[QUOTE="stedtfeld"]The only difference between atheists and theists is that Atheists don't waste their time praising nothing. They both do the same thing after they die: rot.J-man45

Would you consider securing yourself a place in Heaven a "waste of time"? You are right, both athiests and thiests bodies will rot, however, our souls are eternal. What we do while we're on Earth determines what will happen after death. So in my case, worshipping is not at all a waste of time.

and how do you know you are worshiping the right god?

and please, don't say beacose the bible says so...

I don't exactly want to speak for Lansdowne5, but for me I just feel it in my heart. I know He's there. I know I'm worshipping the one and only God. Not just the right one. There is only one.

I agree with you 100% J-man. You can feel he's there in your heart.

God Bless :)

[QUOTE="Vilot_Hero"]I don't think there is a hell or heaven. It's probably just a bunch of stuff made up along with the bible and such. And assuming there is heaven and hell. I think that people with good moral would go to heaven. It just seems stupid to decide which person goes to hell or heaven based on belief.blackregiment

What is the source for your beliefs? People go to Hell or Heaven based on whether they remain in their sins at death or whether they are counted righteous by the blood of Jesus because they have accepted Him and His sacrifice through faith in Him.This is faith, rooted in God's Word.

So all other beliefs besides those that believe in jesus will send you to hell?

Is that right by your logic?

Promised heaven is the reason we have so many suicide bombers today.

I think religion is to teach good morals, and believe good. but none of it should be taken seriously.

That's because you don't see God's choices to be moral, thus you equate people being sent to Hell to be unjust.

The problem is that christianity outright states that its my way or the highway, many religions out there don't believe in jesus, they do however believe in god.

Whats the gatekeeper going to tell those people when they reach the gates?

Oh sorry you should have been a christian?

There are also many religions that say jesus was merely a divine prophet, whats the gatekeeper going to tell them?

Oh sorry for wasting your life, your religous beliefs were incorrect, better luck in hell?

What if we had never expanded out and explored the world and people on the other side of the earth never heard of god, what happens when they die and are standing at the gates, whats the gatekeeper say?

Oh who cares, god didn't give a damn about them enough to make contact so they can just all pass go and go straight to hell?

Think about it, gods a divine being all loving, just and merciful with infinite wisdom and knowledge and yet he couldn't have forseen problems like this and would just stand back and be a dictator?

Highly doubtful mate, god would be a little more wiser then us stupid limited perspective humans who once thought the earth was flat, the stars were the heavens and that everything revolved around the earth.

This topic has been debated a billion times and the results will be the same from now and here onward, when you die is when you will know and not a nano-second sooner.

Honestly, anyone with an intact sense of morality would see that condemning Gandhi to infinite torment is so superlatively unjust that any religion proposing it can be instantly rejected.

I have an intact sense of morality. . . .

You have no idea. God created us, he gave us everything, and all he asks in return is that we ask for forgiveness for the things which we have done wrong. Anyone who willingly turns away from someone who has given them everything does not deserve to be allowed into their home.

Regardless, you are again looking at it from a human perspective, thinking that you can understand God's reasoning. It's stupidity to think that your mind is equal to that of God's.

I can assure you you don't. Almost everything you say as regards the morality of hell is stunningly wrong.

I'm not sure it counts is willingly turning away when you don't know the person exists.

Well if you don't believe that Christ died on the Cross for your sins then you won't go to heaven. That's what you need to believe if you plan on going to heaven so atheists don't go to heaven. They go to hell.

Well if you don't believe that Christ died on the Cross for your sins then you won't go to heaven. That's what you need to believe if you plan on going to heaven so atheists don't go to heaven. They go to hell.tomizzo

So babies go to hell, I suppose, since they don't believe that.

I am not a atheist i'm agnostic i don't believe in organized religions but i do believe in the mayan teaching and worship. i think it depends if your a good person or bad person just don't do drugs , don't kill people, and be nice to others. besides 200 years ago. some people who were born on different islands or lands had never even heard of religions so they weren't even given a chance.

I got religions and atheists friends and i treat them with the same respect, as long as their a good friend to me i'm happy with it.

There is an age of accountability, generally believed to be around thirteen, before which, children that die are with the Lord.

At least thats what my family believes.

Psst... your family are wrong.

Do you want a bet Funky?

Your family are right, except for the Baptism part.

So Gandhi goes to hell. Very fair.

Well according to the Bible, yes he does. You can't practice all religions, it just doesn't work like that.

Honestly, anyone with an intact sense of morality would see that condemning Gandhi to infinite torment is so superlatively unjust that any religion proposing it can be instantly rejected.

Reject God's plan if you will He gave you a free will, then you and Ghandi can have some "warm" conversations together.

Then why don't you go and create your own universe where you can make the rules?

One of these days you will figure out that you can complain all you want, but that will not change God's plan.

He, not you, makes the rules.

After reading through a good 40-or-so pages of these religious dribble about morality and Hell, I think I'd be a lot happier in Hell than I would be in Heaven.

I'd rather spend eternity with the highly-intelligent minds of Aristotle, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Galileo or Gandhi than spend eternity under the dictatorship of a god who justifies eternal damnation to babies, scientists, homosexuals, etc while hanging out with such awesome people like Adolf Hitler Hernán Cortés, and Mary I.

You think Hitler is in heaven? Too funny. You really should learn something about Christianity before you talk about it.

Following Christ is not an organized religion. It is a personal relationship with Him. You should look into it. Eternity is a looooong time.
