Could be possible that n the vast expanse of space some form of life might exist....but thus far nothing supports the reality.

Do you honestly believe that there is no life in this endless and vast universe?

Considering the vastness of space and the gazillion stars being in it, there's a probability of life existing somewhere else than earth.

Every day that passes with no confirmations of alien life, lowers the possibility of there even being alien life.

Yes, but it doesn't mean it's not true. I'm not an idiot and I don't rule anything out, but I wouldn't say it's likely.

It's a possibility, but I believe they'd be nothing like us.

Think about it. Think about all the strange things (accidents if you will) that occurred in our evolution to make us what we are now. The fact that we have to inhale constantly to live. The fact that we have to eat other organisms to survive. The fact that every species has two sexes that are required to get together to reproduce.

Extra territorial life will most probably not share all of those charismatics.

You choose perhaps the most basic things that almost all life on this planet does
I would hazard a guess to say if there was life in this universe (thus shares all our laws of physics)
These things would be pretty standard

I believe that the universe is too large for Earth to be only planet in it to have any form of life present.

I certainly like to think alien life exists somewhere out there. In the end it'd be more interesting and plausible than Earth being the only planet to harbor any kind of life.

*Unless the universe and everything in and without revolves around Earth which I suppose is also interesting but less plausible.

All life on this planet does that because all life lives on this planet. We all start at the same origin in the end here. We all live in the same atmosphere thus evolve to survive in it. It was only recently that the idea that all life needs sunlight to live was dismissed due to the deep sea findings. What's not to say they'll find evidence that there are alternatives to other believed necessities to life?

Seriously, you guys would make pretty poor scientists with that attitude. "Yeah, that's the undenyable, set in stone, no questions about it fact. There's no point in searching for evidence to say so otherwise, or even considering the possibility because it's crystal clear fact that this is the 100% correct." is what I get from a lot of OT.

Wrong there. There are already 3 proposed places where micro-organic life exists in our solar system, one out of the three has already been confirmed. To OP Yes. Some of you guys should look at the organism the Tardigrade. Though of course a complex organism could never really evolve to the extent that a Tardigrade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardigrade

Alien life of any kind: Definitely

Intelligent alien life: Less likely but with the size of the universe I still pretty much have to say yes. Have they made contact? I don't think so.

I do not believe that it is or ever will be possible to travel distances great enough to encounter alien life. But I do believe that alien life exists, mainly because of recent evidence that proves the existence of life forms that are not based on carbon.

It would be hard to imagine with all the planets out there, that Earth happens to be the only one with life. So, in other words, yes.

There is no primary example of any grain of sand being intelligent. The assumption that there must be life elsewhere is that we already have a single example of it occurring.

What flawed reasoning?  Sentient life exists, we are proof of that.  There is life in the universe.  Assumption and reason have nothing to do with it, it's solely a matter of probability, and given how incomprehensibly vast the universe is, you'd have to have to scope of an ant and laughable arrogance to even begin to believe we are alone.  I myself wouldn't be at all surprised if there were trillions of other lifeforms out there similar to us around the galaxy.

If life can happen here, why can't it happen somewhere else?  Without resorting to your book?

We are proof there is life on this planet. Not that there are other sources of life in the universe and yes it is nothing more than a giant assumption on your part. The only reason you believe in aliens is because there's a chance of them being real. There's a probability for a man breaking into my house and kicking me right in the nads but it's super low. Flawed reasoning amigo.

Some of you guys should look at the organism the Tardigrade. Though of course a complex organism could never really evolve to the extent that a Tardigrade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardigrade

Wikipedia can be edited by anyone. My wife and I talked to our pastor today and he made a great point. If aliens are real how why come are they not in th bible? God laid out his plan and it doesnt look like aliens are in the cards. Looks like this one is in the books. Aliens are great for thr movie business though!

Indeed they are - just by a different name ;) Broaden your horizon on what 'aliens' could mean and you will see it allign with the Bible as well as pretty much any ancient text describing a god or gods.
