[QUOTE="Colt45fool"]OK, so Tyreke Evans...what's good with him? What does he bring to the table [draftexpress isn't working atm]....I'm kind of upset with this pick honestly, especially with the chance of Rubio, but Petrie must have thought Rubio would bust to skip on him. idk...I want to hold off judgement of the pick until I find out what Evans does. I'm really dissapointed that he's a 2-guard though....it's not like we don't have Cisco, and K-Mart holding down the #2 spot....he must be a combo guard :?Orlando_Magic
Tyreke Evans had been dominating the workouts, and Rubio is a huge question mark so that's why you guys ultimately decided on Evans. Evans has great size, amazing ball handling, can get to the rim at will, and is a great finisher. He's a good passer and has good vision but in that aspect he's not as good as Rubio. As long as he doesn't end up like Larry Hughes it'll most likely be a good pick. I talked about a lot the PG's here if you want to read it.
And Jrue Holiday is a good pickup at #17 by the Sixers, but like I've been saying pretty much all along, all those mock drafts that had him going from #2 through #4 were overrating him so much.
I hope Minnesota doesn't plan on playing Rubio and Flynn together in the backcourt. I really think they only drafted Rubio to trade him... but I guess we'll see.
What I said about the draft in February, including some Tyreke Evans talk
Not much changed up because Griffin, Thabeet, and Harden did end up going 1-2-3. I did bring up Tyreke Evans because I like his game a lot, and his stock rose a ton since February. Back then most mocks had him being picked somewhere in the teens and then by draft night he goes #4...
Obviously Greg Monroe decided to not enter the draft since then, but he's gotta be the early #1 choice for next year's draft at the moment. Monroe (SF/PF) and John Wall (PG) are the two top prospects for next year's draft imo.
So, he plays defense, and scores like a young Larry Hughes....not bad, I suppose. I would prefer Rubio, but I guess Evans is fine....Kings also picked up Sergio Rodriguez from Portland, and Omri Caspi from Israel....anyone know anything about either player? I'm kind of shocked they took a SF, but I guess they're not sold on Donte' Greene yet, which I'm not surprised about...Kings look like this next year...
C: Spencer Hawes
PF: Jason Thompson, Jon Brockman, Kenny Thomas
SF: Andres Nocioni, Omri Casspi, Donte Greene
SG: Kevin Martin, Francisco Garcia
PG: Tyreke Evans, Beno Udrih, Sergio Rodriguez
RFA's - Ike Diogu, Rashad McCatns, Cedric Simmons
And for the future...
C: Spencer Hawes
PF: Jason Thompson/Jon Brockman
SF: Omri Casspi/Donte' Greene
SG: Kevin Martin/Francisco Garcia
PG: Tyreke Evans/Sergio Rodriguez/Beno Udrih
Hopefully Casspi turns into the next Peja? Or Hedo? lol, it's possible...the pick reminds me of Peja a lot. I bet every king fan was saying W-T-F when they saw that pick...Petrie does his homework on late round foreign players though, so even though I don't know who Casspi is, I expect him to be an all-star at some point. lmao
