Sony teases "the future" of Playstation - countdown to 2/20/13

Been waiting for a long time for this whole event! Looking forward to catching it tonight...the only way I'd would miss it is if I got called in for work, but that won't happen. :)

I'm going to miss part of the show because one of my daughters has her girl scout meeting tonight. I am tempted to tell her she can miss a night (meetings happen every two weeks, this is an event that happens every several years) but she really loves scouting and I'd feel like a complete jerk.

Honestly, if I was in Carnage's position, taking out my daughter to scouting is a lot more important than watching a gaming event (which could always be viewed later, BTW). I wouldn't miss spending time with my children at all if I was in his position.

So is this going to be the official thread to be posting in or is a new one going to be made and stickied? This is going to be crazy and I'd like to know where the party's at. :DMirkoS77

I think it was in this thread (or in another PS4 thread, can't remember which) that rag and Vari3ty discussed about opening up a new thread and alerting rag about it so that he can close down this thread. I'm hoping that's the case; there's been too many threads about the PS4 and its many gossips and rumors in various places, making it a little difficult to keep track of it all. So I'm in the favor of seeing everything in one thread and I hope that's the case today!

Sony Santa Monica has stated that 'Pandora's Box' will be opened today. Pretty odd to announce another console GoW before the last one ships, but what else could it be? Honestly, I can't think of anywhere else Sony can go with Kratos's story. They ought to put GoW (at most) or Kratos (at least) to pasture and come up with something or someone original (if they continue GoW they ought to have a new character confronting monsters that spring from a new mythology).

no way in hell thats another God of War game. They are supposedly working on a new IP with vehicles. I am expecting an Eighty Days styIe game.

And Guerrilla Games and Evolution Studios will blow you away.

Bear with me guys. Working on the hype thread, takes a bit rounding up all the rumors we've had.

Not really. I can see beyond the hype and overstatements :). I will just have to learn to deal with the decieved ;).

LOL. You are hilarious. I would not refer or ever was refering to UE3 tech demo, I was refering to the Killzone and Motorstorm "tech demo". Which we all can agree on that it was CG even though Sony was adamant about it being real time and later changing their tune to graphical representation of what they are aiming for. The main reason I am certain about a few things is that, this is what a I do, computer graphics is my speciality. :)

The fake gameplay footage back in 2005 was terrible, but that isnt't a deception Sony seems interested in repeating. Their PS Vita tech demo wasn't as accomplished as the near launch Gravity Rush.CarnageHeart
