I can't agree with you there, her clothing matches the extact patters of the sword and besides:
The Zoras have a more fishlike appearance
Exactly right. It's not a Zora. Have you also noticed that Link has no sword in his hand? And this girl has alot of characteristics of The Master Sword. You just got to look at her and The Master Sword at the same time, you'll realize it.You really think if it was him no one at the conference would have reported it right away? She is no master sword guys...

You know i love how no matter how hyped a zelda game is, it almost alwase lives or goes past expectations! Hopefully this one is the same!
Does she have 2 diamonds...The thing on her head is diamond shaped...if she is the master sword what is that extra diamond for...or is it just a decoration so she looks more...mystical...also the Random gray (white?) mark on the top right corner may look like that but if you zoom in you can see a sword... Although it is possible it's just a gray mark that happens to look extremely like a sword when you zoom in...Just some thoughts i decided to share...
if it's the friken mastersword i will hate zelda i just think that's stupid and they are taking away from the zelda series if they do this that way...zelda with out the master sword is the very first zelda...it would be pointless
Huh? None of the Gameboy games had the master sword and they are still considered to be very Zelda like. Neither did Majora's mask, actually.if it's the friken mastersword i will hate zelda i just think that's stupid and they are taking away from the zelda series if they do this that way...zelda with out the master sword is the very first zelda...it would be pointless

i said the first Zeldas didn't i? oh well. i played majoras mask and it's a great game but there is no need for a master sword in that game...IMO IMO IMO IMO IMO i think this is the stupidest idea ever! TP ALL THE WAY!!!
And what's stopping Nintendo of making another Zelda that doesn't need the Master Sword?i said the first Zeldas didn't i? oh well. i played majoras mask and it's a great game but there is no need for a master sword in that game...IMO IMO IMO IMO IMO i think this is the stupidest idea ever! Since the sword is up in that corner 100% sure of that maybe the diamonds do soemthing for it to become the mster sword or something

there isn't a sword in the corner. your eyes are playing tricks on you. and i doubt the 'bindi' on the girl's forehead is of much functional significance; it seems to be an 'aesthetic' decision (i guess it could be symbolic of something in a way though).
I think she is the Master sword. She looks like all of the hidden fairies in Windwaker, maybe they are all apart of the master sword? Maybe the "queen" is the main spirit, but to protect the swords TRUE power, she had to divide her spirit and separate it, so that it would not fall into the wrong hands. But that evil returns, Link must find all of the fairies scattereted around the world, and bring them to the queen fairy to combine and give the mastersword its TRUE power. hmm. Maybe there are fairies at all the temples, or those fairies are the sages that gave themselves to protect the land? All very speculative and interesting. I am dying to know what it really means. ColtneyOkay. Just cause it happends to KIND OF look like that fairy, doesn't mean it is. It was just a little similarity. And therefore, it was nothing to do with fairies. Case closed.
To me it looks like she's going to be your inventory in the game, more than just the sword.
She does looks like the Master Sword, yes, but she also looks like an arrow, as well as parts of the Hero's Bow. You can see similarities to the hookshot as well.
Her arms could turn into propellors and you could either fly, hover, or glide. She has that drop of water on her forehead, that could be the health potion. The diamond could be rupees. The list goes on.
Just a thought.

Look at these 2 pictures and tell me their faces (hell, their whole head) aren't practically identical:
Also, notice how she's older in the 2nd picture. But so is Link. He was just a kid in Wind Waker.

no bindi on the forehead of the WW fairy.
Just a quick thought,
How would you guys feel about a WW game but with the TP artstyle? what i mean is having the world set on the great sea and adultlink navigating on a boat, all this with the TP artstyle (or abit more stylish).
I was just thinking about this now and thought it sounds pretty good. Instead of seeing the great sea in a colourful cheary style, we could see the dark parts of it, sadness, etc.
to the people that think they see a sword in the upper right corner, there is no sword. It's a brush stroke people. You're taking this the same way as that "moon" picture. The emphasis is on the Girl/Link, not the background.
seriously
HEr hair is metalic, like the sword, but the fairy has real hair. And they look different in more ways. She has eyebrows, the fairy don't. Her legs are the color and pattern of the Master Sword's handle. Sorry, but it's not the fairy.ShockT
Yeah cause u know they dont ever change things from game to game LOL.
I tried to see what the chronological timeline of theZelda storyline was, but only ended up getting confused by it all.
The best idea that I've had is that she is the Great Queen ofFairies, but on the Twilight Princess timeline. Other then that, nothing at all. I'm not convinced that she is the Master Sword. Maybe the fact that Link isn't holding the master sword might be something else, instead of that'the girl is the sword!'. It could mean that he left it at home, so he has to find other things to use as weapons (aka The girl in the picture).
All we really know is that Ganon will appear, more smug then ever before. (Even if he is not the main villain of the piece, he'll still get a mention somewhere). Although I do hope they have a new villain, who is properly evil. Not smug, gloaty evil like Ganon.

She undeniably bares similarities to the master sword though. So logic would dictate that, Link with no sword + Girl who looks like swor means Girl = Sword. At the very least I think this girl is related to the master sword in some way, even if she isn't actually it.

Actually, I think he's onto something.
Now let's think about THIS--Those look-alike fairies were all on islands in Wind Waker, right? And Miyamoto said that there would be gameplay ideas for the next Zelda in Wii Sports Resort. What's in Wii Sports Resort? Well there's sword fighting (check), Archery(check), and- wait--what's this? Boating! Hmmm. Could Link be on a boat in this next Zelda game?

But they showed the Great Fairy in TP--and it didn't look like that.

the part that makes me think that she is the master sword is the fact link is in that position... it's almost like he's got her on his back!
also so if the sword did have a spirit inside it (much like the boomerang in the last one) wouldn't it be possible that it was one of the great faeries (how it's spelt in zelda)?
I agree with kieranb2000. She could be BOTH the Master Sword and Queen of the Fairies. I think the resemblance between the girl in the artwork and the Queen of the Fairies from the Wind Waker is a little too similar.
What if the Queen of the Fairies was some how involved in the creation of the Master Sword? What if she was stripped of some of her power or something in order to create the Blade of Evil's Bane and that's the reason for her wardrobe change? It might be stretching it, but it's just a thought. Assuming she does play an integral part in the story (which seems obvious) it might be interesting to have some sort of interaction like there was in Ico. This girl could ride on the back of Epona and hang on to Link. I'd prefer something a bit more original though. I'd rather not drag another character around the whole game (as much as I loved Ico, I'm not sure the same function would work in a game as expansive as Zelda).
Speaking of WiiMotion+, I'd like to see a return of the good old ball and chain from Twilight Princess. I'd like to whirl that thing around and chuck it at some enemies with the Wiimote. The bow and arrow is a given for nearly every Zelda game, so I'm sure that will make an appearance.

Sort brings to mind the "Lady in the Lake" of Arthurian legend, you know, where excalibur originated. Would make sense, after all if we're speculating it's the origin of the master sword it would have to be how the sword was setin the stone....

I like this theory... She could be link's ultimate weapon throughout the game. Nice thought Bob. I do hope that the game is about alot more than a weapon spirit though...Please Log In to post.
