How Sony Won Call of Duty DLC Exclusivity Away From Microsoft

It's easy. PS4 is destroying XB1. Activision, being the snakes that they are, switches bed partners.

Real reason. Sony hasn't been able to make their own big franchises despite trying with Killzone and Resistance. So they pay for it by buying into CoD and Destiny.

They've closed all the Sony stores and previous articles' here have said they're putting mass amounts of effort into the gaming division. Since their TV, phone and computer is dying or dead.

Why do people play this drivel when such superior shooters are available on PC? If you want a great FPS and are playing on a console, you're doing it wrong. Last great console FPS was Halo 3 and that's nearly 10 years ago.

Getting exclusive content for Call of Duty is not a win in any way, no matter which console gets it.

Come on everyone, Treyarch always make the best COD games, I'm sure this game will be great. My concern lies with Infinity Ward next year. They have left ghosts with a cliffhanger which means Ghosts 2 is almost a certainty. Question being, will it go to the future or stick with the classic COD feel? Personally I thought Ghosts had the best Multiplayer as hit detection was spot on and the maps were great and it was the best fun I've had in COD since BO1. Extinction was a fresh idea which I hope returns for Ghosts 2. The problem with ghosts was its poor campaign. Infinity Ward are the worst at listening to fan feedback and even the developers seemed to lack confidence in Ghosts.

People say each game is the same thing every year, now that's just a load of rubbish, considering AW took the franchise in a different direction and BO3 brings us back to the better sub-franchise we've had.

The problem with the fans are some like classic, some futuristic. People hated Ghosts for going classic after BO2 being futuristic and many saw it as a step backwards. Then came AW and people complained of the futuristic, now with BO3, people are complaining of the game direction. The fans say they want an old fashioned call of duty or world war 1/2 and that they are sick of the futuristic titles. If you wanna play a classic call of duty, go back and play WAW or MW1. If Ghosts 2 goes classic, there'll be those people who'll complain that the franchise is taking a step back again yet Ghosts felt alot like a classic call of duty with new ideas but staying true to the best of MW series. No matter where the franchise goes, people complain. Go play another shooter or just stop complaining and enjoy the games.

- Repetitive ------------------------------Invalid- There is several game modes in each game to mix it up and each game includes new features and a wide variety of ways to approach each situation.

- Not listening to what fans want-Invalid- Examples - Fans hated the fact they had to buy Season pass to play zombies in AW so treyarch are insuring it's on the disc this time. - They bring Fan Favorite maps back to relive those memories on newer games for those who want a classic experience they also had classic playlists in AW for those who weren't keen on the advanced movements. -

On Topic here, I think this deal with Sony is great, players on Playstation have waited 1 month for every dlc for about 5 years now, so it's only fair that we get them first now. Also funny that alot of the people complaining and acting like they don't care, happen to be XBOX fannys.

Doesn't bother me as I don't buy multiplayer dlc but all the hardcore will just wait. Dlc is nice but will never sell consoles so I don't see point paying big money for it.

Nah, what a disappointing move. Who care about exclusive of this crappy, repetitive series anyway? Instead, Sony should have aimed at great games like MGS V. Talking about that, Hideo is free from that Judas-of-a-company-named-Konami after that. Getting him would be a huge catch.

The answer is easy

PS4 is the number 1 console in the market dominating in every part of the world. It is just natural for Activision to move away from xbox.

Activision did it because sony has the bigger gammer base and they will sell a lot more copies of cod on the ps4

I didnt care when MS did it and i care even less now that Sony has. I despise COD and if your basing your console purchase on timed exclusive map packs your doing it wrong.

MS bought Gears so it doesn't need COD anymore. It really is that simple. Sony got it because MS didn't want it anymore. MS is shifting to more first party development and expensive deals for a month of exclusivity just aren't worth it. How many people bought an Xbox One last fall instead of a PS4 because they could get COD: AW maps a month earlier?
