I said this before but I'll say it again. I think we should play the whole game before we claim the game sucks. The demo wasn't great, but the whole game might be. In fact, I bet it is great. We need to wait until March 17 to truly see what this game is all about.ASK_Story

By all accounts, the controls of the demo mirrors those of the full game. So I don't see how someone unhappy with the controls schemes of the demo would walk away from the full game happy.

Everytime I load it up something different happens in the combat, a strategy I use one time might fail the next time. Sheva might get into trouble and I have to bail her out, or I might get into trouble and I have to bail her out. I always make it a goal to kill axe guy before time runs out and sometimes it comes right down to the wire, I had to get that last grenade in to stun him and then come in for the punch to finish him off right as the helicopter dude is saying he is ready to help. There are also all the little things you pick up as you play like once I got really close to chainsaw guy, I was right in front of him and he started shaking his head and he had this evil almost joker like laugh before he tried to cut me, nice touch. The action is as good as it gets, just like RE4 it seems to have near infinite replay value.dvader654

lol, u just noticed that? That laugh freaked me out the first time I played that level, right before I got beheaded. Oh and I finally took down the Axe guy by myself today, that sniper trick you taught me worked like a charm. :)

I also cant get enough of this demo. Forget me, a couple of my friends spent 2 hours trying to kill that chainsaw dude. It was hilarious, and frustrating at the same time. One of them doesn't play games that much, while the other had played RE4 but both kept freaking out. Even I couldn't clear that level with them because they kept dying on me. After 2 hours though, they finally came up with a strategy (on their own I might add) and finally took him down. Their reaction was priceless! It was like they had conquered Mount Everest or something!

I dont understand how these guys, who arent even "gamers", can get used to the controls while life long gamers in this thread simply refuse to accept them. The core gameplay is obviously a lot of fun and worth getting used to the slightly outdated controls.

I tried to go back and play RE4 today, and man does RE5 make this game look bad. The controls also took a lot of getting used to, I missed a lot of the melee moves, Ashley made me realize how much I really miss Sheva, and the inventory system also felt a bit outdated. Playing RE4 again made me realize how improved RE5 really is.

You probably wont have problems with controls because you're still using the RE4 control scheme. After playing the RE5 demo for a good 10-15 hours, I'm used to aiming with the right analog stick and shooting with R1.
