fun. It's like a 7.5/10, FH2 a 9/10 for me.

I agree. Forza Horizon 2 was easily the best game across all platforms last year. I can't believe it didn't win GoTY. I've never been a huge Forza fan, but I'm excited to see them push the envelope and create a beautiful looking game

No racing game can ever win game of the year unless it's gran turismo one or two from back in the days cuz of how revolutionary they made the racing genre.

Do I care that Forza 6 does not excite you? Not One Bit. Such a useless and senseless video if ever there was ... you have the privilege of playing those simple-minded arcade racers but really no one cares about the dilemma you are struggling with lol.

@flyingdutchdog3: its obvious how little you care by the fact you clicked on the video .. watched the full thing and then posted a comment on said video to others.... much like how i dont care for my girlfriend yet i live with her and train with her 6 days a week and talk to her all the time .....

maybe a little overly sarcastic, granted but lets just say if you died the world would get a little brighter ;)

i totally am in the same boat, i even bought an xbone two weeks after driveclub came out and felt like a huge letdown... then i started playing fh2, the first iteration of which i never played since i am a "sony pony", and was ecstatic to find out that the game was everything i hoped it to be... well, after that i have searched who playground games was and was again shocked that they consisted of former criterion (burnout paradise was one of my favourite driving games) and codemasters (collin mcrae and dirt series are again among my fovourite games) employees (along with other developers)...
i couldn't care less about the next forza, but if you are talking about the new fh, that is another issue and it is too early for that, i just wish that fh 2 gets new dlcs... :)

Horizon 2 feels "arcady" because it is an arcade racer. You can spin it into whatever fantasy road trip you want and it can be as realistic as you want but in an open world it will always be an arcade racer. Comparing any arcade racer to a full simulator is pointless. Like I said Forza 2 might have aspects of car tweaking and upgrading but Forza 6 will be everything the absolute cutting edge simulation fans could ever want and need because Horizon is still an arcade racer.

People like the precision driving of tracks, they like powering down straights and breaking and turning properly hitting the apex, without having fences and pedestrian cars littering the place.

In reverse those things are why people play arcade games, to have a less serious blast across the map on roads that have traffic on them.

Two very different games for different types of racing fans and this is nothing new. The fact this requires an opinion article is confusing me a little.

@Dannystaples14: I honestly can't tell too much of a difference between the feel of FH2 and FM5, except for when you find yourself offroad in a car that is RWD or FWD. The physics, when turning on all of the handicaps...feel nearly identical to me.

@MondasM: Yeah. My issue with that is when you add obstacles to the road and the fact open roads sweep and bend a lot more unpredictably than tracks I find turning all of the driving aids off is too much.

When I'm playing simulators I like to have everything off. Everything except breaking lines actually since I've never been very good at judging when to start breaking.

In Horizon when I tried that though I found there was simply too much to think about at any given moment. Arcade racers are supposed to be a little more grippy and relaxing. The whole point is to be able to scream down a road at 200mph, then break and drift around a corner.

Not to mention the driving assists are one of the areas that don't translate perfectly from Forza to Horizon. They are often dumbed down a little. I turned all of them off and it doesn't really respond anything like the main Forza series. That felt even more jarring to me than anything. So I slapped it in auto, traction control, ABS, stability control, breaking line and I just sat back and relaxed while taking in the scenery.

@MondasM@Dannystaples14: No it's not. You just have to be mindful of the throttle... feather it. Don't treat the trigger like an on/off switch.... treat it like a gas (and brake) pedal. Like you would in the real world. When you do that, it becomes very doable to race cars better without assists than with. You can better slide through corners, better avoid oversteer and wheelspin (or lost power in the case of TCS). Try it. It makes the game MUCH, MUCH more entertaining. Now gear shifting with a controller, I agree is not even close to fun like in real life, what with not being able to drop from 5th to 3rd without going through 4th. or even 5th to 2nd in some cases (the downhill ramp at road atlanta)
