[QUOTE="LOXO7"][QUOTE="KiIIyou"]It's always the Aheists.the_plan_manTo believe in something you have a name for it. If you don't believe in something what do you name it? Nothing. Not believing is not caring. It doesn't affect you. Clearly you haven't been around many atheists. They forcefully shove their beliefs down your throat (whether you like it or not) and believe you're "dumb" if you don't go along with them.
Yeah, generalizing is fun...
Not every atheist or Christian shoves their beliefs down throats, only the most vocal.

People who don't believe in something shouldn't be called the opposite of what that belief is. They shouldn't associate with that word at all or do what the other group does like preach their views. That is giving credit to that group in this case theists.
Whether or not you agree with the message, the ("stupid") majority of Americans believe in Christianity, and there's nothing offensive about the display. Had the message been opposite a Christian billboard that has Jesus on it and says "Turn to me, or burn," I would think "good for them." But what they're doing is just offensive in-of itself. you misunderstood me, by "What they did was stupid", I meant the atheists. Since it was already up, they had no right to just forcefully take it down. They should petition and go through the legal system like everyone else.[QUOTE="the_plan_man"][QUOTE="dkdk999"] What they did what stupid but nativity scenes shouldn't be there in the first place. Tradition isn't a good excuse.hummer700
They didn't forcefully tear anything down, they put in a request to buy public space to display, they won the raffle, they bought the space.
This country is really getting out of hand. Anybody can do anything they dam well please....all they have to say is "I'm offended" and cry like litte babies and they will get their way.
Nativity scenes come hand in hand with x-mas because x-mas is a Christian holliday. It's like going out to get your favorite hamburger, then come to find out that resturant doesnt sell hamburgers on buns anymore because a certain group was "allergic" to hamburger buns. Bottom line in this scenario, if you are allergic, don't buy it. Same goes for x-mas and nativity scenes, if you don't believe in God and Jesus then A) don't celebrate x-mas or B) Celebrate x-mas in a non religious fashion with your non religious buddy's and family....leave the rest of us alone.

would you say the same thing if a jewish group had bouth out the signs and placed a menora?

Again, nobody had anything torn down because they were offended. A group bought space that was raffled out to the public. Had this been anything other than Christmas decoration not a single person in the world would give a single f*ck.
Not sure what anyone's complaining about, they fairly won the spaces in a lottery. :?chessmaster1989They intentionally stole away a spot used by a Christian group for years for the general public to spread an anti-Christian message...I don't think that's a coincidence.

They didn't steal anything. The Christian group had every bit as much chance as the other group to win every space in the raffle.

Because it doesn't matter what political belief you follow, what faith you have, what videogame system you own, or what your favorite color is. Anyone can be a jackass or a hypocrite, regardless of any other defining personality traits.
man... i hate it when people are jerks about their views. Like I hate it when i bring up that im a christian in a conversation and the guy im talking to goes "haha you know that your religion is stupid and there is no god right?" Im a christian, but i never do the same to anybody who holds any other belief. I know that it goes both ways, but we need to find a way for both beliefs to co-exist without demonizing (no pun intended) each other
They are definately trying for website hits. They are trolling christians

By your logic the Christian group is also comprised of terrible people as they also paid to use the space, and paying for something is a bad thing. So maybe it would have been better in your eyes if the Atheist group actually had gone up, and actually stole the space.
there are people who actually care about the nativity scene?Seraphy-
They only care because it's Atheists, and they're ruining the sanctity of Christmas.

Is this yet another spin attempt to slander a group that numbers several hundred million on the world stage? Seriously, it's getting annoying that so many people jump at any opportunity to call atheists dicks.
there are people who actually care about the nativity scene?Seraphy-Well apparently for 60 years they did but not so much anymore. Well 14 down to 2, so 1/7th of the people who used to care still care. The others are watching the O'Reilly Factor.

Why do you even have to ask? Don't be so daft. Atheists purchased some ad space that Christians have been using for Christmas as a tradition for 60 years, with the sole intention of pissing them off... It's Christmas time. The Christians are trying to celebrate their holiday and mind their holiday. If there were posters accompanying the Nativity scene for the past 60 years saying "Believe or Burn!!", "Atheists will go to hell!!", then I'd say, hey, let the Atheists go wild and retaliate. But it's not, It's a harmless expression of beliefs. And these pricks go out of their way to discourage people's beleif by expressing their lack-there-of, with the sole intention to piss people off. I don't get it? What are they trying to prove? You don't believe anything, wonderful, now why are you acting almost as preachy as the religions you loathe so much? Just let it be. And don't gimee this BS of "dey wanna enlighten teh minds with teh truthhh!!" If you're going to post idiotic anti God symbols at a freakin Christmas Nativity scene thinking CHRISTIANS are going to say "hm. you know what? I don't believe in Jesus! what a crock!", you're a moron.
Is what they did unjust and unfair? No. They got the space fair and square.
But does that make them look any less like pretentious penises? No.
This is the equivalent of, I don't know, some radical Christians buying a spot in a beloved annual science convention that's been going on for 60 years and condemning scientists by saying they're all going to hell and what-not. What are they going to prove? They're just pissing people off. (Except at least these Christians would be advocating the belief of something rather than a lack of, which just sounds silly to do in the first place)
But really, the irony here is that all of the Christians will go on with their life, celebrate their holiday, while all these radical Atheists will have achieved NOTHING and just ostracize themselves even lower on the rungs of society, and go back in their basement to blog about this "victory" on their site. Way to go in making a name for yourself in society, Atheists... This reminds me of the the radical Muslims who f**k everything up for the good Muslims in societey, (and no I'm not saying atheists are like radical Muslims.) Frankly, if I was an Atheist, I would be ashamed.
My best friends are atheists, but I respect them because they don't go stomping out my Nativity scene under my Christmas tree, just as I don't hang a crucifix on their door whenever I enter their house.

Yet again, it's okay for Christians to shove their belief system down everyone else's throats for two months a year because of Christmas.
You people lack reading comprehension. There's a differemce between celebrating what you believe and "shoving down your throat"... In this situation, the Atheists are the ones doing the shoving.

@Bloodaxe726 It depends on what the Girl Scouts would of used it for. Nothing, like these people? Yes. I would say the same thing. A tradition of 60 years and then all of a sudden someone else buys the space to not put anything on it? Fair is fair right? But it's not fair because they spent money to do nothing. It's hurting them and others. Like an Internet troll.
Read through the article, and all I can say is lol, troll successful.
