They dont go to hell, or heaven, since we simply dont believe that those places exist. We just die and cease to exist. Thats how the world is.tzar3
Exactly.
Even if you believe in Hell, it wouldn't make sense that you'd actually go to it. We're born of the Earth so why would we go anywhere else when we die? We are nothing more than evolved and civilized animals.

Kinda what I was going to say
[QUOTE="tzar3"]They dont go to hell, or heaven, since we simply dont believe that those places exist. We just die and cease to exist. Thats how the world is.Jigsaw9798
Exactly.
That's not the point here. This thread assumes that heaven does exist and what would happen to atheists if it did.Assuming hell and heaven exist, I would hope that good atheists would go to heaven and bad atheists would go to hell. But the terms good and bad are subjective and only a righteous god could judge.
However, the Bible seems to add a clause that you have to accept Christ as your savior above anything else. If we're using that as a reference point, then yes, good atheists go to hell. I can't say I like it but it's better than making out god to be something he's not.
To be honest I think there are more pressing issues, like what should I have for breakfast?braindead_heroBreakfast at 3am? :o
If Catholicism got it right, then we will all go to Hell.
I come from a catholic background, so I can't answer for Protestants... do any religious Protestants know?

That's not the point here. This thread assumes that heaven does exist and what would happen to atheists if it did.You know the answer to it. You're just trying to get atheists to act scared when it's the exact opposite. It's only theists that fear hell. It would be more logical to fear a neon green unicorn from stealing all my bread.

You won't know till its to late then.
I think every decent person should get into heaven on the basis that they don't deserve eternal suffering.SolidSnake35Exactly. If heaven and hell exist, I think any merciful god would judge a person based on their morals and how they lived their life, and not who/what they believe in.

It's pretty much open for interpretation and the answer I gave leaves nothing for atheists to fear, actually.

But the question is pretty much directed towards those who do believe, so gtfo atheists!:P

I'd rather talk about the more important issue of "what's for dinner?".[QUOTE="Jigsaw9798"][QUOTE="tzar3"]They dont go to hell, or heaven, since we simply dont believe that those places exist. We just die and cease to exist. Thats how the world is.SolidSnake35

That's not the point here. This thread assumes that heaven does exist and what would happen to atheists if it did.If thats the case then God would simply throw them into the frying pan anyways, you could be the most sweetest person on earth, but if your no christian... your simply gonna go to hell. Thats how it is.
If God exists, I have a feeling he is a good guy and quite frankly everything about him in the bible is BS.
Yes, atheists would get into heaven so long as they didnt do anything horrible.
And to all you diehard christians, God isnt about sending nonbelievers to hell. He is about forgiveness and acceptance. And thats if he exists lol. For all we know he could be a she, or a homosexual *gasp*
you could be the most sweetest person on earth, but if your no christian... your simply gonna go to hell. Thats how it is.tzar3Yet many Christians would say that is not the case.
They go to puppy heaven and play with dead puppies for all eternity.
I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing...
According to Dante's Inferno (which isn't actual scripture) they go to limbo, the first level of hell. Where they aren't tortured but rather just live eternity without the presence of god. nisshoku1729Which is what we do to begin with while living.
The only way one is saved from the lake of fire (or hell) is if they accept Christ into their heart and repent of their sins.
(Romans 10:8-10) - "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; {9} That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. {10} For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
The Bible says "Excepts man be born again, he shall not see the Kingdom of God."
How are we born again? The verses above show how.
(Revelation 20:15) - "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
When we are born again, our names are written in the Book of Life, and will never be erased.
The conclusion then, is this:
Unless one is born again, they are on their way to a devil's hell, whether they're an atheist, a muslim, a hindu, or a lost church member.
Christ, and Christ alone is the only way to be saved.
There is no other way.Crushmaster
Ahh, don't you love religious intolerance?

Which is similar to what my mother's religion believes.
