We've hit 1000 posts in New Acquisitions, Volume 8, so now it's time for a new edition of New Aquisitions!
Carry on, my friends.
New Acquisitions Thread Format Suggestions
The CCU's most popular series of threads is, without question, New Acquisitions. Considering that we're on volume nine now, there have been a total of well over eight thousand posts created. All that activity means that you could easily get lost in forty or fifty new posts if you miss a few days. In order to alleviate such troubles, the officers provide a few recommended guidelines for posting your fabulous new purchases in a streamlined and efficient manner.
1. Be as thorough as possible.
When listing your acquisitions, please include the following data:
Title - Self explanatory.
Platform - Hardware the game runs on; PS2, 360, DS, etc.
Condition - New or used, or a grading: near mint, fair, poor, etc.
Completeness - Complete, disc or cartridge only, etc.
Source - Where you purchased the item; eBay, GameStop, Amazon, Wal-Mart, etc.
Price - Self explanatory.
Rarity - *See Below
This would cut down on the need for question and answer follow-up posts, such as: Q: "Where did you get that?" A: "From here.", Q: "For how much?", A: "Five bucks.", Reply: "That's a great deal!". Instead, someone could cut straight to the reply, "That's a great deal!", eliminating four question-and-answer posts. Follow-up posts that comment on the acquisition as a whole or a specific title, the quality of the pickup, a congrats, or things of that nature are very much encouraged.
Of course, it is not mandatory to include all of this information. You may very well not know the rarity rating, or you may not want to divulge the cost. But if you don't mind sharing the information, and you know it, please do include it.
(Just to note, as you're adding games to your GameSpot collection, you can copy and paste the link to the game into a message edit window. This saves on typing, and automatically puts the title, platform and a link to the game's GameSpot main page into your post.)
* If you have one of the Digital Press Collector's Guides please include the Rarity Rating. A detailed description of the Rarity Ratings provided by aspro can be found here.
2. Try to keep images to a minimum.
In consideration of members that may be visiting the union on a slower connection, please keep images in the New Acquisition thread to a minimum, both in terms of file-size and number of images.
If you've got a lot of pictures to post, or even a few larger ones, feel free to dazzle us from the comfort of the CCU Game Collection Photo Thread. After all, that's what it's there for, so go ahead and show off! We love pictures of towering stacks of games!

Hopefully, these recommendations will make the New Acquisitions thread a bit more manageable to read through, and content-consistent. Good luck with your purchases!
