I wonder when I'll even get around to the singleplayer. I'm heading straight for MP the second I get home.I just wanted to come in and say that I now have played BFBC2 before ragnaar here. The intro scene is soooooo good. the title screen too. :P

Anyway, so I take it this game is good? :P Yes. This game is good. Very very good. Normally I love singleplayer, but when it comes to FPS games, I pretty much don't bother unless it is a Half-Life game.I just wanted to come in and say that I now have played BFBC2 before ragnaar here. Just finsihed the first level. Very impressive. I dont like the controls, but the scale, the graphics and sound effects are fantastic.
[QUOTE="S0lidSnake"]What is wrong with the controls? I know the default sensitivity is super low, but that is an easy fix. It just takes way too long for the guns to go into iron sights. The sensitivity is super low, but the guns just move really slow, almost like KZ2, but it doesnt feel as weighty. Getting used to them though. The second level was nuts. So freaking awesome. This is how you do a single player, learn IW! LEARN!Just finsihed the first level. Very impressive. I dont like the controls, but the scale, the graphics and sound effects are fantastic.

Also, the game is beautiful. The levels are huge, but still on par with KZ2 visuals. You would be doing the game a disservice by not playing the single player. You NEED to see the single player levels.
I picked this before work, got sick at work, and I'm playing it now bundled up with crackers and chicken broth beside me :(
Admittedly, I got spoiled by the demo. After going into multiplayer and picking my medic class(I'm not a great shot, so this is a good class for me) I was alarmed by something missing: Where's my medkits? Where's the Defib?!?!? Didn't know they had to be unlocked first
Overall I'm having a great time with it, my only complaint thus far is that after finishing a game, the connection died and I was kicked out. Not a big deal, except that the points I gained? GONE. Made me furious becuase I had amassed enough points to get my medkits.
Edit: Dunno which system you are playing on, ASK, but it's the same for me. I have the 360 version
I played MP for about 3 1/2 hours today and I am thoroughly wowed. I don't really like Squad DM, but the rest is good, going to play SP tomorrow. So far though, best multiplayer ever.
Most of the KZ2 levels are pretty small if u really think about it, plus it's not doing any destructive enviornments. i dont know maybe it's because im coming off MAG and MW2, but this game looks light years ahead of those two.
Oh and no screen tearing so far. woot. No frame rate drops either. :D
I do hope the story picks up though. After a pretty interesting first level, the next two have had zero progress. Maybe it was a bad idea playing this right after Heavy Rain, maybe im expecting too much from a shooter. :P
Server problem again. I'm just glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Looks like everyone playing this game is having a hard time joining games. Sucks.ASK_Story
This happens with every online game on launch day/week. That's why thye included a single player. :P Let's just hope its not as bad as BF1943's launch.
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So many stinking snipers!!! But still a fun game.ASK_Story
I have formed a theory playing online shooters over the past couple of years. Most of the people who play online are ****s or sissies. They are too scared to go into the heat of the action, and like to hang back where it's relatively calm. That's not true for all snipers of course, some are really talented. But for an objective focused game like BFBC2, sniping is almost completely pointless.... especially on attack. You get extra bonus points for getting kills near the objectives, yet people still like to hang back. I've seen it in MW2, Uncharted 2, MAG and BC2 demo. People are scared playing online. Such cowards.
I just unlocked the red dot scope for the Medic, and I'm well on my way to having the 4X scope for it too. As soon as I get the M60 LMG, I will have my favorite loadout in the game. I'm watching my roommate play the Panama Canal map and it is bonkers. I just got done doing two conquest rounds on Laguna Presa. That map is phenomenal. It looks like my dogtag collection carried over from the demo, so I'm getting close to 675 dogtags.:D I love it.
I igot Xbox 360 version but haven't opened it , im still debating whether to get ps3 version and save me money to spend for live, but i want to know which version has better controls?
I would think the X360 has better, but I haven't played, so donno...help ME!!!
The best advice is to just get it for whichever system you've got friends on, and whichever controller you like the best. The games are more or less identical.I igot Xbox 360 version but haven't opened it , im still debating whether to get ps3 version and save me money to spend for live, but i want to know which version has better controls?

Hey Rags, sorry to keep asking but do you experience jaggies while playing online? Also, did you pick up Sonic Racing yet?ASK_StoryThere are some jaggies, but they aren't so bad. I'm usually not the one to notice jaggies and framerate drops unless they are really bad. I didn't get Sonic Racing. I'm in a rough spot financially, and Bad Company 2 is probably the last game I buy until I get a new job.

