Oh noez 2 car threads in 1 week in OT? dis topech has bin done 2 deth!!!

Anyway, American cars are obviously the best. Proof? I have none other than eye candy:

2008 Super Snake 605:

T3h specs:
0-60 in 4.4(Can't launch in 1st gear due to massive wheelspin)
Tq: 590lb-ft (533 at the wheels)
HP: 605 at the flywheel (557 at the wheels)
1/4th mile: Comes in 12.5 @ 120mph flat
Slalom: .93g so it handles pretty good for a 2 ton car or even a sports car(Which it isn't)

This is just the 605, theres another one with a Kenne Bell supercharger kaing 725hp at the flywheel and 650lb-tq. The only problem I have with these cars is the launch due to the engine spooling up, over powering the tires. If you can correct the launch, which will inevitably have an effect on handling overall, then you have car that can hang with the best of them.

American cars are just pure muscle, which is cool. But they just don't have the style or quality of a European or Japanese car.

Performance doesn't mean **** to the average driver, that is one of the major problems with the car industry these days and one of the main reasons Japanese cars hold their value for so much longer, they are built to last more than three years unlike American cars which are resold for the newest piece shiny of car-ass that comes along and has 13 extra hp.

Agreed. American cars are only tolerated because of games such as NFS but asides from that not many people really like them. European and Japanese cars are superior in build and efficency.

How can I prove a general opinion? I could probably find something but I won't for now, what I am saying is that most American cars are just a large engine in a stylish body, there is very little passion or true design involved.

sty1e is preference...quality can be proven.

Previous year's studies have shown Ford narrowing the quality gap with Japanese automakers. This year's report found that Ford is now in a statistical dead-heat with Japan's leading carmakers, according to a source who had reviewed the numbers.detnews

if you want proof go to a cadillac dealer and sit in a escalade then go to a mercedes dealer and sit in a g class the interior bulid quality is like night and day, i did that at the car show this year, american cars are notorious for there terrible interiors, the only thing i dont like about my 2001 lincoln ls is the build quality on the interior theres just to many cheap plastics

I gotta go with European cars, although Japanese cars are great as well, or are even better, depending on what you're looking for. American cars... I'm pretty sure Americans drive them because they don't know what they're missing. :P

Way to generalise. Try driving a TVR and see how you get along.

And yet again I think Europe = Japanese >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> American.

Europe for style, high market car, especially supercar variety, and Japan for everyday cars, reliability, price, mpg etc.

Personally I'd take Japanese cars, since they're usually better in the areas that matter to most people.

My view of cars is that our American cars win in the category of personality and enthusiasm, whereas they're lacking a little more in how well they're built. European cars seem to traditionally have this look like they were created by a bunch of intellectuals who were trying to make a car look as intelligent as possible, therefore they can look sleek but often come out as looking overly "focused" without enough enthusiasm and style. Japanese cars have a way of resembling a McDonald's toy, especially with their compact cars. Their other cars look a lot like the average European car.

European cars suck in the regard of supercars, every "Supercar" they make is $200,000. Why do they get out performed by cars that are 1/3rd the price? Because your paying for a name plat rather than actual performance.
