"Which version will you be buying?"

That's my thread *extremely proud face*.

I hope that 24 hour endurance races include night and day. GT4 didn't include this.

And maybe the option to save the game during these 24 hour races. I sure won't be able to play 24 hours straight. Or maybe two or three other team mate drivers like in real life?

"Introduction of electric cars", I hope they include the electric Merc SLS AMG.

I also heard that they would include go-karts in GT5...

Go-Karts + Topgear track = Unbelievable mayhem.

Also, how will you be able to race at Topgear professionally? The circuit is a figure of eight, so surely, there will be crashes where the track crosses?

I also wanted them to include more F1 tracks such as Australia, Brazil, Hungary. Looks like they won't

I hope they still have Suzuka and Monte Carlo.

Maybe more F1 cars too, like the RBR from 2009 or the McLaren MP4-23.

It will most probably review well, whether I buy it or not I dont know. I have Prologue but have not got into it. The licenses are my main problem with the series. That said it looks fantastic, I may get it but I rarely play my PS3 so I genuinely dont know what I will do with this title.

*shocked face*

Are you thinking what I think you are thinking?

You'd rather play Forza 3 on xBox 360 rather than GT5 on PS3?

I do have Forza 3, but I am thinking more along the lines of the new WRC and Formula 1 games. GT5 is looking good I just dont play my PS3 and dont know that many people for the online side.

I hardly play online. Unless a trophy states that I have to like in DiRT 2.

Otherwise, I just play single player.

I tend to be 50/50 with most games with online features. Forza 3 I tend to play offline more than online but that is because I dont know many people who I game with who play the game.

Online on GT5P takes very long to load, is very laggy and you can't choose the race settings or who you play with.

Yeah thats one of my issues with it. But it isnt the full game so it can be forgiven.

I just prefer Forza really, the AI feels a bit more inclined to race you and block you where as on GT I feel its more a driving than a racing simulator.

^ I agree with the above based on my experience of Forza 1 and GT4, in Forza the AI are far more aggressive and actually make wholehearted attempts to pass you and stop you passing them. In GT4 the AI seem to follow a stock 5 or so racing lines around a circuit and don't move off them unless they really need to. Hell - I race at Fuji and I'm more likely to get rammed down the straight than passed because the AI wont pull out to overtake me properly.

Yes, this is VERY TRUE with GT4 and lower. But wait till GT5 comes out before you compare it with Forza 3.

Heck, people on the Internet were comparing the GT5 Time Trial Demo with Forza 3.

But GT5P was looking good as the AI were no longer racing in a rollercoaster. They even made mistakes and crashed into each other at Casio Triangle (Suzuka Circuit).

Maybe, it would be unfair to compare GT5 to Forza 3 but from the GT5 Prologue there is still work to be done on the AI I personally feel. Its better as the cars have blocked me a couple of times but their overtaking of each other feels far too scripted. The cars just tend to follow each other rather than make mistakes or out break each other or knock each other I have found when I am playing the game.

Drive at Suzuka and tell me that they don't out break themselves at the last corner of the first lap.

They rarely run off, the last corner I assume is the hairpin chicane rather than the actual last corner?

I generally dont see the AI drive off and when they do as I say to me it feels scripted.

Garfield360UK

My bad, I forgot that the last corner was after casio triangle, the last corner is so easy, it doesn't even feel like a corner, but Glock reminded us all last year that it really was a corner.

Scripted? Not as scripted as GT4.

GT5P and Forza can't be compared. Forza 3 is a full game, where as GT5P is a work in progress.

One things that I noticed in all GT games is that there are no reverse lights. Anyone else notice this?

I have not until you brought it up, that supprises me as they tend to give top notch attention to detail with the cars.

Im not dissing GT5 as its not out like you say and I have only played Prologue and I will probably get the game but I am not 100% decided. I am not really one who can play the same game for long time frames although there are some exceptions like Football Manager on PC I have spent lots of time on that.

Garfield360UK

Most of the games in my collection (I haven't updated them on my Gamespot account though) are racing games, 90% of them.

Then GT5P was such a treat, it was only a taster but I have played it for a very long time.

