I'm vegetarian, and against animal slaughter.

The average human eats 60-100 cows in their lifetime (this info was from a page i can't remember the link sorry)...that is pretty sad imo, imagine how many chickens, rabbits, sheep ect die

Yongying

Do you grow your own food? If not, I've got bad news for you...

Bear in mind, I understand where you're coming from, but unless you grow all of your own food, you're not too much better than us carnivores.

Yes but putting that on the same scale is ridiculous, ok so a bunny dies because a combine passed over it. The bunny had and always had a choice to be free though. I'm sure that bunny would of rather lived freely and died like that, than live in a box for the rest of its life only to be killed intentionally.

one thing truthful about it is alot of them conveniently ignore the facts, ive seen it a freind of mine wanted to become one and she was telling me about it and all the stuff she was saying wasnt true and other people who already were told her this stuff and some of it she found on websites. i stoped her from doing it because she was being lied to, makes them look kinda bad when they gotta lie to convince people to beleive there doing something good

I'm not going to disagree with that, however, i don't find it right that vegans and carnivores are put on the same scale when it comes to the mistreatment of animals.

So the act of killing an animal is perfectly fine, but raising it solely to become dinner is out of the question?

A part of nature would be you hunting for your own food. Instead we have 50% americans who are overweight because food is so easy to come by, and people are greedy..that is not nature at all.

nature is anything you can naturally do, until we violate the laws of physics we are doing things that are natural.

Even then, if you can violate physics, obviously our idea of physics would be wrong.

No and yes.

What's wrong with killing an animal?

There is only one ending to this argument and that is, my morals vs your morals.

You like to eat meat because its tasty, the life of the animal has no meaning because its not human and doesn't feel anything. If it doesn't feel mistreated then it is ok to kill it. right?

i believe animals do have feelings, therefore i put them on the same scale as human beings. Should it be ok for a person with downsyndrome to be killed because he is not like us?, and serves no other purpouse than being dead and proceed to become someones food.

If all the animals in the world were to die, we being the animals that we are, wouldn't it be logical to eat other animals like ourselves, but are inferior to us? for example, people with deformaties ect..

yes it is disgusting, this is why i find that eating flesh, blood and crap like that to be disgusting.

It would then be natural for me to kill you and eat you because, thats what animals do right?

i suppose its natural, but at the same time cannibalism isnt exactly healthy.

Well, but what if i like the taste of you? i have the right to kill you because you are tasty! :D

well technically you dont. but if were talking about the law of the jungle then i suppose youd have every right to try.

Precisely, who are we to decide what the laws of nature are?

I'm vegetarian, and against animal slaughter.

The average human eats 60-100 cows in their lifetime (this info was from a page i can't remember the link sorry)...that is pretty sad imo, imagine how many chickens, rabbits, sheep ect die

Yongying

Do you grow your own food? If not, I've got bad news for you...

Bear in mind, I understand where you're coming from, but unless you grow all of your own food, you're not too much better than us carnivores.

That is the weakest argument iv'e read in my life

How so?

Well, the guy that wrote that is comparing the slaughter of cows to the slaughter of insects.

what am i supposed to say?

And rodents. Like bunnies and rats and such.

Yes but putting that on the same scale is ridiculous, ok so a bunny dies because a combine passed over it. The bunny had and always had a choice to be free though. I'm sure that bunny would of rather lived freely and died like that, than live in a box for the rest of its life only to be killed intentionally.

So the act of killing an animal is perfectly fine, but raising it solely to become dinner is out of the question?

You act as though I find animals to have no feelings and act solely as walking dinner. You misjudge me in doing so. Allow me to elaborate. I find that it is perfectly alright to hunt and raise animals for slaughter. However, I would rather the hunter shot the head or the animal be put down painlessly in the slaughterhouse, as I'm not a fan of animal suffering either. I also find hunting for sport to be sickening, as I find that if you're killing an animal just for the sake of killing it, you're wasting another creature's life so that you can have fun, rather than using its remains for sustenance, which is only natural considering that humans are at the height of the food chain.

I have also considered that what I'm eating is flesh, muscle, fat, and blood vessels, as well as the blood itself, though this stopped meaning so much to me when I realized that it is healthy and natural for us to eat it.

I understand your standpoint and I do not antagonize you for it. If you thought I was, it was a mistake on my part for making you think so. I wanted to know exactly how you thought for the sake of expanding my knowledge, and I have.
