Sony Won't Allow In-Development Ark: Survival Evolved on PS4, Dev Says

Conspiracy theory time: Sony doesn't want any exploration/survival games releasing close to No Man's Sky.

I wasn't serious when I just typed that... but the more it repeats in my mind, the more it makes sense.

I am glad to see everyone pretty much agree that Sony is in the right here. Who in the heck pays for an unfinished game likely to never be completed??

I love how at the start of this generation people were up in arms about how Microsoft wasn't giving gamers choices. Two years later and Sony stopped that EA (electronic arts) gaming library program from coming to PS4 and now they're stopping this. So who's taking away gamers' choices now?

Manger owns ps4 like indie games so much since hates AAA games . I know sold ps4 but doing poor mangerment on games .

Sony for the win! Honestly This EA bullshit must end, now! look on steam to see how many games went Early Access to never finish! Its a scam. Don't get me wrong, it can be used responsibly, but most devs use it to sell their broken, unfinished hot mess of a game because they know they're never gonna finish it.

Although they allowed SFV in a half finished state. And if you look at the trend of "patch later" games that have hit the market, how is this any different? Come on Sony, first ignoring cross console play, now this. Change your slogan to "For the gamer's wallets".

If Ark wanted to be allowed as a free beta for us to try Sony would likely allow that. So Ark? is this really about the gamers? If it is we should see your free beta in the next few weeks. Look forward to seeing your game shortly. Thanks.

7 days to die was released and it's still in development. Of course, Telltale made no mention of this fact and released it on console as a complete game. Even though it is a bug riddled mess, it is still selling really well simply because it's a fun game, and that's what most people care about if they can look past an early access label .

Screw you Ark Survival dev how dare you complain about sony. I love sony they made gaming this gen safe for gamers.

From what I seen there are levels of unfinished games and Ark is just to buggy and not optimized enough to run decent on the PS4. (They should fix the PC version first) Many games got past PlayStation quality control just to make sales and were deep in Sony's pocket already so they needed to make money on them asap. Anyone with games not released on PS4 first will need to be a little more polished.

And yet, Sony allowed Street Fighter V & Driveclub to be unfinished games on there PS4. Bullshit!!!

I have to say this is quite disappointing, but that I can also understand there stance on this. As a PC and PS4 gamer i think the best thing sony can do is allow an early access system, but only allow sony approved early access game to be put on the system. In the case of Ark however, the game is very much playable with a playerbase in the millions, and with it being out on xbox with over 1.5 million players there they must be doing something right.
