Right. The Westboro Baptist Church is basically a cult.I am not one the typically approves of public executions, but in this case I want to watch this person die a horrible death.ttobba07No, let's not stoop to the killer's level.

When you have news sources like fox news that contribute and incourage the hate between the two political parties, and stupid people like sarach palin who says stuff like "let's lock and load" what do you expect? Fox news, glenn beck, hanity, sarah palin are as much responible as that shooter is for killing innocent people because of there political affilationsThunda_Monkey
Speaking of encouraging the hate, how about the quote from this politician! Must make you furious!

But on another note, maybe the shooter was inspired by the political quote of Punish your enemies

I'm always down for some Bipartisan efforts, the lame duck session made me proud. But to answer your question yeah it's possible that that punish your enemies quote could have done it but then again Congress woman Gabby Giffords isn't an enemy, atleast not to obama, maybe to sarah palin though because she's putting hits out on people... I really don't care if it sounds insane. In this case, I believe in an eye for an eye. That gunman should be executed and I feel everyone should have the right to watch.
It only seems fair his family should then be able to execute everyone who watched.

My point is, we don't know this person's motives yet, and to tie them to any political side at this point is just a knee jerk reaction or one side using it to move their agenda.
According to reports, his websites quotes the communist manfesto. Which politcal side would that be? (I don't think either)
Also, the Washington Post and CCN use the term regarding putting republicans in the 'crosshairs' quite a few times. Look at the post by Peaceful_Anger earlier in this thread. He has quite a few links.

I totally agree with you about not assuming the guys motives but c'mon the guy claims that he supports the tea party on his facebook. Giffords beats a tea party canidate in a tight race. sarah palin has a list of 20 congressional members with crosshairs over there names. then it so happens that outta of 300 million people in this country 1 person that happen to be on that list gets shot? Sarah palin supports the tea party also. As far as I know, the guy never once claimed that he supports the Tea Party. If you're gonna make a claim like that, you're going to need to prove it.
The crosshairs thing was foolish of Sarah Palin, but there's no evidence suggesting that the gunman acted based on that stupid crosshairs list.

Remember former Philadelphia Phillies manager Dallas Green? Well, his granddaughter Christina-Taylor Green, born on 9/11/2001, was killed yesterday. What a tragedy. :( Storyangeldeb82
Unfortunately almost no one cares. Which to me is the real tragedy.
Several people die and the only person worth mentioning is a congresswoman. Really?

I didn't see this reported yet. Do you have a link? I did see it reported he quoted the Communist Manifesto.
It doesn't all 'add up' at all unless you jump to many conclusions. Regardless of what anyone else says, this killer is responsible for his own actions. Not Sarah Palin for her 'targets', not Obama for saying 'bring a gun' or 'punish your enemies', not anyone but the shooter himself.
Try to use this incident to forward political agenda's by pointing figures, blaming parties, or anyone other than him is just sick IMO.
EDIT:
Actually, I want to edit this. After thinking about it. while the shooter is responsible, people that incite bad behavior with irresponsible influence can hold some responsibility as well (Charles Manson for example). That being said, I think it is really stretching it to give any blame to Palin or Obama or whoever in this case.

Because the other victims can't be 'used' to bring down a party or a political figure. Disgusting I know.

Yeah, this punk is a hardcore schizo. His nonsensical obsession with grammar/literacy, the bat**** insane ramblings, hatred of patterns, and socially/emotionally stunted mannerisms just reek of someone who needed to be in a padded cell years prior.

[QUOTE="Wasdie"]murder is murder. its not special just because its a politician. these folks arent royality they are no different from you and I but in all honesty while this might be wrong this like the attack on the tax building in 2010 i think it was sum up a lot of the frustration many people feel. heck i feel that way politicians never seem to do whats good for anyone but themselves and the tax book is ridiculous. but this is only going to get worse as they continue to ignore the people and spit on them. i also hope this does not lead to another war cry against guns.Did they get the guy who did it?
He needs to be dealt with...
It's one thing to protest against politics you don't like, and another to kill a politican.

The problem is, most americans are ignorant and have no clue what they're talking about when it comes to criticizing fiscal policies. The more ignorant you are, the more opinions you have on issues you know nothing about. The tax bill is perfectly fine.
Looks like the Daily Kos used the target/crosshairs system on thier website. It has been scrubbed since all of this occured. They often do things like this. However, thanks to screen grabs, these have been preserved for all to see.

No, but it's being used to paint the tea party in a bad light or right wing. Even in this thread alone, not to mention other sites, are posting 'angry tea party' sign holders, etc. Many are trying to paint a picture of how 'dangerous' the tea party members are! etc.
Some people are using this tragedy to put certain individuals in a bad light.
Not to mention how some want to blame Palin for instigating this behavior or candidate Jesse Kelly. that's what I'm getting at.
It was a crazed idiot, and not much more than that.

That is due to everyone wanting this shooting to be politically motivated. It may be, but until this kid starts speaking, no one will know. His ramblings were anti-government, but he didn't single out one party or state that he thought himself aligned with any party. The kid is missing more than a few marbles and nothing more.
It looks like Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has some explaining to do. LINK
It turns out Loughner had made previous death threats before, but they did nothing. His mom also works for Pima County. And Dupnik (Dem) knew this when he went on his partisan rampage against Palin. What a creep.

There has been a lot of talk about the death of the nine year old-- it wouldn't be a news outlet if it wasn't trying to crassly exploit the death of a person. No, she's still in the hospital.
Congresswoman raises two fingers, gives thumbs up She was shot in the head at point blank range, the bullet went straight through her brain, she survived, and she's giving a thumbs-up from the hospital bed. This woman has bigger balls than Teddy Roosevelt. Theokhoth
It amazing that she survive.
