[QUOTE="gubrushadow"][QUOTE="Good-Apollo"]The prophet was a warlord, he deserves to be made fun of.DraugenCP

there were millions of warlords , how did only one made such a huge culture ?? think again please .

Because the biggest monsters traditionally build the biggest empires.

What emprie? There was no empire until a few 100 years later. And well the whole warlord point is ignorant as it is, on its own merits.

Wrong. There are many terrorist attacks and riots started by Hindu terrorists, usually because they want more political power or oppress religious minorities. You also forgot to mention Zionists.

I would get very angry, I might even punch the person. What I would NOT do however, is grab an axe and try to kill the person who insulted my mother.

Respect for others beliefs is important, you shouldn't go out of your way to offend others, but being offended does not give you the right to harm that person. Freedom of speech isn't something we should just toss out the window whenever someone might get offended.

I did get your point. Most "terrorists" may be Muslims, but that does not mean most Muslims are terrorists.

Also, I think it's a bit unfair when attempted murder gets labelled as terrorism just because the person attempting it is Muslim. No one called the attack by the German white supremacist on the pregnant Egyptian lady terrorism.

Yet, this is the crucial bit. Not everyone is like you.

Some may not care at all, some may complain, some may wanna shoot, some may wanna get an axe and practice their tree chopping skills on the guy.

The way everyone reacts is different and you expect different and unusual results too.

Freedom or no freedom, todo violence is one thing, to INDUCE hatred and violence is another.

A terrorist is a person who utilizes the fear generated by an attack to his advantage and not necessarily the direct results of the attack itself. so this specific attack could be terrorism(if the planners meant to prevent further muhamad caricatures) or a simple attemted murder.

so, he practiced freedom of speech? then he should be ready for the backlash. With a cartoon like the one he made, the backlash was expected to be a huge one.

Or maybe it could be to get back at him? I doubt the cartoonist was going to make any more of those pictures especially after the episodes that followed. Either way, screw the political correctness, I'm pretty sure the only person are claiming terrorist is because he's Muslim. If it was a Christian killing a cartoonist who mocked Jesus, he would not be labelled a terrorist.

if it was a terror attack, it wouldn't be to stop the same guy from publishing more muhamad caricatures, it would be so other cartoon artists in the west would think twice before doing the same. and you're right, the person in your example, wouldn't be labeled a terrorist ,but only because the majority of people are very bad terminology wise and have no idea what a terrorist is.

Who cares? Jesus gets made fun of all the time. Hell, there is even a recurring role for Jesus on South Park (he even gets killed one episode trying to save Santa). How often do you hear the Christians complaining? This guy had every right to make fun of Islamic prophet. And yes it may hurt some peoples feelings, but all comedy does. And honestly, I think the Islam is fair game for comedy, especially recently with the amount of violence being done in the name of Islam, but the hypocrisy of calling it the religion of peace. If your religion can't stand up to a cartoon making fun of it, then it wasn't a very strong religion.

wrong. zionism is the jewish nationalist movement which purpose in it's foundationwas to strive to the existence of a jewish state. it's actually a secular movement, and israel is a secular state.

When you make fun of the people in your own country, and they accept it, that is one thing. When you are at war with another nation, and you echo sensitive remarks against them, its another. Just look at how many people want to bomb Iran sheerly because Ahmedinajad questioned the dramatization of the holocaust.

It was sarcasm. My point being: why are people shocked that there are fringe elements from those regions who are pissed at us, when we are bombing the hell out of their countries, controlling their resources, and keeping their dictators in power?

When soldiers fire a gun it's because they are being fired upon. They don't care who is behind the other gun. It's self preservation....

[QUOTE="grape_of_wrath"]and just to add to my claim. do one of you know what a zionist is?grape_of_wrath

Person who believes Israel has a holy and divine right to exist.

wrong. zionism is the jewish nationalist movement which purpose in it's foundationwas to strive to the existence of a jewish state. it's actually a secular movement, and israel is a secular state.

Haha, people will claim that it's the Jewish homeland referring to the people, but it hardly makes any difference. It's like saying Hamas isn't an Islamic terrorist group, only a Palestinian one.

Yet you would get laughed at if you say Hamas has nothing to do with Islam. Same for Zionism and Judaism.

[QUOTE="SquatsAreAwesom"][QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"] Some people feel very deeply for their country. Same emotion...LJS9502_basic

Good point. I wonder how many of our soldiers have that come to mind when they fire their gun.

When soldiers fire a gun it's because they are being fired upon. They don't care who is behind the other gun. It's self preservation....

This is nothing but a romantic take on the matter. There are plenty of videos all over the internet in which our own soldiers are shown taking it personally. Further, there are plenty of cases in which they have also been charged for it. That said, if this is still your stance, do you believe only OUR soldiers share this trait? or all soldiers?

Have you been a soldier? If not then it's assumption on your part.

the difference is judaism is alsoa nationalism, while islam and palestinians aren't necessarily connected. and thehamas is an extrovertedly islamic group. the regime in gaza is basically a theocracy. which is incorrect in regards to zionism since most of it's founding fathers were deeply into socialism and communism and were by definition atheists.

That is a very fallacious argument on your part. Once again, there is video evidence that contradicts your claims all over liveleak.

people under fire don't take anything personally. they do what they have to do. everyone is too overly stressed toget political in a firefight.