But thank heavens for that Gamestop's extra 50% trade-in thing. If it wasn't for that I probably couldn't get BFBC2. I hate giving money to them and I hate trading but it was fortunate that I had games I didn't mind parting with. Totally worth it! And hope you get Sonic Racing too. It's really addictive and fun as well. I love the variety. A great shooter, a fun kart racer, and a good co-op game since I'm getting into Borderlands again! :D
Oh man my engineer got some good points in one game. Four of us were cruising around in a Death Tank just mowing stuff down. At one point it slugged it out with an enemy tank, with me behind it repairing it... and the other team did the same. For like two minutes I was just watching the repair points flow like crazy.
The best was in my last match with rag when we were defending the site. RPG'ed a copter and got like 480 points out of it due to vehicle, multiple kill, defense, etc. multipliers for a few people.
I did notice slight incidents with lag one game, but it was both in the same game I think. One time I stabbed a guy, at which point he shot me. Another time an ATV was going right for me, I dodged and turned and started firing at the driver... at which point I was roadkilled by said ATV.

tbh, the lag isnt bad at all. I just have trouble aiming in this game. I usually go into the iron sights after putting my crosshair on the enemy, but i've noticed that the ironsight veers left or right randomly at times, instead of honing in on where my crosshair was. Just a minor issue for me since I'm still easily getting kills. Other than that, it's fantastic.
i need to find me a chopper though, or a UAV. Those things look awesome.
Do you really experience some lag Solid? That's odd. I haven't had lag at all.
Anyway, the game is really fun! I'm loving it! I'm finally getting used to it now even getting some dog tags! It feels great when you sneak behind somebody and knife them. One time I knifed a guy who was working the remote control helicopter thing. It was so funny whenever I do that!

Like i said, it's not bad at all. I never see players skip around or anything, just on a rare occassion you know you pumped a lot of bullets into a dude, but he somehow survives. But it's like that in every online game.
I love how smooth it all runs, and it definitely looks better than the beta. Jaggies aren't noticable, and the framerate never dips. it looks gorgeous even online.
lol just popped in MAG. It seems BC2 has completely destroyed the MAG userbase. Very few people online.
Overall the mp is really well done. Only map i hate that small with all the plants.
HC was really well done to and wasn't ruined like it was in mw2. Squad Death Match is really fun.
So far i have unlocked the 2nd bolt action sniper rifle
And the f2k for assault.
Should get the gold star for the m24 today. and hopefully the 12 x scope and maybe rds for assualt.
The night map is so great. I love that the UAV is the only vehicle on it. It allows me to play straight up Assault and Medic without worrying about tanks rolling in. Very fun. I've got about 3,000 points left to unlock the M60 LMG, and from there I'll start working on the Engineer unlocks. I haven't played a bad map yet. Panama Canal is so dense. I love fighting there. So many nooks and crannies. I have a lousy 7 and a half hours of work before I can be reunited with my precious BC2.:P
My highlight so far is shooting down a UAV and a guy in the gunner seat of the chopper with the sniper rifle, plus calling in mortor strikes. The night time map is also my favorite due to the atmosphere.
I never even touched MW2's single player, so likewise with BFBC2, the multiplayer was the selling point for me.
If you love multiplayer and online action it's totally worth it! Same with MW2. But if you're only getting it for single player and don't care about multiplayer, aside from checking out a few matches here and there but not planning to pour hours into it, than I suggest skipping it and getting the older war games for cheaper.
Honestly, I love this game but I would not recommend to anyone who's only looking for a single player experience. Same with Modern Warfare 2. Which is why I cringe and roll my eyes everytime I read a thread or post that hates on MW2 because they thought the single player was a rip-off so therefore the whole game sucks. If they're not buying it for the multiplayer than why waste money at all? :?
[QUOTE="dvader654"]So... how is single player? :PrragnaarVisually it is amazing. One of the prettier games I've seen this gen. Outside of that, it didn't grab me.
This. The game starts out with a mystery, but then it forgets about it. wtf?
Just wondering, what do you guys think of this? I know some guys who have no interest in Battlefield Bad Company 2, no matter how much I try to convince them that this game is just as great as Modern Warfare 2, even saying it's better, they still don't care. Yet they always play MW2. Do you think there's a difference between MW2 fans compared to guys like us who enjoy both? I've heard many times before that a lot of MW2 fans are casuals, meaning they play nothing else but Modern Warfare. Like this one guy on my friends' list I know, all he plays is MW and nothing else. I know it's his own preference but it's a little weird that that's all he plays. There's so much variety and so many great games but everytime I see him online, he's playing Modern Warfare. It kind of irritates me, even though it shouldn't. Which is why I'm concerned that BFBC2 won't put up MW2 numbers. It's kind of a shame really. And I'm no slouch when it comes to Modern Warfare since I played the first and second to death. But I admit that Battlefield Bad Company 2 is just as good, if not, even better. So why do most MW2 players show a lack of interest towards BFBC2? I have no idea. But what do you guys think?ASK_Story
BC2 won't sell as good as MW2 nor will it have as many players online. I wouldn't concern myself as to why others don't like BC2, if you enjoy the game then simply find others who do as well and have a blast.
