Webber is in a Red Bull isnt he? Unless it is Jaguar? I am mixed up as 2006 I didnt see much of F1.Garfield360UK

Webber drove for Williams in 2006, albeit uncompetitively - he only finished 7 of the 18 races in 2006 - but to be fair, a good few were failures on the car, not him.

RENAULT - Alonso, Fisichella
McLAREN - Raikkonen, Montoya
FERRARI - M.Schumacher, Massa
TOYOTA - R.Schumacher, Trulli
WILLIAMS - Webber, Rosberg
HONDA - Barrichello, Button
RED BULL - Coulthard, Klien
BMW - Heidfeld, Villeneuve
MIDLAND - Monteiro, Albers
TORO ROSSO - Liuzzi, Speed
SUPER SGURI - Sato, Ide

I've had bad news from TannerRules - his PS2 has broken down. As in, it's gone to Sony and they can't do anything about it. Therefore, if anyone is interested in taking up TR's role as race host until he can get back on his feet, it'll be much appreciated.

At the moment:

Malaysia and Australia need to be done. Starting from Monday, San Marino will need to be added to the list. What I've proposed is one race a week and, if by next week all these three races are done, then we'll be back on track (with one race a week, the final round in Brazil will actually take place on the opening week of the 2009 F1 season - perfect!)

So, anyone going to save us? :)

Starting Grid - Malaysia

   1. Albers
   2. Rosberg
   3. Montoya
   4. Massa
   5. Speed
   6. Monteiro
   7. Ide
   8. Trulli
   9. Coulthard
  10. Button
  11. Barrichello
  12. R. Schumacher

  16. Raikkonen
  17. Heidfeld
  18. Alonso
  19. M. Schumacher
  20. Fisichella
  21. Webber
  22. Sato

The race began without incident with all drivers making it through turn 1 without a hitch, except Villeneuve who suffered from sort of electrical gremlin a pulled off before completing the first turn. Lap 2 sees a car falling off circuit - It's ALBERS! his Toyota engine gave out in dramatic fashion.

Lap 4 - Massa takes the lead after passing the battling Rosberg and late Sutil and forcing past Montoya, the leading pack now stands as Massa, Speed and Montoya (Seems, Speed was right on Massa's tail!) On lap five Schumi is battling with the struggling Klien and manages a fantastic move into the last bend putting him in contention with a pass on Fisi at the end of the start finish straight. Lap 6 Sees the pack beginning to settle, leading pack is Massa, Montoya, Rosberg, Monteiro. Trulli, Coulthard, Barrichello, Raikkonen. (Speed and R. Schumacher have pulled off track with some kind of failure off screen :()

The fun begins - Rain. Starting with drizzle the sky opens up at the end of lap 6 - despite that Massa has just set the fastest lap of the race - a 1.33.350 Montoya is falling behind. Lap 7 sees Schumi tapping Ide into a slide into turn 3 no significant damage is done to either car thankfully.

PIT LANE CHAOS! Lap 8 - EVERY car pits!

Laps 9/10 Montoya closes the gap after the pits by a whole second - Massa begins to fight back.

Race settles down for another round of pit stops on laps 14 and 15 and again on lap 20 - This I can't understand :D Camera focuses on the lone Sato and commentary stops.

Lap 28 - Final Lap - Massa heads Montoya with a 1.6sec gap moving just a few tenths between them over the last few laps. In the final sector Massa comes across Monteiro they come close to contact but in the penultimate corner Massa makes it past safely and the race is won.

Final Standings

    1. Massa
    2. Montoya

ROUND 3 -- Australia --

Start Grid:

  1. Villenueve
  2. Albers
  3. R. Schumacher
  4. Speed
  5. Sato
  6. Liuzzi
  7. Heidfeld
  8. Ide
  9. Monteiro
  10. Klien
  11. Fisichella
  12. Webber
  13. Button
  14. M. Schumacher
  15. Coulthard
  16. Alonso
  17. Raikkonen
  18. Barrichello
  19. Trulli
  20. Rosberg
  21. Montoya
  22. Massa

What a race! Action throughout and some strong results for some!
Lap 1 - Turn one was clean, no incidents. Until the hairpin turn 3, Speed and R.Schumacher collide, Speed had got past Ralf and Schumi jr. Ploughed into the back of Speed damaging the rear wing. Fisi is the big mover, ending lap 1 in 8th.

