Sin and Punishment 2 seems to have a serious lack of presence in this forum, and I have to wonder.... why?
It adresses many of the complaints people in this forum have had over the years about the Wii.
1. It's a core game, designed specifically for veteran gamers. I would even go so far as to say that this game is made to satisfy a hardcore gaming mood. It's challenging, it's fast-paced, it's fun, and it requires serious skill that can only be accumulated over at least a dozen playthroughs. The online leaderboards help you judge your skill and easily motivate you to keep it up.
2. It makes excellent use of the Wii remote. There's no useless motion controls... no accelerometer use at all, actually. It just uses the pointer for shooting, the analog stick for moving, and the buttons for dodging, shooting, and melee.
3. It's not a rail shooter, at least not in the sense that everyone complains about. You have a physical character on the screen in addition to the aiming reticle, so you literally have to pay attention to the entire screen at once. Watch a video, you'll understand. You're not just looking for the one moving thing on the screen like in an arcade-styIe rail shooter because EVERYTHING is moving and most of it can either hurt you or be killed or both.
It seems to me like this forum should've been lit up with questions and comments about this game, since it requires so much skill and there's so much strategy involved and it's so freakin fun. But there have only been a couple of threads. What's up with that?
So why haven't you played it yet? And if you have, what do you think?
Anyone who's been pining for a new Star Fox game in the vein of Star Fox 64 should be in love with this game. It does almost everything SF64 did but better, with the exception of a map screen with branching paths.
