The fact that every Texan household has several 12-gauges is the only thing keeping Mexico from invading us! Mark my words...

[QUOTE="The-King-of-FPS"]I'm sick of these hippies around the world challenging the second amendment constantly because they fear that guns will somehow form a new human nature trait that will cause death, violence, and war. Well war has been going gone since before guns were invented and if we have guns to defend our selves while cops in britian have hard sticks then that's there fault and downfall.Hewkii

I have an idea: give everyone nuclear weapons, then no one will have anything to fear.

Exactly that makes no sense, I bet the only reason there isn't much stricter gun control is because of the second amendment, the fact is that it is very dated and times were different back than, times change, the laws should to.

If I were personally given the choice, I'd remove the Second Amendment from the Constitution. I hate guns. Dark_Knight6

Why? Then all you'd be doing is taking guns away from the law abiding citizens. Because whether or not guns are legal, criminals will still get them through black market ties or through other means, so with the law-abiding citizens being without guns all you'd see is more crime and more innocent people getting shot. Way to go with your removal of second ammendment rights there buddy :P

yet if less are produced, then logically less can go to the Black Market and then less will be sold to criminals.

Save the hundreds of thousands of firearms already in circulation, and making ammunition is a very simple task.

I will say this once, regardless of it's insanity. If you come near my home and try to take my gun, your family will become very staunch gun control supporters for a very specific reason, I don't care who you are.

You could Ahnuld. Come and take my guns away. Try it.

Machine guns and automatic weapons already carry staunch legislation, and your theory is extremely flawed.

The military and government produce thousands of firearms every year, and for some reason, thousands go missing. Unless noone on the planet makes guns at all, guns will find their way into the black market. Disarming civilian dealers of production does not yield results.

See the massive number of foreign makes of weapon and ammunition in the American gun black market. It doesn't work, unless you elimate humanity from the equation, and you can't.

Computers encourage hacking and piracy.

Credit Cards encourage debt and identity theft.

Microwaves cause cancer.

Having sex causes STD's

Automobiles can kill people.

Money enocourages people to kill people.

Knives can kill people AND you dont need a license to buy one.

An electric chord can be used to strangle someone.

Fatty Foods can cause high cholesterol, obesity, and death.

Lets make all of these illegal. Why? Well we either dont regulate them or what regulation we have obviously doesnt work as whatever they cause still happens.

Anyone see where I'm getting at here?

I am against gun bans. Not against heavier control. Columbine is an example of need for heavier control, but a ban will not work, nor will any form of extremely heavy control.

Yeah, and it does a mighty fine job at it. I would not want our soldiers out in the battlefield with anything less. I would not want to be faced up against a murderer/rapist/burglar with anything less. I want an even playing field.

I have been to countries with strict gun control. In the news, you will hear of murders and rapes and if it wasnt done with a gun obtained illegally - it would have been done with a knife, some other object, or their own hands.

Again, going back to my original statement, by removing them from homes all you'd be doing is taking them away from law-abiding citizens, criminals will still find a way to get their hands on firearms, so without guns in peoples homes, criminals will have a field day with looting people's houses because they'll will find a way to acquire a firearm. The ONLY way to stop firearms is to completely eradicate them from existence, stop manufacturing them, stop making them for even military usage because many that military issue end up in the hands of criminals, every firearm in circulation you'd need to destroy and that is the ONLY way you'd eliminate it. But let's say you did that, people would just kill each other with bows and arrows, take those away, they'd use spears, then rocks, etc... Bottom line if a person wants to kill someone it's going to happen regardless of whether or not a gun is involved, we need better criminal control... NOT better gun control. Guns don't kill people...people kill people.

Hmm well thats strange I have lived in Greece for 10 years, and I probably have heard of more gun crimes in 4 months of American television than in those 10 years. Also a ban on guns wouldn't ban them from the military that's just stupid. How many times have you, or someone you know have been approached by a murderer or rapist to feel the need to carry a gun?

The paperwork and registration is significantly more difficult to carry through, and they're far more stingy with who they approve.

There are legally sanctioned machine guns.

The thing is, there are far more illegally garnered machine guns than not. Many states permit machinegun ownership. I know sevral people with various makes of assault rifles or submachineguns.

Thing is, virtually every major drug dealer is probably packing an AK47, at the least.

Anyone see where I'm getting at here?

all of those have uses, a guns primary purpose is to kill

Yeah, and it does a mighty fine job at it. I would not want our soldiers out in the battlefield with anything less. I would not want to be faced up against a murderer/rapist/burglar with anything less. I want an even playing field.

I have been to countries with strict gun control. In the news, you will hear of murders and rapes and if it wasnt done with a gun obtained illegally - it would have been done with a knife, some other object, or their own hands.

Lets see... when I was younger, we owned a store and my dad was robbed at gunpoint. And one of my closest friends was raped and left for dead in her apartment. My aunt was kidnapped as a kid too -- but I dont know if that counts.

Oh and to add -- you forget that comparing the size of Greece to the United States ... you're probably getting only the preselected news from what -- the 4 timezones of the US. While we get what... one or two if we're lucky about news from your country unless it involves international news. Lets face it... everyone wants to know what America is doing.

Do you honestly think every military general just wants his pension?

If the military produces guns some of them just happen to "poof away".

Where do you think they go? Fairyland?

It only takes one time. Oh if you include insane drug addict or gang member, I have seen 2 of course they had no harmful intent.

If America was to make all guns illegal, it wouldn't make a difference. People will still find ways to get their hands on a gun. Look at all the illegal drugs in this country, there illegal but it doesn't stop people from getting them.

Read my previous post. Be lucky its never happend to you or your family. And if it has and you or your family is still here... lucky for you. Pray it never happens again. With me - I'd rather have my own insurance than relying on the idea that if it does happen, I'm unprepared and all I can do is pray that the bad bad person grows a heart and a brain within those last few seconds.

So if everything is fine and security is superb then why is it bad to allow guns?

I believe people should be able to have guns for hunting, self defense, and collection I am nore concerned how people use them. Keeping a loaded pistol in plain view is stupid. Running around pulling it out to look cool is also foolish.

What part? I live in LA too. Its pretty chill here unless you live in a bad neighborhood. But seriously... what is the most cliche line people say when a crime happens...

"YOU ALWAYS HEAR IT HAPPEN TO OTHER PEOPLE... I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAPPEN TO ME." (add to that... "THIS IS SUCH A SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD")

I don't really see the need for families to purchase guns, but I'm not against it.

Exactly. Like this 60+ year old lady I heard about who lived nearby only two weeks ago. She had her home broken into by teenaged boys. She yelled "Jay get the gun!" and they bolted, but thing is she was widowed, unfortunately, and DIDN'T own a gun. What if they decided to actually play her wager?

She'd be dead.

I know. I grew up a wild child. I know what I was capable off -- imagine others. Ugh!