Lap 2 - Raikkonen and Montoya on the move - Both push past Barrichello in the 3rd sector.

Lap 4 - Camera focuses on Heidfeld revealing front wing damage... Who has he tangled with?

Lap 5 - McMercs are on the back of Alonso and make a move in the final bend. Down the pit straight Alonso pushes back past but brakes too late and connects with the rear wing of Barrichello. Not sure of the damage.

Lap 6 - Trulli and Massa are scrapping in the 3rd sector, theres contact!!! Both manage to stay on track but Trulli has sustained damage to his right rear tyre.

Lap 8 - Button, Speed and R. Schumacher try to make it 3 in 1 in turn 3... needless to say it doesn't work out - Speed mantains the lead over them but Button has fallen behind.

Lap 10 -- ACTION LAP! Fisi is all over the back of the battling R.Schumacher and Albers - Albers mantains his advantage but further down the field Liuzzi has suffered an engine failure, Coulthard has collided with the stricken Toro Rosso and now Raikkonen joins the pile up destroying DC's rear wing and escaping with severe damage to the front wing.

Lap 11-12 Ide holding onto 12th and fighting tooth and nail to keep Barrichello, Massa, Montoya and Alonso behind - Alonso has damage to the front left tyre all four are fighting to get past.

Lap 12 - Villeneuve no longer has the lead, pitting early perhaps? NO! Villeneuve crawls to a halt in the 2nd sector with some kind of electrical gremlin. Fisi has the lead and is pulling away at around 4 seconds a lap!

Lap 13 - Barrichello leaves the circuit with an engine failure.

With 16 laps remaining Albers is out front holding off a feisty M. Schumacher who's already made 2 trips to shallow gravel traps while moving up the field in the early laps.

13 Laps remaining - Raikkonen and Montoya chasing down Sato Raikkonen botches a passing attempt leaving him with further damage to his front wheels.

8 Laps remaining - Fisi flying away with the lead running 1.26.600's - Villeneuve was running a full 3 seconds slower when he was leading! Turn 3, the prime overtaking oppurtunity, Speed vs. Massa. Speed is ahead and fighting to hold onto 8th. Contact! Speed escapes with new Rear wing damage and Massa falls back with Front wing damage.

7 Laps remaining the topsy turvey top 8 are as follows - Fisi, M.Schu, R. Schu, Heidfeld, Button, Albers, Webber, Speed.

4 Laps left - Montoya, Massa, Alonso are back fighting together - this time trying to relieve Scott Speed of his 8th place. The three are swapping places 3 times a lap as they each run wide while trying to make various futile attempts at a pass.

3 laps left and Alonso has made his move stick - Alonso takes 8th places and procedes to cruise up to the battling Albers and Webber. Massa fighting with Montoya late in the lap as they all scoot past Sato. Raikkonen has again come to trouble his team mate.

2 Laps left, can Alonso take 6th or 7th from Webber and/or Albers?

Final Lap - Albers has a gap of 0.100 sec to Webber who is frantically defending from the charging Alonso - Massa catches them in the final few bends but cannot capitalise.

I do apologise - it's madness having to swap names all the time, so I just presumed everyone would remember their drivers - I'll add the names after every 6 races.

Round 4 - Imola

Starting Grid

  1. Liuzzi
  2. Coulthard
  3. Villeneuve
  4. Barrichello
  5. Trulli
  6. Monteiro
  7. Ide
  8. Sato
  9. Rosberg
  10. Klien
  11. Montoya
  12. Raikkonen
  13. Speed
  14. Massa
  15. Alonso
  16. Webber
  17. Albers
  18. Button
  19. Heidfeld
  20. R Schumacher
  21. M Schumacher
  22. Fisichella

-The race begins in light rain conditions - This could get spicy!

