Destructoid has a picture of what might be the PS4 controller.  It looks more like a prototype than a finished product to me, but that sure looks like what has been described.

The sticks are ugly, and I'm not sure why it has a speaker.

Controller looks all right. I just hope they improve the trigger buttons. They're in serious need of a revamp.

I would like to see a controller done right that you could customize yourself meaning you could choose where to put the sticks or the buttons. I don't know how it would actually work but something like that would be sweet.GodModeEnabled

Mad Catz actually did this with their MLG controller, problem is that Mad Catz makes garbage controllers and they charged $100 for this one. 

I've been thinking Microsoft and Sony should really offer more controller options. Not everyone has the same hand size or preferences as to what the controller layout is. Make multple versions that appeal to more people.

Ugh. Mad Catz. Can't count the number of controllers I bought from them that went on to fail within days of purchase.

Well considering how well PS3 did this generation i'm more excited about the Xbox 720. It will just be another overly expensive box with little to no good exclusives and with less people online to play multiplayer with.kickingcarpet

Good luck with that. I'm sure MS will be unveiling the X720 in the near future.

Is it just me or do the handles look longer?

Still don't know what the L2/R2 triggers look like. I'm hoping they make them concave like the 360's.

Eurogamer has confirmed that the controller shot is real though it probably isn't the final version. They also pointed out that the new controller has Move functionality built in (via the glowing blue window at the front). I don't like the concave thumbsticks, but if that's in the final version, I'll deal (it could be a lot worse).

So built in Mic. TWO Cameras positioned adjacent to the console and an LED strip on the Controller.

They might be able to do some motion tracking without the need of a motion controller. The two cameras might be able to detect depth perception even better than the Eye Toy but aside from head tracking in racing games I dont see how the LED would work with the camera.

I saw on Gamespot News that a report states that PS4 will be streaming PS3 games.

So wait, does that mean that all or just current PS3 titles will be made available via stream? So, essentially, does that really mean backwards-compatibility?

If it does, that would seal the deal for me on getting a PS4.

Yep. Didn't get as much press as OnLive did, but they've been at the game streaming business for a while.

Plus they are better at streaming High End games than Onlive. They have a better streaming system. They can make it even better by focusing just on the cell processors.

There will still be lag and it still wont be as good as playing the real thing, but it will be better than what you get on PC. 

So we basically know everything Sony will show on wednesday.

We have the controller which will have some form of Move built in. Streaming service for PS3 BC and more. Last Story PS4. MGS on PS4. New Guerrilla game. New Motorstorm team game. Something from Square, possibly FFXV. LBP Home.

Last Story? lol it's been so long you've forgotten the name! I wouldn't be too sure it will be at this meeting since Ueda recently just said it's upto Sony to reveal the game, didnt seem too enthusiastic about it.

There should be an Uncharted teaser like the snow one and the desert one used to reveal Uncharted 2 and 3. It's been well over a year since U3 came out, and seeing as how ND's ICE Team likely designed the PS4 specs, they should already have an engine ready for a prerendered ingame teaser. 

Geoff Keighley said there will be third party surprises and announcements so maybe EA will show off the new Respawn Entertainment game? Ubisoft likely wont pass on this oppurtunity to show off Watch Dogs to a massive audience. Plus like EA, they've been in bed with Sony for a while now showing off their games at E3 pressers and giving exclusive DLC to Sony.

Also, I doubt Sony would show off a new PS without showing Gran Turismo. It's been well over two years since GT5 came out, they have to have something to show. Maybe just a teaser.

Sucker Punch have also been quiet since Infamous 2 came out a year and a half ago. That's more than enough time to show us a teaser. Full reveal at E3.

Sony Santa Monica has a second team with Stig working on a new IP with vehicles. Maybe 8 Days makes a comeback? :P 

Also, Guerrilla tweeted that they have 200 employees and that 2013 is going to be their biggest year ever. They are supposedly working on two different games, and were working on this new IP way back in 2010. They have to have something to show. 

Sony showed a ton of CGi trailers for games at E3 2005. I highly doubt they will only show two or three first party games when they have so many AAA teams working on new IPs and high profile sequels. 

Lastly, Geoff seemed very hyped for this show and he usually has some inside info on these things. He expected there to be a lot of content. It's good to go in with lowered expectations but I think Sony's going to blow our expectations out of the water.

One of the guys from Quantic Dream is in New York right now, and the Kara demo was just re-uploaded on Sony EU's youtube channel.  That demo looked way too good for PS3 hardware.

I dont think the co founder being there means much. Everyone in the industry who has some clout is going to be there. Though a tech demo from QD wouldnt be surprising. The PS3 one was phenomenal back in 2006.

I don't think Sonic's style of gameplay/game design lends itself to free roaming in the same way that Mario's does.

Kara looked current gen to me as well, but since its not going to come out anytime soon, it would beshocking if it weren't bumped to the PS4.

Crossing my fingers that Guerrilla's new IP is an RPG. That would be hard for me to ignore.

Revealing Fifa, Madden and Watch Dogs wont cut it. They will need massive third party announcements as well. I know Sony has an embarrassment of the riches and might want to save some stuff for E3, GDC and Gamescom but after all this hype, at this point, if they dont show these games below it's going to be a big disappointment.

We've all been talking about the PS4 since this event was first announced.

You dont reveal your biggest product in 8 years and half ass it just so you have some more stuff to show at gaming focused events such as E3 or GDC. All the mainstream press is going to be there on Feb 20th. If they want to make the biggest splash, and they have to now, they have to show all their cards. It will be silly not to show Uncharted which is their biggest franchise of this gen. Or Gran Turismo which is their biggest franchise of all time. Showing only one new IP will paint them as a sequel machine instead of a true leader. All these Sony devs I listed above haven't made a game in at least two years or more. You're telling me they cant put together a two minute teaser for these new IPs? I am not asking for game demos. Just teasers and trailers are fine. Just like they did back at E3 2005 where they showed one trailer after another. It was amazing. 

They can save walkthroughs for E3.

For the last week on the world news broadcasts on AM radio, they have been talking about Sony's conference and how it is likely going to be to announce the next Playstation. I think people who are thinking only geeks and gaming press will know about this have their heads in their asses a bit. I also saw them talking about it on Fox Business, which means they are also likely talking about it on CNN and MSNBC. Word's getting around.

I agree Sony needs to show games, and a fair amount of them at that. Just showing the PS4 and some tech demos would be disappointing. 

I went back and skimmed through the Sony E3 2005 conference. Here are all the games and tech demos they showed during this conference.

The original Sonic Adventure had a hub like open world you could run around in and re-select stages. I remember having fun in that open world so if they tweak it for something bigger I'm sure it'd be fine.

Geoff Keighley, Adam Sessler and Geoff Gertsmann are doing a Live pre show special together! I am glad I already told my manager i will be leaving half hour early. Now I can catch even the preshow starting at 5! mauahahha!
