Yeah everyone knows mine is the best.I have to admit a certain mesmerizing effect in forever wondering whether Opposite Mario will one day get that coin out of the ? block.

Personally, I like how his head sticks to the block for a bit longer than it should.
Oh, this is fun. I just found out in a few weeks I'll be teaching a grade 11 highschool economics course for student teaching. Fun fact: I have never taken an economics course, ever.
Better hit the text books here soon.
You better teach them the real reason for price drops. Judging by this forum, most teachers forget that bit...Oh, this is fun. I just found out in a few weeks I'll be teaching a grade 11 highschool economics course for student teaching. Fun fact: I have never taken an economics course, ever.

Pro tip: get very, very good drawing a graph with a diagonal line on it with the axes labeled as "P" and "Q".
There was a thread that said Sonic Colors Wii is getting the best reviews for a Sonic game since Adventure 2... Is tihs supposed to be a saying something?? I thought Sonic Adventure 2 was awful. The Sonic levels were good but the Tales robot levels and the Knuckles find-an-emerald levels were mind-numbing. I think colors looks decent so I wouldn't insult it like that.
Am I the only one who didn't like Sonic Adventure 2?

Luckily since it's a social studies class it's much more oriented towards the history component, it's more of a ..history of ecomomic development kind of thing, which isn't entirely out of my sphere of knowledge. My other class is Poli Sci 12 which I am incredibly excited for.

Well that sounds... entirely different and totally not an economics course, then. :P

To be honest I'm not entirely sure what it is. The syllabus is vague and the course is titled "Economic History" (originally I thought it was Ecological History, what with it's abreviation being "Eco Hist"). How much history it is and how much economics it is is going to be the factor in my success on this one :P
Well that sounds... entirely different and totally not an economics course, then. :PGabuExBut if that can pass as an economics course, then that might explain why it seems like so few teens know economics....
Most English cIasses stopped teaching how the English language works, so .. maybe the same thing happens in economics.

The moment English classes start beginning sentences with, "The English language was...", we're doomed. :P
On the bright side I'm now in charge of bringing up the next generation of socialists/communists :)
..Kidding of course.
Or am I.

Well you'll love it when you get to the topic of externalities and market failure; those are the chapters in economics textbooks that certain hardcore capitalists would prefer not to read. :P

In all seriousness though I am hoping to throw in some Marx readings into the political science class. If you ask me no one should be allowed to say "X is a marxist/communist!" unless they have at least read some of his stuff.

Pretty much, yeah. I don't think most people who call things communist/socialist even know what that means...
Marx seems pretty damn relevant to an economic history course, too, so it works on two levels! :P

Remember that those kids have to learn how the world works before they even begin to think about how it should work. It's easy to forget that they don't know what we know.

Just got Epic Yarn. It feels like... plastic.Head_of_gamesi've seen a number of videos. it doesnt look like something that would interest me at all.
yes. yes it is.I'm going to the midnight Black Ops launch tonight, to pick up Goldeneye.
Is that weird?

So Mass Effect 2 for PS3 continues to intrigue me. I'm leaning more and more to purchasing the game when it comes out next year. Sounds fun and the solution to no ME1 on PS3 seems adequate with the interactive comic that still has you make choices critical to the main story.
i havent read any of the new stuff on it, but im on the fence right now...i'll probably just end up waiting til its cheap. So Mass Effect 2 for PS3 continues to intrigue me. Sold out or what? I got the last copy at my local Target on Wednesday morning. He had to sell me the display copy.Midnight Black Ops/Goldeneye pick up failure.

Well my roommate is the one who had Black Ops preordered, so I decided to tag along to pick up Goldeneye as well. None of us are like "WE NEED TO PLAY BLACK OPS TONIGHT!" But we were awake so we figured why not stop by Gamestop and either hope for a short or fast moving line. Of course none of that was the case and the line was huge and not moving.
So on one hand we wasted about 20 minutes, but I say better that than 3 hours waiting in in the cold rain. It'll still be there tomorrow, the day after, and the day after that even!

I think it's the depression from Stafford's news
They're going to have to get another starting QB for a season or two for insurance

Don't get me started on that...lol.... Sean Hill is adequate for this year, if he doesn't get hurt then we'll be able to get hopefully 5 wins max. Then they need to draft a developmental QB in the late rounds. Hill is signed through next year. Stafford should be playing by the start of next year and we can hope he doesn;t get hurt again. It's a similar injury to what Sam Bradford had. The sad part is, the kid really can play, but he can't stay on the field.I wish money were no object because there are quite a few games I would love to try. I've been scouring this site, gametrailers, and ign the past few days watching and reading reviews and gameplay vids. The DS, Wii, and PS3 all have games that I just want to go out and buy now or when they come out in the next few months. The interweb can be a beautiful thing sometimes.

Oh remember the times when the only way to know if a game was good or not was to ask your friends or go out and rent it.. best case scenario maybe a Nintendo Power review.
It's odd looking back on my N64 collection, which was built on those principles, it's actually almost all high quality games. Only blemish is Pokemon Stadium, but I used that mostly as a storage box and a way to play the Gameboy game on the big screen.