The 1st lap is clean but Barrichello is all over Villeneuve, could get messy with the greasy circuit.

Lap 2 - Super Aguri's are already falling down the order, Massa and Speed collide in the final sector Massa loses his left front wheel and is out of the race! Speed escapes unscathed.

Lap 3 sees Villeneuve picking up the pace securing his third place. Coulthard is right on Liuzzi's tail running mid 1.24's. The Schumacher brothers swap qualifying positions.

Lap 5 - Speed overtaken by Button but Speed isn't letting him go lightly.

Lap 6 - Ide has formed a train of Klien, the McMercs, as well as Alonso.

Lap 8 - Albers is holding onto his Australian lead holding Webber and Fisichella up. Ide running in 9th after Montoya ran past Ide.

Lap 9 sees Montoya right up on the back of the dicing Rosberg and Monteiro. Before the chicane Button muffs a move on Raikkonen and completely loses his front wing, Raikkonen escapes without damage.

Pit lane action on lap 10 - Liuzzi is in the pits, will DC be able to turn up the wick and gain the upper hand? Ide pits, Monteiro is slowing into Tamburello.... There's oil down and a yellow flag and engine has gone pop... but whose? It's Raikkonen his Mercedes power plant has let go.

Lap 12 Coulthard pits from P1 has he done enough? Barrichello takes the lead and is running in the low 1.24's. Villeneuve pulls of the circuit. Coulthard rejoins ahead of Liuzzi! A lap later and Barrichello is in the pits - Coulthard retakes the lead of the race. The top 8 are: DC, Barrichello, Montoya, MONTEIRO!!!!, Trulli, Button, Liuzzi, Klien.

Lap 14 see's Schumachers 750hp drop to 0 in half a second with an engine failure in the second sector.

The race settles and the field begins to spread.

13 Laps remaining and Fisichella is all over Klien! He's dicing for 8th after starting in 22nd!

10 Laps remaining - pit action once more, will Monteiro stay in the top 4?

9 Laps left and Fisi is up to 7th and is having a go for 6th from Trulli! They're side by side going through the final sector when Fisi botches his passing attempt, they're both in the gravel nose to nose it's a hell of a shunt! No obvious damage, but they'll have to try get out of the gravel trap yet! The rain is getting heavier - DC running 1.30's

Lap 26 top 8: DC, Barrichello, Montoya, Monteiro!, Button and Klien are right on his tail then Liuzzi and Webber. Button and Monteiro are both sporting damage to their suspension - evidence of scrapping.

Fisi and Trulli didn't retire - Fisi is on the move again and is fighting with Rosberg and Speed. Alonso and R Schumacher are just up the road.

Final lap - 0.9 sec between DC and Barrichello but with the rain worsening no one wants to risk going off, the drivers limp through the final lap without incident.

Round 5 Europe

Starting Grid - Reverse of the Race Results from Imola

Massa on pole, Raikkonen second, Villeneuve third
M Schu 4th, Trulli 5th - I don't remember much more than that :D

Race starts in slightly cloudy conditions - They're AWAY! Through turn one cleanly but Button and Klien have come to grief in Turn 2! Klien shunts the helpless Button, damage to the front wing for Klien, Rear wing damage for Button. The Renaults are on a joint charge with Fisi leading once again! They're attacking Ide and Speed all about the circuit but they're holding strong. For now.

It's lap two and both Renaults have squeezed past Speed - Fisi at Turn 1 and Alonso at the wide hairpin in the 2nd sector. Massa beginning to pull away at the front - He leads Kimi by 1.2seconds.

Schumi is up behind Villeneuve but isn't really challenging for position, is he really that heavy or is Villeneuve genuinely quick?

