One minor purchase and one major tragedy to report today...

First, the good news-
-Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (PS2) and strat guide-MSRP - $5.00 because I had a coupon.

And now the sad part-
-they closed the Game Xchange nearest me! Now, instead of 50 miles, I get to drive over 100 to get to the nearest one. :cry:

I don't like that gamestop really. I prefer the EB Games store near me (the one I often talk about).

I'm not sure that GameStop has much to do with this one...the one in Champaign, IL isn't big enough to do much damage.  Champaign is a fairly large college town and Game Xchange was always packed with people.  The biggest problem, in my opinion, is that the manager was a complete moron (he's the one I always had fun messing with).  It was basically a case of mismanagement, I think.  They "lost their lease."  You can't tell me they couldn't have found another location in town.

I let my sis borrow it and her kids completely messed it up, there are scratches all over the screen and I think one of them poured some type of liquid on it, so now it won't even turn on. Needless to say I'm never letting my sis borrow anything from me again.

I rearranged my living room, sold some DVDs, doubles, unwanted games, and big peripherals yesterday, including all of my MVS motherboards, my Saturn Arcade Racer and unboxed Steel Battalion.  If the last two were boxed I probably wouldn't have sold them, but my interest in space outweighed my desire to keep them.  Also, I finally found Murakumo, John, so I'll be getting that box in the mail today or Monday.

the one store near the gamestop that is 2o minutes away from me has changed names 5 times in the last 2 years. They gotta compete with a wal mart there and gamestop.

decent. my guess is they threw the case away, kept the CD and manual in a binder of some kind and when they gave it to the pawn shop... it got a case.

Nah, what I meant was, it's the orignal case (with the holo PS1 logo on case) and it has the front insert, instructions and disc, but the back insert with the blurb is missing, like someone too it apart and removed it for some reason :S  So it just looks black on the back :p

It is sad the GameXChange near me used to have an average number of customers but now that Gamestop has moved in the place is deserted. I went there last week and was the only person (not counting the employee), bought something out of pity.

Ahh, that one gamespot 20 minutes away from me (the one I mentioned in my last post), almost came to the saem fate. The Boss was god aweful. I noticed a deline in people visiting. He no longer works there. A new manager is there now and he's much much nicer (and smarter).

I have the manual because I bought it at the time (that was before I was a collector, so I threw away the box). Oh well.  It's my favorite Metroid, in truth it is the only one I finished.
