[QUOTE="Yongying"][QUOTE="k_smoove"]Nope. It's part of nature. I just ate a corn dog.Super_Socialist

A part of nature would be you hunting for your own food. Instead we have 50% americans who are overweight because food is so easy to come by, and people are greedy..that is not nature at all.

nature is anything you can naturally do, until we violate the laws of physics we are doing things that are natural.

Even then, if you can violate physics, obviously our idea of physics would be wrong.

It would then be natural for me to kill you and eat you because, thats what animals do right?

i suppose its natural, but at the same time cannibalism isnt exactly healthy.

Well, but what if i like the taste of you? i have the right to kill you because you are tasty! :D

well technically you dont. but if were talking about the law of the jungle then i suppose youd have every right to try.

Precisely, who are we to decide what the laws of nature are?

we dont decide, we just figure them out.

We don't figure them out, we interpretate them in any way we find more conveniant for us humans, but not in the conveniance of nature iteself.

I'm totally as passionate as you are about helping and protecting animals, but I dont see whats wrong with benefiting with something that will happen anyway. Just because I stop eating meat, doesnt mean they will stop killing animals. This is why I dont feel bad, since I know it will happen anyway, I may as well gain the benefits from it.

Not that its bad to feel bad for eating it.

What need or conveniance do we have to nature?

As a matter of fact, nature could do a whole lot better without us.

Nature doesn't need us, but we need nature.

Would you kill a cat and eat it because it looked at you wrong?

it would depend on the cat, if it was a stray then sure, otherwise it's someone's propertyalso it would depend if it was a threat or not

Not to mention that "Nature" isn't an entity. Nature consists of individual organisms or groups of organisms acting in their own interests.

The problem lies in that everyone thinks the same way as you do. Not eating meat is 1 less animal killed to feed you, if 100 people stopped eating meat then that would be 100 less animals that are killed to feed them.

those animals arent intelligent enough to do it intentionally, even thought they do pollute. i mean if an animal urinates into a river that would count as pollution

wars happen all the time, even with other animals. ever watch the discovery channel? lol

we arent destroying the earth, were just changing it for our own benefit.

Humans are animals, Lions are animals and eat meat, sharks are animals and they eat meat, Gorrillas are animals and they eat meat and vegetables/fruit.
I don't see why I shouldn't eat meat when it's a part of nature to do so for some animals.

Humans are animals, Lions are animals and eat meat, sharks are animals and they eat meat, Gorrillas are animals and they eat meat and vegetables/fruit.
I don't see why I shouldn't eat meat when it's a part of nature to do so for some animals.
Treflis

Uh, gorrillas are herbivores. They eat foliage. Just for the record.

no, i think if someone went out, with me specificly in mind, and killed that animal solely for me, i might feel slightly bad. but as long as it doesn't go to waste, its fine. we are designed to eat meat, if we weren't supposed to, we wouldn't be able to, so there isn't anything wrong with it in my eyes unless the animal has lived a bad life. ;)

Not at all, we're higher in the foodchain and we've lived off of meat since the dawn of time... plus, meat has alot of vitamins in that are hard to replace with veggies and other things..

I just never understood people that felt bad for eating meat. I mean, those type of people have to take vitamens for the amino acids that are found in meat so we're meant to eat the stuff. Plus animals eat other animals. Sheesh.