Lap 6 sees Albers in 7th and racing strongly keeping Rosberg, Fisi, Alonso, Button and soon Montoya up. He's really quite good at this :D

Lap 9 - Race is becoming tame, no real battles, no.... wait! Barrichello's off! Yet another Honda engine failure for the hapless Brazillian

Lap 10 - 1st round of pit stops are ready to start and the BMW mechanics are out in the pitlane - Villeneuve or Heidfeld ? They're both running high up the order (3rd and 6th respectively)

Lap 11 - Villeneuve's in running light he's managed to hold 3rd reasonably comfortably, can Schumi do what is needed for 3rd?

Lap 13 and Schumi has made his stop he's coming down the pitlane, hits the gas at the line and he's into turn 1 a country mile ahead of Villeneuve - easy peasy for Schumi, can he catch the battling Kimi and Massa?

The 16th Lap has Kimi and Massa still battling there's a gap of 1.1seconds between them and Kimi is due to make his first stop this lap. Almost gets past Massa when they catch Liuzzi in the final sector but Kimi can't quite make it, and anyhow, Massa still has a lap to run before his stop.

It was never going to be hard, Massa rejoins 2.4seconds ahead of Raikkonen.

11 Laps left and there is a trail of oil through the first sector... Big smokey blow up for Monteiro!

Race is very settled - Commentators go quiet... Is ANYTHING going to happen?

Raikkonen sets the fastest lap of the race a 1.29.745 he's beginning to catch Massa again the gap is down to 2.1seconds.

4 Laps left Kimi and Massa dueling it out the gap is down to half a second thanks to back markers.

Going into the final lap and Kimi is really on it, just a tenth of a second seperate them, Kimi makes a half hearted move into the 1st turn, but gives it up and chooses to follow Massa for now. Villeneuve and Heidfeld are both coming under some serious pressure from Alonso and Button respectively, Button makes a move going into the final chicane  BUT it's too little too late. Alonso is right on the gearbox of Villeneuve crossing the line for the final time.  Massa has held on, just.

Final Results:

  1.  Massa
  2. Raikkonen
  3. M. Schumacher
  4. Trulli
  5. Fisi
  6. Villeneuve
  7. Alonso
  8. Heidfeld
  9. Button
  10. Rosberg
  11. Montoya
  12. Webber
  13. R. Schumacher
  14. Klien
  15. Coulthard
  16. Albers
  17. Liuzzi
  18. Speed
  19. Ide
  20. Sato

    DNF
  21. Monteiro
  22. Barrichello

Round 6 - Spain

Starting grid - Reverse of final result in Europe.

Race starts in fine conditions, little bit of cloud around but doesn't appear to be threatening... They're off cleanly through turn one, but Montoya has made an awful start and has dropped right to the back of the grid. Coming down to start lap two cars are 5 abreast to try pass Sato.

In the second lap Liuzzi and Coulthard have blasted past Ide and are settling in 2nd and 3rd. Lap 3 sees Schumi and Alonso blasting through the field in lap 4 ALBERS passes Schumi in the final sector after a small mistake - Alonso is pulling away and has got past Albers and Rosberg.

Lap 5 Montoya and Fisichella are fighting tooth and nail ducking an diving swerving and pushing.... for 22nd. - catching a slow to start Raikkonen who's chasing up Trulli in 18th.

Alonso is really on a charge, he's already up to 9th! The Ralf Schumacher train has begun - from 4th with little schumi follows Klien, Webber, Alonso, Monteiro and Heidfeld at the end of the lap Alonso relieves Webber of 6th.

Lap 8 has the McMercs finally getting their skates on they leave Fisi for dead and blast up to 15th and 16th in the lap Kimi scoots past Villeneuve for 13th and Monty gets ahead of Ide for 15th - Lap 9 and Kimi is all over the back of Monteiro.

Lap 10 and Alonso is hounding Liuzzi for 2nd! In the last few laps he's past Coulthard, R Schumacher and Klien! can he take the win? Barrichello is 21 seconds ahead though...

L13 Pit action - Webber and Klien fighting each other, can Webber make something of the stops? Webber is in first and won't make it past this time.

Lap 16 and Barrichello has pitted, he falls behind Alonso but Alonso is just 2 seconds ahead... and still needs to stop.