I could easily play a game for a long time. I lie to finish games to 100%

I was still trying to finish GT2 when GT4 was alreay out.

Big Gran Turismo and PlayStation fan, This looks AMAZING but I have one question. In Forza 3 (also brilliant), there was an option to use a manual gearbox with clutch. Will this be in GT5?

My last experience with tracks that cross over was in NFS Shift where it was a 30 lap endurance race and with cars flying through the middle, it was very hard to cross over.

Expect TopGear circuit to ruin a few people's days...

Probably fun though :P

Eh? In Forza, you just pressed/held the Left Bumper for clutch, and since PS3 controllers are almost entirely analogue, I thought I could use L1. In case you couldn't tell, I use a Dualhock 3, not a wheel.

New news on Gamespot regarding GT5, and a few new screenshots with go karts in them. B-Spec mode is back (Yes!) and now you can manage up to 6 drivers in 1 race. Track Generator sounds ok, too.

As always, I'm rubbish at creating anything.

B-Spec mode, wonder if they put something more than X3. This will be useful for the endurance races.

Thats a good point, I would like it to do a 24 hour mode (not in actual 24 hours mind) where you could drive a certain ammount of laps then the AI does so many then you get back in like Le Mans does. Maybe over an hour race or something.

The game looks very interesting, I will likely pick it up but I really did not get into Gran Turismo 4, 1 and 3 were where it was at for me with that series (note I have not played Gran Turismo 2 nor the B spec game of one of the games or GT4 Prologue but the rest I have some experience with).

Yeah. like a three hour stint in Le Mans or maybe you could try doing the whole 24 hours on your own :P

That's what some of the old drivers did.

According to Gamespot, the track maker is very simple.

What you do is set criteria, such as camber, surface type, elevation, sharpness of turns, time of day,etc and then you clikc a button and the game makes it for you. You can press the button as much as you like and the game will make a different track every time.

Monza will also be included in GT5. Although, I woud have prefered Silverstone or Hungary.

Have we got a confirmed track list? The Madrid circuit looks nice but I seem to have it in my head that London is featured in the game but I cant think what game had the big screen on a corner (its some famous TV screen on a shop but I cant think what its called, its sort of like Time Sqaure in New York City).

I hope the rally tracks are good, WRC license cars are good!

What game? Gran Turismo? If that's the case then I think it's Seoul or New York.

Ah, the license tests.

NASCAR, WRC and Super licenses will be available in the game.

Only one rally track has been confirmed...

It'll be interesting to try out B-Spec modes side of the game. Though, I'll be playing A-Spec first.

I think Silverstone might be in GT5, it's in Forza...sambob530

Silverstone's a staple in any racing game.

A quick question:

Are all the tracks from GT4 going to be included in GT5?

Wonder if they'll call the Top Gear Test Track the Dunsfoldring or Top Gear Test Track? If you don't get a Suzuki Liana, Daewoo/Chevrolet Lacetti and/or the Kia Cee'd, it'll be nowhere near as cool. Sebastian Vettel's in it, I wonder if the Stig is...

 No Monaco?

Why didn't they just include all the tracks from GT4 in it?

It would have needed more detail but Polyphony could have pulled it off.

Maybe they're trying to sell it to us via DLC.

Well, at least Suzuka's in it. Been practising on that for ages :D

Thank goodness for that :D

One thing that no one's talked about is the fact that Polyphony could delay the game again...

I dont think they will this time, I was supprised to hear that it was 200 cars out of the 800 or however many there are will be fully modeled and the rest will be upscaled versions from other games etc.

However I dont think Sony would be impressed if its delayed again, and if it was I would not be supprised if it became one of these games that stays in development forever. The creator sounds like he wants it to be the perfect game but at the same time that can not happen, but talk of a 6th Gran Turismo (as in I read somewhere that the developers were not going to put the map editor into this game but the 6th version but so many people asked that they pushed it forwards onto this game) makes me think that this will happen now this year.

Yeah, they've already revealed so much about the game, they've even included prices. I was just saying how many people forgot about the fact that the game could be delayed at any time.

What did you mean by:

"I was supprised to hear that it was 200 cars out of the 800 or however many there are will be fully modeled and the rest will be upscaled versions from other games etc."
