Hoobastank is actually one of the only rock bands I enjoy listening to. But I'm more into Hip-Hop and R&B.

I'll take metal and hardcore punk over alt rock garbage anyday. Bands that I think are terrible are:

You might not like the sound of metal but the people you mentioned at least have talent. The same can't be said about the bands you like...

I just listen to what I like.

The metal bands I like are from back in the day, like Pantera, Metallica, Exoddus, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, etc, etc. I like a lot of europeanstuff also, but that really isn't new, I liked that stuff like, 10 years ago (Opeth, In Flames, Soilwork, Meshuggah, Celtic Frost).

I just really don't like Lamb of God, God Forbid, Trivium, etc, etc. Just not my thing.

The newer bands I like are High on Fire are, Mastodon (though not really new).

Rage Against The Machine are excellent. Gorgoroth, Cannibal Corpse, Nile - they are all horrible, horrible bands.JJ4545