Not much past halfway and the top 8 are as follows: Alonso, Barrichello, Schumi, Coulthard, Button, Raikkonen, Rosberg, Villeneuve but there are still pit stops to be done.

15 Laps left Red Bull mechanics are getting ready for DC two laps later and Raikkonen pits from 3rd.

Just 10 laps left now and Kimi is on a final charge, DC might not be safe in 5th, Kimi is all over the back of him and lunges about the circuit but goes to make his move in the final turn - runs a little wide keeps his foot in gets back on track and uses the slipstream and takes the place. Button is further up the road is he safe in 4th?

5 Laps remaining and the Alonso's pushing has taken its toll, he'd fought all the way up to 2nd from 16th but his engine cries enough and he pulls off to the side of the road :( he finally has some pace and the car gives out.

Few laps remain but Kimi isn't done yet, with back markers in bound there is still a chance for a podium... 2.5seconds and 3 laps... can he do it? Cutting the gap down to 1.5seconds thanks to said backmarkers but coming across Monteiro on the back straight won't help!! He's been slowed right down and the gaps extended to just over 4 seconds, game over.

Final Results:

  1. Barrichello
  2. M Schumacher
  3. Button
  4. Raikkonen
  5. Coulthard
  6. Montoya
  7. Fisichella
  8. Rosberg
  9. Massa
  10. Liuzzi
  11. R Schumacher
  12. Klien
  13. Webber
  14. Trulli
  15. Villeneuve
  16. Heidfeld
  17. Speed
  18. Monteiro
  19. Sato
  20. Albers
  21. Ide

    DNF
  22. Alonso

Round 7 - Monte Carlo.

Starting Grid:

Same as last time - reverse of the last race :D

Race begins with some cloudy looking skies with a slight threat of rain. The race begins cleanly Alonso is under next to no pressure going into the first bend a romps away. The rest of the grid are.... NO Kimi and Fisichella have come to blows in the first turn, both have collided with the inside of the first turn blocking up the pitlane exit. Both retire. Further ahead going into the hairpin there is a bit of a traffic jam with cars at a standstill Barrichello has a sideways moment the turn before the hairpin and makes contact with the wall losing a wheel and short tracking him to the pits.

What a first lap!!! I was expecting a snore! oh... wait... I was right. Lap four, Coulthard and Button have come together both suffer minor wing damage but both escape largely unscathed - Coulthard was the winner in some respects, Button lost two places with that failed manouvere.

Ide is pulling away from Albers which is a bit of a suprise, theres about a second gap between each car through the top 8. Alonso has an 11second lead and its only lap 5!

Lap 8... Prosession... snore... BOOM! Ide's engine explodes going into the swimming pool complex!

More snores...

24 Laps left Oh dear god.... have.. mer..cy? whats this? could it be? RAIN! yay!! and some scheduled stops, who will make the right moves now??

Klien stops a lap after the rain starts? An inspired move? Is it wet enough for inters? can he try the dries and hope it doesn't worsen? Massa had already pitted and he's on dries - he's passed Klien, but at what price?

Cars are still out there 3 laps after the skies open up, struggling around on dry tyres. Massa running 1.15's so it's not too bad... Yet...

Montoya pits for inters after an early stop.

21 laps left top 8: Alonso, Albers, Sato, Speed, Heidfeld, Trulli, Webber, R-Schumacher.

Lap 20 everyone has stopped at least once and everyones on inters. 27sec gap between Alonso and Albers.

Commentator falls asleep for 10 laps while nothing happens... 8 laps left and Alonso LAPS Montoya, but spends 3 more laps following Rosberg and being completely unable to pass... wut?

Just as I start to wrap this up sorting out final placings and everyone dives into the pits again... the rain has stopped!

Top 8 before this lap: Alonso, Albers, Sato, Speed, Monteiro, Heidfeld, Trulli and Villeneuve.

Oh no! A collision at La Rascase! Rosberg has finally decided to let Alonso by by slowing right down mid bend and heading straight for the wall. Good work :D no harm done though. Both manage to stay in the race!

Final lap been and gone, nothing more to see here.
